1. Kountze takes this one. too many athletes on the field for trinity.
 2. From what i have seen from kirbyville so far... QB - MUCH improved from the cleveland game. Granted, cleveland secondary is better than Buna's, but he didnt panick and just throw stuff up. Looked much more comfortable in the pocket, found his receivers and was on the money with his passes. much different than what i saw in week 0 against the indians. RB's - Wish i could have seen haywood in action, from what I hear hes not too shabby. Jacko is athletic, but in my opinion danced around in the backfield too much. With great speed and agility you can do that, but i think Jacko would be more successful hitting the hole wide open. hes got some size and could run people over, and has enough agility to make moves when he needs to. Defense - Had trouble stopping the run against Buna, but Ford is a Truck in the backfield (no pun intended). On several plays there were recievers with no one out there to even cover them.  ??? ? Also noticed they struggled at picking up backs coming out of the backfield for passes. With kirbyville's speed advantage I was surprised we got that open. esp with fullbacks. However, i think most of this was probably because Neece wasn't worried about the pass much. Just stacked the box and sent people to try and stop the run. So its' hard to do that and cover passes too. Im sure it will be different this week. Kicker - Holy smokes??!?  ??? Kirbyville has kicker!! (perfect onside kick by the way) Coaches - Was impressed with the play calling on offense. Took one series to find Buna's weak spots and did a good job exploiting them. Defensive game plan was good for the matchup. Overall - Kats should fight for playoffs in this district. They have some weapons but not enough of them im afraid to hang with Newton or EC. Would like to see how they look healthy. Good luck Kats.
 3. By the way we have been playing, im scared to make a prediction. With 11 turnovers in 2 games, (and a lot of them being within the 10 yrd line) it's hard to beat anybody. I do not know much about liberty this year. Im sure they will have some athletes and speed as usual.  :-[ not good for the cougars. However like central and kirbyville, i doubt they will be able to stop Big D. I got faith in my cougs... look for a better showing this week.  Cougs take this one.
actually kvillecats....our cheerleaders do throw out shirts after touchdowns. So im sure there will be quite a few of them thrown into the stands tomorrow night.  ;D. i cant wait to read this forum friday night and see what your excuse is this week! And then ask your defense how "soft" mr. Ford is.

 7. agreed Ryker. I would like to see them do better. But EC and Newton will be tough..and Anahuac is usually pretty salty also
kvillefan i know its your first year on varsity and you are excited..that or smoking crack? EC or Newton will take 1st spot. Write it down. Realistically, i could see kirbyville making the 3rd spot. But i believe anahuac will be a contender for it also. Theres nothing wrong with rooting for your team faithfully or being optimistic. But before making all these bold predictions id wake up and smell the coffee. 1. Kirbyville wasnt good last year. at all. I dont see what is going to make that change much. 2. Newton has claimed every year that they are loaded and nobody will stop them until close to state. hasnt happened yet....in fact, they havent even won this district yet. Yes i do believe they always are loaded with talent and could go far...but until you actually prove something I wouldnt talk too much. EC OWNS this district for now. they dont get much respect for it. and they dont talk smack or brag about it either. Hopin the "underdog" wins district again.
Newton is loaded every year and they whoop Buna's butt on a regular basis too so.  Anyway back to kville I have seen every quarterback they have on the team and the only one who can throw a little bit is Jackson Gore the freshman but he is a freshman so i hope you don't expect him to lead you to the promise land this season.
mature. the typical newton comment....really doesnt matter to me that you beat Buna. Just sayin like the last 2 years you might be eatin some crow.

 10. 1. East Chambers 2. Newton 3. Anahuac 4.Woodville/kville 6.kountze 7.Hardin 8. Warren
 11. ...coming from the same people that said Kountze was going to win district. Aren't they 1-5 now? With the only win coming from a team who hasnt won a game all year. Agree with you Break_em_off, dont know wether to shake my head or to laugh.
 12. Gimme a break quit making Excuses for jasper. Overlooking? And Buna also pitched 3 people that never pitch either. Buna played better plain and simple. No need to defend them noone from Buna is on here bragging. Trust me there is a reason we play Jasper every chance we get. We'll take every inning we can against a great program like jasper. Only makes you better in the long run. Good luck to the Bulldogs. Hope to see you win district and make another playoff run. Good win by the cougs I can hear #6 comin
 13. 1. Don't think anyone is "bragging" about beating Warren. Just hopeful that maybe finally half of them will shut up now... If they're gonna talk the talk they better back it up and walk the walk. 2. If you make three errors in one inning, maybe that means youre not very good. Consistency is what seperates good teams from great teams. Every team is pretty good when they dont have "bad innings".  Buna also hit a few doubles and a triple in that inning. Warren didnt. Warren made errors, Buna didnt. Warren may have "beat themselves", but Buna didn't. Take away the 3 errors, Buna still wins by a few. Nobody claimed it was a blowout or we earned all 8 runs. Could be a totally different ball game next time. 2 steps closer to # 6 Cougs! Good luck friday
 14.
I do hope Buna puts up a better game than last year when a bunch of sophomores embarrassed them on their home field. As for WOODVILLE, a sophomore pitcher stymied you, got in your feelings and stole your cool. Your batter was called the third out after his stunt. 9-9. Tournament tie breaker is runners to third. WARREN had more. You lost. Get over it.
I LOVE it when a teams claim to fame is when they beat Buna one time in district. Did you win district...no. How many times have you made playoffs in the last century? and then say "embarrased" on their home field. How about Buna playing in the 3rd round of playoffs last year while you were eating peanuts in the stands. Or warren being a doormat in every sport for 50+ years? Come on Man. The Cougars aren't taking anybody lightly, trust me. They know they'll be facing a good team tonight against Warren. Should be a ball game. Good luck Cougs
 15.

1. Buna 2. East Chambers 3. Warren In order to be the best, you must beat the best.
If I recall, both East Chambers and Warren did just that last year...
\ If I also recall, in the last 5 years Buna has only went through district one time undefeated. As I also recall, Buna has won district every, let me reemphasize that, EVERY district championship in the last 5 years they have been in this district. thats why you play every team twice. Doesn't say much when you beat Buna by one run then get ten run ruled by deweyville the same week.  To be the best you have to be good for 12 games, not 6-8. This district looks to be more competitive this year with talented pitching from a few different schools. But as the same as the last 5 years, the Cougars will let the naysayers fuel them. Cougars comin for number 6. Reminds me of East Chambers in football. Not many people give them the respect they have earned. Newton and anahuac are predicted to win it every year...and every year EC gives them their butt whippen and wins district outright.
 16. Same as the last 5 years when everyone says anahuac, dville, ec, kountze, warren will win it. Yes, there are good pitchers in the district in hardin, kountze, and warren. Yes, there are also other good hitters and fielders. But it takes Good pitching, good hitting, and good defense to win it all. Buna has proved to be the best in this district at putting those 3 together. Its hard to go undefeated in baseball. Im sure the cougs will lose a few they shouldnt just as others do, and everyone will think this is their teams year to win district. But come end of the season the cougars will stand with their 6th consecutive district championship. Good group of talented boys on the diamond this year that will be well coached and disciplined. Walden, Clark, and Franklin on the bump for Buna with a solid D behind them, should be a fun season to watch. Go get # 6 Cougars.
 17.
Orangefield under Hucaby has consistently played way over their heads, I just hope at some point people notice and he gets a nod for Coach of the year.
Agree. Best thing that's happened for OF
 18.
Buna can't hold of the Anahuac offense...Gotta go with Anahuac..
and anahuac cant hold the cougar offense...This game could be decided by a td or less. should be a shootout barring turnovers. Good luck Cougs. Make it happen
 19.
There should be an exception to this rule whenever a lineman scores a touchdown.  If a big boy gets in the endzone he should be allowed to break dance, moonwalk, stick the ball beneath his jersey and pretend he is giving birth, whatever his heart desires. No issue with flagging qb's, rb's, or wr...just let the big man celebrate because he may not get another chance.
hahahahahah totally agree
 20. Would love to see my cougs take Newton to the woodshed too. Of course, Newton will be the favorite in the matchup. But Buna is good enough to win if Newton doesnt show up with their A game. The most talented team doesnt always win. Play hard for 4 quarters, force a few turnovers, execute on offense....and it could get interesting  ;D Give em heck Cougs.
 21.
In my opinion this kid is overrated, he has played three teams that if they were combined wld probably rate 6 or lower on a scale of 1-10. When he plays someone good they gonna bust em in the mouth and everyone will find out that hes overated
Im telling you,  I didnt get into all the hype etiher.....but you see him in person and you'll change your mind. Yes i agree, hemphill's opponets have been fairly weak. He might not have quite as much success against better defenses. But consider whos blocking for him. No knock on hemphill they do a good job and play hard for 4 quarters. But i promise you his o line isnt making his stats for him. they havent just overpowered every d-line theyve faced. Almost every play twine drops back and then finds a hole and scrambles, or takes the snap and outruns everyone to the sideline. And everyone knows its coming. You just cant stop it. His yards are hard earned (although he makes it look ridiculously easy) If he was in 4 or 5a, youd still be reading about him on this site. Not to mention hes tough as nails and has to be the most in-shape player around. Had 95% of carries all 4 quarters, never once slowed down, never once got up slow. Kid is a player. my hats off to em
 22. Guess twine was just getting warmed up in the first qtr lol :o :o :o :o
