Sunshine, thanks for the question.  Silsbee lost some quality players, to be sure.  The strength of the Silsbee team of 2006-07 was that everyone knew their role - including those off the bench.  They had great team concept and execution.  For this season the Tigers have some good players but it is yet to be seen how they gel as a team.  Coach Williams believes in the TEAM concept and there will not be a BIG STAR at Silsbee. 

From watching JV and Freshman last year there might be some "Self Proclaimed Hotshots" there - that won't last long.  Silsbee will be the same as in years passed - well coached in their roles, some good athletes, and unpredictable as usual. 

so in your opinion how good will they be compared to last year, tigersvoice?

man you are crazy HJ could not even hang with the teams that Silsbee was playing before they moved down to 3a think before you talk listen to yourself BUNA and EVADALE better than SILSBEE man you are in for a rude awakining if you think Silsbee cant hang with HJ because we will win and we do have tradition it is just on a higher level that was harder to achieve upon in the past but we are reloding and HJ will not always be on top i dont think that HJ would be state champs on the 4a level so keep talkin you cant even say anything until you play harder teams like Silsbee did in the past

so what is it will you beat HJ or are you reloading?

I have a question im sure you all can help me with im not trying to be smartellic but i thought silsbee lost all their big guys and quite a bit of there guards(did they lose the guy that was all Region all tournament team?). Did they? im just asking cause i dont know. 

well this year HJ will not have even half the talent as Silsbee in the point guard or height division so i think it wont even come down to the coaches HJ is going to lose and they got lucky last year when it came down to it

hj will no doubt be just as strong if not better in the point guard spot. and HJ may not be as tall but height can be overcome with fundamentals which hj gets taught very well

i dont know how in the world you can say silsbee will be better and hj wont even make the playoffs. Silsbee lost all there big guys(that played) and many key guards. Hj lost donahoe( which is big cause ive never seen another player with that talent and leadership. He knew what to do and when to do it. If you ever got in trouble you always knew you had a way out with him there) and Durley(i played with him and i dont know how to spell his name but  Even if you say he was no good he changed the game by just being inside.) Thats it for Hj. I believe Hj will win the district hands down and Silsbee will be making the playoffs with either WOS or Jasper. A repeat for HJ can be done but it will take every thing going perfect just like last year. You cant have an injury or anything to ruin it all. itll be tough but it can be done. Like our coach told us today There has only been a handful of teams to repeat as state champs in 3A.

and hj basketball had to beat silsbee in regionals to advance...so did the baseball team...

yep your dumb silsbee didnt even make the playoffs in baseball and we havent even made it to regionals?? what are you talking about????

whats funny is the HJ basketaball team played at this gym on there way to state. Coincidence????

Don't just love "playas" that sit at the computer and tell us how good "they" are, when in reality they've never played a minute on the court and probably never played at any sport at any level that matters. except maybe on their dads little league team!

why didn't treece throw against jasper???

i dunno why He didnt throw but the kid who did throw didnt do bad. After the first he calmed down and i dunno how many runs were earned but more than half were off of errors

lets hope HJ can pull it together and make the playoffs. it may be hard without one of there best pitchers.
