  1. True but comes out throwing now after turnover on downs??
  2. That was a pretty conservative series of calls for png
  3. png out-physical-ing them…period….this is going to get ugly unless Huntsville makes serious adjustments….i see them getting worn down even more in the 2nd half
  4. Don’t overlook the attendance number differential trend between Nederland and png…I am hearing that png turned in 1701 and Nederland 1492…the 2 districts used to be very close and now, you are starting to see a bit of a gap…could pngisd beating NISD to the “new school” punch have anything to do with that? I don’t know, but food for thought
  5. Negativity breeds negativity….those that do nothing but piss and moan, breed more of the same and it achieves absolutely zero except to make the community as a whole look bad, so congrats to all the complainers…what your doing seems to be working for me, I’ll say this, congrats Dogs on a season that was better than the last one….movement in a positive direction is what I hoped for this year and it’s what happened….sometimes things don’t line up perfectly for you, you don’t have the numbers, the best talent, or the health…you deal with adversity…adversity doesn’t build character, it reveals it!! These young men and this staff have persevered through it, despite adversity and frankly a lot of negativity from many in the community….hats off, those who handle it properly will be stronger for it…I hope those who were injured recover quickly, have a great off season, and look forward to a better 2024 season Go Dogs!!
  6. I’m still gonna say this…this team is far better than they were week 0….they still make mistakes, yes, but they are a far cry from what they were to start the year…I like seeing the improvement
  7. Tell you what, dogs played their tails off….defense stepped up big time in second half and absent a couple of facemask penalties and a blocked XP, this game look different still in the race, boys! Back to work on Monday
  8. Dang, literally have kept 2 scoring drives alive with face mask penalties that they had stopped…gotta clean that up fellas
  9. FWIW, you said the same about Dayton…if it’s all the same to you, I just as soon we play the dang games…you may end up being correct, but let’s let it play out, just for fun
  10. Keep stacking wins, Dogs….keep building, keep improving, keep battling…like what I’m seeing from these young Dogs
  11. Do spiders hibernate? great win dogs when no one thought you would! Another building block…just put pieces together guys…now on to next week..just keep getting better each week
  12. Now we are getting somewhere…spider is an axe grinder with an agenda perhaps…that’s why he gets on here and complains every 15 minutes good win, Dogs…build on that!! The season started last night and now it’s about improvement every week…the competition will get tougher, but control what you can control, (yourselves)and get better each week
  13. Some people just enjoy being miserable...I say, just let them be miserable by themselves
  14. You did not have similar talent to png last year...the fact that they had a good chance to win that game at the end, could it possibly have anythng to do with coaching? If you are going to look at things, look at them in their entirety.
  15. It was an extreme example on purpose...the point is, just saying that any coach should be able to win no matter the talent level is ridiculous.
  16. I will use and extreme example, but let's just say the KC Chiefs play Sabine Pass in football? If Sabine Pass loses, is it the coaches fault exclusively or do maybe the players/level of talent have something to do with it?? Just labeling your argument as "blaming the kids" is easy and frankly lazy IMO...if you portray someone as putting all the blame on the poor kiddos, it's easy to paint those folks as villains...the bottom line is that sometimes you just don't have the Jimmy's and Joe's...you need good coaching AND good players to have serious success
  17. Forgive Reagan...he isn't too good at math and doesn't realize that you would run out of coaches...maybe then, some of the "coaches" in the stands could take over and we could see how that goes?? And huge agreement with Smashmouth when he added parent and community support to my previous post...those are critical as well.
  18. This stuff isn’t that hard…reality is that you need both, coaching and talent…too many folks live in a world of absolutes, saying “it’s all the kids” or “it’s all the coaching “ when neither is true…great coaches have bad years and talented teams fail to meet expectations all the time il assure you this, there ain’t many no talent teams winning championships but plenty of very talented ones who have success, but don’t win the whole thing
  19. Bally's is far better...they used to be Fox Sports Southwest and broadcast the Rangers and Mavericks as well...they carry of the state championship games
  20. I have only seen SOC from last week, but based on that small sample size, I believe that png has an excellent chance to win this game...SOC is big, but png can somewhat match that...I was impressed by the SOC defense, but not so much by the offense
  21. Well, I will reserve judgement on the new coach until we can see what he does, however, not reaching out to an "open door" to the most successful coach in college football is ludicrous and I simply cannot understand that
  22. The unfortunate truth is that coming to Lamar would be potentially career killing for Barbay, who is a star on the rise in the coaching ranks…he will get his HC opportunity based on his success and it will be better than Lamar…think about what a couple of 1-10 seasons on the resume would do for Barbay, who is a star on the rise…until Lamar proves it will support its athletic programs, any coach coming here is taking a serious risk….how many HC calls do you figure Coach Morgan will get going forward??
