What happened to Big Sandy?  They just pack it in to wait for the playoffs?  To me, district Champ means a whole lot more than co champ or second place.  Well, good luck to both teams in the playoffs.  WH playing WOS?!  Look out Mustangs, here come the Oilers!

It was a real good game by both teams.  Cathedral missed some crucial shots and foul shots which I feel cost them the game.  Cathedral heads into bi-district this weekend.  I think they will be headed to the TAPPS State tourney in a few weeks.  East Chambers is a great team, their coach is a class act and the Thomas kid is some kind of player.  I wish them the best against Kountze this weekend.  I always hate when we lose but losing a close one to a great team like EC is encouraging for our kids and our program.

Maybe the Raiders should have sent their girls team to the game, it would have been a better game judging by the score.  I have seen Lumberton through the years off and on and for a varsity team to score 16 points is pretty pitiful, no matter who they are playing.  What is the opposing team supposed to do, lay down on the court.  Come on Raiders, I know you are better than that.  The coach is a good guy, he will get them back to being competitive.

My heart and my mind go with the Hornets.  From what I have seen they are in the driver seat.  They seemed to have improved a lot lately and that kid Marsh.....he comes from one tough family.  Good Luck Hornets

The main thing here is that he did not single out or humilate one or two players in front of the whole team.  I guess we "old school" guys agree on one thing, we wouldn't run home to mom and dad and tell them what the coach said or made us do.  I have heard lots of worse stories in my day.  Some times young men and young women as well just need to take stock of what they are trying to accomplish and they need to look deep inside themselves. 

I agee with Stang....the kid should have stayed away from the other team after the first tech.  He had to show a little attitude though.  I don't think he pushed the ref or caused the fall though.  That looked a little fake to me.  A guy like that with a lot of talent has got to deveop a tough skin and have a lot of self control as well.

My vote if for EC but as everyone has mentioned, it is going to be TOUGH in Kountze.  These two will probably have to playoff for the District Champ. like they did two years ago.

Emery was not a tough test as evident by the score but the Warriors are gearing up for a run in the playoffs.  Unfortunately Cypress Community out of the Tomball area is in their district and is one of the BEST high school teams I have EVER seen at ANY level and I have been watching high school basketball for 25+ years.  There is a strong possiblity the Warriors will meet up with Cypress in the State TAPPS 4A Finals.  I have a very strong feeling that will happen. I know it is early but any details on the Hoopinsider Playoff Preview?  What day is it scheduled for?  Thanks for any information.

What was Warren's pre district schedule like?  I think the coach needs to schedule some tougher teams.  What were they going into District 19-1 or something.  It is all down hill from here looks like.  Good thing West Hardin isn't in the district this year.

Too much momentum???  Sounds like Hardin was a runaway train and Deweyville just got in the way!  Way to go Hardin Hornets!

I am with WHS, I thought Lamar had sent an intramural team over to Huntsville last night.  Hall may change his mind!  Seriously, I heard this kid had some problems so hopefully he has become focused and can help these guys out next year.

Don't see anything wrong with what they have going on up there.  Not "un-Texan", not "un-American".  Take a look at their website.  They appear to be a VERY competitive school in all sports.  Several trips to state tournaments in basketball, softball/baseball, cross country/track.  I applaud the coaches and kids as well as the school district.  Don't get me wrong, I love football as much as anyone but it is not the end all part of any schools identity.

Now that was not only funny but just plain bad luck for that kid!

That video was hillarious.  It is great to see those guys having a good time.  Wonder what HC said about that though.  You can't take life (i.e. high school sports) so serious all the time.

I have watched this kid grow the past four years.  I think he has great skills and he is a great young man.  My hat is off to his coaches (and father). 

My congratulations goes out to Coach Evans for a wonderful season. He is a great guy, watched him do wonderful things in Winnie for a long time.

I vote for the Williamson kid from Vidor, I saw him light it up at Cathedral, he has got some kind of shot.

Any details on this coach, i.e. first name, age, years at Liberty, hometown. I am a former coach and always will be, so my heart goes out to those in this special fraternity.
