1. Definition of MVP in my opinion: A player, who without his presence on the team, the team would not have won as many games or advanced as far.  In other words, take the MVP out of the picture, the team is much less without him even though it takes a whole team to compete.  Some kids get hurt and leave a team, but the results are still the same (win, win, win!), so that kid wouldn't be an MVP, maybe a great player, but did not affect the team's overall success. Thames was MVP, hands down, and there was a couple of others who were really close to the title!
2. Congrats to the Eagle baseball team on a great season. Ups and downs of life make you stronger, but unfortunately, the pain never really subsides. You have much to be proud of during the season! Good luck to the seniors moving on and the strong Hill teams to come. With Denny around there will be many strong teams, true teams with a true TEAM concept, which trumps the "ACE concept" anytime, anywhere!
3. With those 70 mph pitches, heck, the Garrett kid might be ready for Saturday:) Seriously, though, get going Eagles!!! You have worked hard to get to this point.  Regroup, get it done.
4. Way to go eagles! Very impressed by the boys never say die attitude. No superstar on this team just a really great bunch of ball players and a really great coach and staff. This team will go all the way with that combo and their attitudes.
5.
Yes. He pitched all nine innings. 127 pitches. Also had the lead off double in bottom of 9th. that was the winning run. He delivered big time!
SCARYYYYYYYY!  Remember Austin Wood from UT going and going and going? Career cut too short, probably for that outing.
6. BH got a radio station or kids who can broadcast?  KEGL? If not, sounds like something that BH's kinda money could pay for and create!
7.
The Denny Boys need to beware of the College Station Curse. Not a good idea for a former and future Longhorn to play at Ice Cream Park. Still got the Eagles in 3. (The BH Eagles)
I bet they don't believe in that crap! too strong of men
8. Eagles in 3 (makes them tougher to go 3 games!), plus the girls basketball team plans to put some voodoo on the G-Town eagles to help the boys revenge that tough loss.
9. What will BH Do with Thames tomorrow if it goes to Game 3?
10. I think BH is bringing up a kid from the JV to pitch this one!! He' s something else! Thames, Hallen and the JV boy...They've got it wrapped up!
11. **Notes on STAAR testing If any student in the school is taking any test at any time that day, no playoff game can be scheduled Monday through Thursday, as required by state law. Once testing is complete for the week, teams may schedule playoff games beginning the following day, provided they remain in compliance with UIL rules for scheduling playoff games. On Friday, when there are timed tests that end at a time certain, with school approval teams could travel no earlier than 30 minutes after the scheduled end of tests on Friday. If any test for any student on a team involved in a post-season contest occurs on Friday and is an untimed test, travel for that team is not permitted until the end of the school day. If there are conflicts between a playoff series and the state track meet, it is recommended (but not required) that schools schedule only a onegame series.
12. Good to have a tough match up early in LCM it seems. Brenham is always tough but I take BH in 2. Good season LCM
13.
The Denny kid is the real deal! A 2014 draft, I think.
Would he go? Or would dad want him to go to college?
14. I agree with an earlier poster who said BH doesn't need to be over confident with this team. If they come out cocky, bad things will happen for the hill and good things for the bears. If BH plays ball like they have all season, good things will continue at the hill.
15. They have a great population too! People don't leave WO-S just like people in North Shore don't leave. They breed athletes over and over.
16.
HF does not pay worth a crap.  Hard to keep good coaches if you can't compete with other schools concerning salary.
True! These teachers are starving, especially in HF. Im sure the cost of living isn't too high there, but the people who live there must go to higher cost living places to shop and eat. HF used to be a great school and their athletic department was also top notch. They have such great families there. Sad they are in this sad of shape. Money doesn't grow on trees (well, I guess they don't have those either!), but paying your teachers state base isn't acceptable and will only lead to more trouble down the line. Bring back the HF I knew in HS.
