  6. I don't think this was intended to be a redo of the WO-S/Liberty prediction thread. As to the question, it is outstanding that multiple teams out of the district are getting some discussion. Liberty's 8-0 record is good for Liberty, good for the district, and yes, it is good for West Orange-Stark. For a team to at least show the appearance of being able to put up some resistance against WO-S is actually refreshing and could make for a sharper Mustang team come the playoffs. Now, how much resistance will actually happen? Well, I have made my views known and yes, they sharply differ from those that favor the Liberty cause. But, I too will sit back and enjoy the enhanced notoriety the district is being given due to Liberty's vast improvement.
  7. I think Santa was asking for a prediction, not inquiring as to where they are now.

  13. With due respect, not getting out of bounds when you are down 5 with 8 seconds left is a bonehead mistake. Heading to the right when the play is going left is a bonehead mistake. This, I'm sorry, cannot be dismissed as merely "bonehead." The Pingleton kid, looked down, measured, left his feet and came down with all of this weight on the linebacker's ankle. That my friend, is an intentional act. Are some of the sanctions discussed like pulling scholarships too extreme (although in an age where college athletes are making news as often for character issues as they are for their 40 times, if I am a program recruiting this guy, I might want to dig further)? Definitely. At the same time, when a local school is being is being castigated and called a bunch of "thugs" for pregame rituals that some find intimidating, this was truly a "thug" move that deserves some sanction and given the fact that it did appear to cause some injury, a pretty severe one. I guess that an aspect that I find particularly galling is that nearly 10 months ago, this very kid had to sit out what was at that time the most important game of his young life because of an injury that he sustained on the field. You'd think he would have learned something from that...then, again, he might have.
  14. He did. The problem is that unless you have some sort of relationship across the Sabine, if you go looking for a game the best you will likely get is someone like a Slaughter or University Central.
  15. To some extent, that is true. 21-5A and 22-5A, were unavailable after Week 2. West Brook unavailable shortly afterward. However, there were schools, some of which are in this area and at least the same size as WO-S who flat out refused for some pretty strange reasons.
  16. PN-G dropped out of the Old Coach and didn't get any votes in the AP rankings. They dropped to #25 in the DCTF poll.
  17. Actually, I was off on that. A Liberty/Bellville matchup wouldn't happen until Round 4
  18. The strain on travel budgets is one of the bigger reasons that I have problems with the split. Both 21 and 22-5A currently have pretty cozy districts travel wise (yes, with the exception of Livingston). While a split wouldn't yield the extreme results that Javelina, those in 22-5A that complain about the Livingston trip would get to add trips to New Caney, Humble and Conroe to their routine, others traveling to Mont Belvieu, Dayton, Crosby and Splendora. And for 21-5A, multiple trips to the Triangle would be in order. If you don't think that is a big deal, schedule a meeting with your coach just after he gets the athletic department budget.
