  1. Correct, depending on who ends up in 4th.
  2. Playoffs are set, just playing for seeding now.
  3. Haven’t heard anything about it. Never mind I just saw it.
  4. I don’t think so. Those rules are setup by the individual districts not the UIL. So I’m not absolutely sure
  5. Hmmm, I think if Ned and PNG end up with the same record they would flip for the 1st seed.
  6. So what does everyone think?
  7. Something that both schools planned together?
  8. More wishful thinking..
  9. Updated for week 10
  10. I'm not discounting what they have done at the lower levels, I am just saying it doesn't always translate to varsity. Sometimes it does, a lot of the time it doesn't. Now, for some individual players it might, such as Shug but as a team not always. Some of that is because of players moved up to varsity as juniors or sophomores that aren't playing with the same teammates that they were on the freshman level.
  11. how so? All I was hearing a few years ago was how good the sub varsity PNG teams were and how they were going to tear up the district at varsity and beat Ned. Didn't happen.
  12. Ok, PNG lost the game no reason to rehash it. And be careful with the name calling .
  13. And that has nothing to do with varsity. Seems like i was hearing that a few years ago too.
  14. You lost the game. Period. And they don't play again till next week. Crosby is up next.
  15. thank you. I'm no expert, I usually don't dive into all of the possible outcomes, just the most likely.
  16. Ok, I am going to try to answer this. The short a answer is SF has the heads up wins against Lee and Crosby already. So with the standings like this: SF 3-4 Crosby 3-4 Lee 3-4 SF will still go due to the heads up wins against the other two teams. Now if SF had the heads up against Lee and Crosby had the heads up against SF it would get interesting. I think that is where you start getting into point differentials if the rules haven't changed. But, that isn't where we are now. Basically if Crosby loses to Ned or SF beats Dayton and PNG wins against BH, Crosby's playoff chances are over.
  17. Yeah, might need to switch to decaf.
  18. I am not questioning his ability as a motivator or as a moral compass for the kids, its obvious he is very good at both. My thing is as bulldogpower stated is being stubborn about the type of offense and defense that is run and not being open to changing or just modifying it. We see it every two years, the teams that come into the district after realignment have some issues with it until they get used to it, but the teams such as Ned, PNG, Central that have seen it every year for the last 15 or so usually don't have as much trouble defending it. The few exceptions have been the Quirante years and maybe one or two other years in the past.
  19. Coaching is a big part of it. Nederland hadn’t made the playoffs in 6 years before Neumann got there and before that it had been 33 years. Ned went to the playoffs the first year he coached , missed the next two and then reeled off 11 straight and they are currently on another 11 year streak now. The point being, he established the expectation early and held the kids and coaches to it.
  20. So that’s the excuse for the poor defense the last three or four years?
  21. yep
