1. He will be outweighed by 40 pounds then
2. Ain't much to be yellow about when your record vs. said opponent is 51-9-1
3. Dawgnut, that's one good reason right there...last years defense for Nederland was outstanding, but I do believe that this years is better...most of last year's defense is back with another off season of work and another year of experience to make them better....also, I feel like we will be better than what Vidor saw last year in particular because Stampley and Taylor will both be playing....they both missed last years game and they are both impact players without a doubt....Washington adds another element to this D as well...that kid has the potential to be special with his size, speed, and quickness
4. Interesting take 2011....they are mighty good and I don't feel that it's a stretch to say that they are as good of a front (dline and linebackers) as any in the state for class 4A...great combination of size, athleticism, and technique from this group
5. Glad to see that you or someone took that post down
6. wow...nice post 409...again, no place for criticizing kids like this on a message board...classless
7. I just brought it back because it was amazingly similar to this years thread.
either way, not quite the 400 plus some of you guys predicted, that's for certain
I didn't predict 400 plus yrds. for any game...I just pointed out your mistake, you seem to have no problem recalling the failed predictions of some Vidor fans concerning last years match up, but can't take the time to check your facts before you post.
Oops...missed by a whole 17 yards...I said 186 and it was 203

10. scapegoat, you make a great point...this group of kids are very tight and do not care who gets the headlines so long as the TEAM wins...it's one of the strengths of this team IMO
11. If you think either teams work is done after next week, you are sadly mistaken
12. I believe some pirate faithful are doing more saber rattling than Dog fans are barking...too bad because I really respect Vidor and their players and coaches...they have done a great job with their program and have a really good team...my respect is difficult to translate towards some of the pirate posters on here, though...no doubt this has game of the year potential written all over it
13.
Vidor ALWAYS plays Nederland tough and could pull out the upset...anyone have a history on Nederland - Vidor?
I believe that it currently stands at 51-9-1 in favor of the Dogs, not that this has any bearing on this years game
14. It really is amazing how quiet the BH posters are after this one...couldn't get them to be quiet before and now....crickets!!!! Lol
15. Can't even take it when you give them a little bit of it
16. dang, rob...how much credit do you want???  I said vidor should be at the top of the rankings right now
17. vidor is undefeated so therefore, the clear #1 as far as power rankings go
18. Good point, jake...last year some vidor fans were talking about how they averaged 400 yards per game in the ground and would do the same to Nederland...they ended up with less than 200 yards of total offense and a loss...vidor will not have 400 yards rushing against Nederland this year, either...again, this will be a tough, hard fought game and could go either way, but I will still stick with the Dogs
19. stay in pn or g, whichever you are from, please...no one in their right mind believes this...you have enough to worry about over there I believe
20. Just had to bring back last years thread...amazing how similar it is to this years
21. Nice post, AT and it is appreciated...I agree that the game lived up to the hype...hopefully these two teams can do it again in the playoffs
22. look these are two teams who proved themselves by going 3 rounds deep last year...both have numerous players from those teams back so it is reasonable to believe that they can both do at least that much again, and I think they BOTH just may...Nederland got a serious taste of what big time 4A playoff football is last night by battling one of the state's best on their home field in torrential rain...vidor has yet to be battlet tested this year, but that doesn't mean they are not good...can't wait for this one!
23.

this will be entertaining for the next two weeks...I have decided to sit back, listen to Vidor talk about how bad they are kick Nederland's butt (like they did last year) and then see what happens...should be fun!
If you haven't noticed, it's not the Vidor fans predicting a 2-3 TD win... ;)
when the time comes for predictions, I won't be picking a 2-3 TD win for Nederland either...I think believing that either team wins by that much is crazy unless the turnover bug hits one of them
24.

I guess I really want to know, who do they have that vidor can't stop?  Or who do they have that can stop vidor everplay?
they return alot of what we saw last year. very good players, very good defense and offense seems to be finding itself rather well and quickly. the big question is, why is automatically assumed that they got so much better and we didn't at all. some ned fans are gonna be in for a shock come 28 sept.
Dustoff, what you are talking about is referred to as "being a fan"...vidor does the same by assuming that they are dramatically improved and will beat a Nedeerland team that is status quo from last year...the only way to sette it is to play it...the Dogs will have to minimize turnovers to win...it almost cost them the vidor game last year (vidor had less than 200 yards of total offense)...if they can do that, I think they win in a tough, very hard fought game...both teams are really good and I expect a very entertaining game...others may have something to say about this as district progresses, but I figured these 2 be the two best teams before the season and nothing has happened to change my mind about that
