TABC State Rankings/Updated Feb. 2
AggiesAreWe replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Boys Basketball
A few other interesting points about these preseason rankings: Atascocita could be pretty special this season. They are playing in several national tourneys and one day events. They will be battle tested come district time. Some say this is the year for Baytown Sterling to replace Barbers Hill in the playoffs. If that happens, then United would go DII and that could provide an opportunity for both Beaumont schools to make it to San Antonio. Will be interesting to see. Looks like Orangefield and East Chambers will again battle for district supremacy. If Kountze fails to make playoffs and Anahuac does, that would send East Chambers to DII. My money is still on Kountze getting in the post season. San Augustine could make some noise in the region. They have a new coach as well. Big Sandy is back in the rankings after a "un Big Sandy" type season last year. Brookeland again head and shoulders above the local 1A's but the district that 28-1A faces in the 1st round is loaded. 27-1A has #10 Wells, #11 Kennard and #12 Groveton Centerville along with an always tough Broaddus team. Getting close to that time of year. Looking forward to another great basketball season. -
A win by United can really mix things up in this district. Barbers Hill with a win gives them the inside track to the playoffs. DCTF has Barbers Hill as an 8 point favorite. Give me Da Hill, 29-18

Playoff spots on the line in this one. DCTF has HJ as a 1 point favorite. I like the Hawks in this one, 24-21

Who ya got in this match up. DCTF has Hamshire-Fannett as a 16 point favorite. Silsbee kind of exposed HF last week. Not good defending the run and protecting the QB with no real run game. But Jasper is struggling. Give me HF, 35-14

I agree. I don't care what the amount. That's as bad as it gets when it comes to football bets.

The crazy growth around Hwy 59/I-69 corridor
AggiesAreWe replied to TrojanWarrior08's topic in High School Football
I want to say Cleveland was 4A in 2018. 7 years later they are 6A. Went from a 900 high school enrollment to now 3736. 4x larger in a 7-8 year span. Those are just the numbers, which is very unbelievable, but does not account for who those numbers represent. That's the real issue. There are only 32 schools out over 1200 in the state of Texas that has a larger enrollment than Cleveland. Just about every single one of them are larger metro area schools. No one could have been prepared for what Cleveland has had to go through. NO ONE!!! -

You are wasting your time trying to explain that situation to that guy. He don't get it or want to get it. -
