  1. If you are looking for a great political guy hire Bill Clinton...I hear he is free these days.
  2. I know the staff was high on him and had Bevil targeted from day one...this is a good thing for the program, getting a playmaker who is also from the area.
  3. it will be tough for Nederland to pull an upset, but doable...they will need to avoid turnovers and have a better than average shooting night...the three can be a great equalizer!
  4. Great job, Dogs!
  5. hell, rider that's been years ago...surely they have gotten over that. And once again, Stump to PNG = ain't happenin'.
  6. that's true, rider...any coach who is more concerned about politics than winning is not gonna get the results you guys, or anyone for that matter, wants...sometimes the problems run deeper than the obvious.
  7. The paper said as much this morning...Stump and Stowers both said they are not interested.
  8. It was...Anahuac grabs the ball out of the net and goes...they play a very fast paced game with pressure "d" as well...this style led to the relatively high score...good win by the Dogs as Anahuac won this one last year.
  9. I agree with that, bullets. Good post.
  10. Thanks for the clarification, booster.
  11. IMO, it's Lamar's facility and they allowed YMBL to use it...if they use it, they have to use the facility according to Lamar's guidelines as it is for LU's use first and foremost...everyone may have been a bit "antsier" about this since Lu was in fact playing it's biggest non-conference home game of the year against Texas Tech.
  12. Retired? I thought someone said he went to Evadale or somewhere after LCM and coached the offense...come on, there's more to that story than "he retired". ??? ??? ???
  13. refresh my memory...why did Williams leave and what were the circumstances?
  14. same team that managed to whip Memorial's butt the night before.
  15. scooter, you have got a plan there! that's good eatin'
  16. Thus a good reason not to be a hot dog!
  17. Would you? I'd be happy to take a bet on that one. Traylor ain't leavin' Gilmer for PNG.
  18. One thing is for sure...PNG will get something different...may be better, may be worse but only time will tell.
  19. Kinda comes in handy, wouldn't you say bru? It is amazing how a coach's IQ is very closely tied to the talent of his players. I am not saying coaching cannot make a difference, because it can, but you can only do so much with limited talent.
  20. Good question, bear? I wonder what he means by "modern" football? I assume that he is talking about a spread type offense, which is fine if you have the right personnel, but it certainly is not the only way to win football games...Alabama doesn't play "modern" football and they have been successful this season...Florida beat them, yes, but that had more to do with talent than scheme.
  21. Traylor ain't leaving Gilmer for PNG!
  22. Their odds of getting someone good improve if they add the AD tag and money
  23. Dogs have to eliminate the turnovers...this was a very winnable game for them, but they will be fine as English settles on his rotation as district approaches...he certainly has this program moving in the right direction...to even be competetive with Memorial a few years back would have been a joke, much less have a chance to win...i like the direction of the program.
  24. It's not everything, but given the choice, I would rather see our kids be successful early on than not...it does seem like WOS, Nederland, and Lumberton seem to dominate youth footbal over the past several years.
  25. Coog, I agree with your assessment of LM...no program can be as successful as LM by doing things "wrong"...Nederladn has played them several times over the years and I have the utmost respect for the LM program. I still find this Credeur rumor to be crazy...I will eat some crow on this myself if he leaves, but I just don't see this happening...I'll believe it when I see it...sounds to me like Credeur is a hometown boy with a good thing going and unless someone offers him a ridiculous amount of money, he ain't going nowhere.
