  1. Boulwen is '6"4, Walker is '6"5. Johnson playing the wing is '6"2 and will be the most athletic player on the floor in most games.
  2. Silsbee returns 7 off state finalist team. 2 starters (Jones who was Newcomer of Year and Rice who was 1st all district). 5 reserves (Boulwen 2nd team all district, Gaines 2nd team, Shoulders honorable mention, Johnson and Walker). Silsbee JV was district champs. Next year's starting five: Jones Rice Boulwen Johnson Shoulders I predict another district championship for Silsbee and their 11th straight trip to regional tourney
  3. 136 is the most for me
  4. FYI, the names I listed are strictly a list of players in the BE coverage area and not our coverage area. Otherwise, that list would change quite a bit. Speaking of teams I have seen this season. My total of teams I personally saw this season ended up at 121. Game total ended up at 108. That's now 8 consecutive seasons I have seen 100+ teams.
  5. That's the other Big Sandy, up in East Texas.
  6. Lamar is not winning this one down 63-47 with 7 minutes left. But I would have been very curious if McNeese still would have made tourney if they had lost this game. They are projected as a 13 seed but that projection has them winning the conference tourney too. IMO, if they were to lose this game or the next, they still are a NCAA tourney team.
  7. Kind of surprised that no player from San Augustine made all region.
  8. 9. After. Like I said, some require a masters, some do not. And some ask that it's obtained within a few years of hire. Not all AD jobs require masters. But some do require and others prefer. In a lot of those situations, when it's preferred, the applicant with a masters will be considered more so than the one who doesn't.
  10. As why it's interim. Like I stated, some on the board want it to be a requirement. Doesn't matter to me. I think McDonald would be a good promotion.
  11. McDonald will be interim until new supt. is hired. Then he could have interim tag removed or the new supt. may open it back up. It's my understanding new supt. will be hired by end of school year. I'm thinking McDonald will be interim through next season.
  12. Trust me. He does have a masters in Ed from SFA.
  13. I know for a fact that Bridge City AD/HC Josh Smalley has a masters degree.
  14. But here are some names to consider for that 2nd team: (no particular order) Bottley - Silsbee Winn- LC-M Seastrunk - Hamshire-Fannett Garrett - West Brook Wrinkle - Orangefield Scales - Orangefield Williams - United Young - PA Memorial Hilstock - PA Memorial
  15. I hear ya. Think I'll let BE handle that. Don't want any daddies or mommas blowing me up. lol I will say that if Miller is 1st team, then Sells is the first selection for 2nd team.
  16. Who would be the 2nd five?
  17. Shoulders will start before Gaines.
  18. As for COY, I thought Coach Randall did a great job with his BC team. I also think Coach Castille at WO-S deserved to be in the COY running. WO-S won only two games last year and this year ended up 3rd seed and made playoffs. In regards for Joe Sigler. I can see him getting COY just because of how Silsbee dominated the district, 12-0 and never any close game. Averaged right at 100 per game, giving up just 55. Averaged beating district opponents by 40. That may have worked against him. Some look at what is done with less more than what is done with more. I have no real problems with the selections here. (well, maybe just one) All good with me.
  19. It was published on KOGT. An Orange County media source. I wouldn't expect them to have pics of players not in their coverage area. They cover Orange county schools. So they promote those athletes and teams. Nothing wrong with that. It's just like the Silsbee Bee only posting pics of Hardin County teams and players. No difference.
  20. I agree. Kids never quit. So proud to be a Silsbee Tiger.
  21. No state championships awarded that year.
