It's really sad that the only way I can get some of these basketball results is by e-mailing the head coaches directly. I've checked Twitter, Scorestream, Maxpreps just trying to find a final between La Porte and Sterling to update the standings...

I remember seeing 3 for the championship game between United and GC-M.

Yes, everyone wants to be that team that puts a 1 in the L column. Funny you say that when Channel 12 was covering a tournament game that featured Evadale and Tarkington on Friday. Last night it was the East Chambers game. But after talking to the sports director, they are working short handed, 1 person doing a 3 person job plus they are on vacation, so I'll let them make it.

Man that's too long of a trip to be doing a one day. Plus, IF they make it that far, the girls 6A semi-finals is on that Friday and the Finals are on that Saturday.

One game at a time but we should be able to finish the regular season 34-0. The main goal is to make it to San Antonio, my room is already reserved...

Many of our teams just finished their last tournaments of the year this week. They should see better officiating the remainder of their seasons. It all boils down to trying to keep the tournaments on schedule. The more whistles they blow, the longer the game. Last night in our championship game, there were a lot of calls that were not made for the sake of time. Our girls can be physical with anybody but we are also good at knocking down free throws as well as we have some depth on our bench if someone does get into foul trouble. As me and my freshman daughter sat last night and watched the game, I told her that tournament basketball is more physical and that she has to play through contact that would normally be called a foul in a district game. She normally plays PG/SG for her team. Should it be this way that I have to educate my daughter about this when it comes to basketball? No it shouldn't but it is...

I will continue to beat the crap out of this horse until they shut me up by winning some games and at the least making the playoffs. If they can't stop me from speaking at the board meetings and other places, you or nobody else will stop me from talking about the matter on here... 1. Wilson was a viable candidate but wasn't even the best one in my opinion but he would have been better than what is currently in place... 2. Exactly, no skin in the game and they are still the ones making the calls. 3. The biggest mistake that THE POWERS made but hey, he'll have a full off-season now so that's one excuse that can't be used next year...

Why not give them a good coaching staff from the start?

I can promise you that they could win state next year and I wouldn't praise the current head coach and offensive coordinator. Some of the other guys, maybe but not those 2...

I agree, despite us being 19-0, our strength of schedule is relatively weak. That's why we can't crack the top 25 state poll. The Livingston tournament needs to be replaced next year with a tougher one. The tournament this week has some tougher competition so if we can win this one, it will give us a little more weight. HJ vs United should have been on the schedule this year and every year from here on out, alternating locations...

Great post and I agree a 1000% percent except for the part I put in bold. It depends on what community you live in because in mine, it's the opposite. But I do understand what you are saying, it's why our volleyball teams finish at the bottom every year and basketball near the top or at the top...
