Although, you can never say never as 20 coaching positions changed this past off season, I don't think that Coach Faircloth is on any hotseat. Under him, the Indians have consistently made the playoffs. As big a rivalry as Mid-County Madness is, I think the board of trustees recognize that it is one game that should not color Coach Faircloth's body of work.

Changes in Orange Community Christian Schedule
WOSgrad posted a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Here is the revised schedule for the CCS Lions: Aug. 18 - High Island (Scr.), 4:30 p.m. Aug. 25 - at Clear Lake Christian (Scr.), 6:30 p.m. Sept. 1 - Huntsville Alpha Omega, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 8 - at Houston Emery-Weiner, 7:00 p.m. Sept. 15 - Bellville Faith, 4:00 p.m.* Sept. 21 - at Katy Faith West, 7:00 p.m. Sept. 28 - at Brazosport Christian, 7:00 p.m.* Oct. 5 - at Brenham Christian, 7:00 p.m.* Oct. 13 - OPEN Oct. 20 - at Houston Mt. Carmel, 7:00 p.m. Oct. 26 - at Alvin Living Stones, 7:00 p.m.* Nov. 3 - Houston Texas Christian, 7:30 p.m.* Nov. 10 - Magnolia Legacy Prep, 12:00 p.m.* Thanks to Coach Larry Spears at CCS for getting this sechedule to me! The change was dictated by a couple of events. First, Dickinson Pine Drive Christian dropped its sports program and was replaced by Mt Carmel on the schedule. Second, there was some disconnect on the date of the Chester game as CCS had the game on its schedule for 9/21 and Chester had it on the schedule for 9/14. As it could not be resolved, CCS replaced Chester with Katy Faith West (whom some Beaumont Legacy fans may remember as a former district mate), who will be playing as a 6 man independent this year. -
There are no wins or losses in a scrimmage. They are merely practices where the person you hit does not wear the same colors that you do.

Apparently, 99.9 FM has been reporting that Liberty has named Bob Bellard, son of legendary coach Emory Bellard, to be the new defensive coordinator at Liberty. Anyone know anything about this?

Benefit for Vidor Coaches son
WOSgrad replied to imonlyoneman's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Here are the details as I know them: On July 3rd, Drew Humberson, the 10 year old son of Vidor varsity assistant football and baseball coach Rex Humberson was involved in an accident. Drew's injuries were severe enough that he had to be life flighted to Galveston, where he stayed in ICU for 8 days. While Drew is now home, he is undergoing rehabilitation for his injuries. To help defray medical expenses, friends of the Humberson family have scheduled a benefit for Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the VFW Hall in Vidor (I believe that address is 710 N. Main St., Vidor, TX 77662). The benefit will start at 10:00 a.m. and last until midnight. There will be barbeque, silent auction, band and drinks. There will also be a washer and horseshoe tournament. All of the area coaches and area football teams have been invited so this may be seeing some of the guys who will be in uniform this fall at the event. -
Gabby Douglas is pure gold in every way, just have to say anyone complaining about her hair needs to get a life. I like what one commenter said on a national web site. 'she had hair' I couldn't see past here smile. I wouldn't care if her hair was a buzz cut and dyed purple. She was awesome.
Here is what I don't understand. I am a person that spends his fair share of time on the internet. I get on twitter, facebook and peruse just about every major sports site there is. Yet, I have seen no one....and I mean no one....commenting about Gabby's hair. All I have seen is the widespread condemnation of a comment that I have not seen! All that I have seen is the push to let everyone know that she is the first African-American to win the Olympic all around when she, in truth, accomplished the less publicized goal of being the first American woman...black, white, hispanic, asian or other ethnicity...to win a team gold and all around gold.
Actually every playoff game that Chapel hill played was decided by 10 points or less except Jasper. Chapel Hill beat Jasper 70 - 28. During the regular season Chapel Hill had three more games that were decided by 10 points or less. Chapel Hill had three gamesduring the that they won by one point. Jasper on the other hand, the team that could "Run it Whenever and However" was 6-5, LOST TO ORANGEFIELD, and did not beat one team with a winning record. However I do think that Jasper did finally get a quality Head Coach in Darrell Barbay, who will do things correctly and stay for more than two years. Good luck to the Jasper Bulldogs in 2012!
Ouch, I think that argument got sent to bed without supper!
Guy from Louisiana on rivals said Jasper is now playing New Orleans Cohen HS in Week 4, in Jasper... Not sure if its legit because he said Jasper dropped La Grange, LA...when I was told La Grange dropped Jasper
From my understanding, it was La Grange that did drop Jasper. Jasper will play Cohen College Prep. It is a newer school that just this year has expanded to an 11th and 12th grade. It is not Cohen High School. They are two different entities (even though Cohen College Prep does have its classes at the Cohen High School). Probably not the ideal opponent that Coach Barbay had in mind, but at this point at least he has 10 games on the schedule and the Bulldogs have another home game.

Newton's Vinsant chasing Olympic gold
Vinsant made the finals, but came in 6th place. Still a great showing for the local girl and something she will remember the rest of her life. Congrats!
The first time that an American woman has advanced to the finals since the competition became an Olympic sport! Congrats, Savannah! -
The UIL gets its 15% of gross revenue off of each football playoff game. All expenses, officials included are paid by the participating schools. Thus the UIL has no incentive to look for sponsors for any extra expenses like replay equipment or officials. The expenses would be completely on the competing schools. As many football programs already have their budgets strained by the travel and expenses of playoff appearances, to saddle them with this financial burden when most school districts are cash strapped as it is would be foolish.

This year, the Eagles return a wealth of experience to make their climb to the 10-2A-I district championship. Coaching Staff Head Coach: W.T.
