International Coq Au Vin Day Today is International Coq Au Vin Day! Coq Au Vin is French for “rooster with wine." It is a popular dish made with braised chicken that is slowly cooked with red wine, mushrooms, pork fat, and various spices. According to some legends, Coq Au Vin has ties to Julius Caesar or Napoleon, but most historians agree that the dish has more humble roots. Roosters are only butchered when they are quite old and rather inedible. Peasant families most likely invented the Coq Au Vin recipe to avoid wasting the meat. Coq Au Vin became popular in the United States thanks to Julia Child, who featured the dish in her cookbook Mastering the Art of French Cooking. It also appeared many times on her TV show "The French Chef." Today, it is a popular dish in many French restaurants, but it is also a fabulous dish to cook at home.
Pft....... In Liberty and Jefferson County they just call it Kickin-Chicken....AKA Thunderbird or MadDog 20/20. Now OctFeb, put the bottle down and get us to week one already......good Lord another 90+ days of this hog-wash..... ;)
In Chambers County it's called choking the chicken... :o
Ok, take it easy. LOL

Do games usually sell out? Thanks for your help... I'm looking for a real Texas experience and you can't do that without seeing a game. Darren
Call the Vidor Ticket office. They usually realease, OH 4 or 5 for each game. ;) ;) On a serious note, save your 12 bucks and just drink beer with the rednecks accross form the stadium. Can't miss them, there will be a disco ball and a BBQ pit in the front yard. Flying into Houston and then driving east into Louisiana for the Creole Trail. Then we're headed back to Houston sat night for an Astros game, San Antonio (the Alamo) then Austin. Plenty of BBQ i've done my homework on too. The reason why east Texas works is because we'll be coming in Friday afternoon and then starting the Creole Trail in Sulphur on Sat morning. phatmack19: Thank you! I will do that!
haha, they play the Yankees that night.
HAHAHAHA maybe you will get a great surprise and have the Astros beat the Yankees... :-D
Dont hold your breath on that one.

Ok, I got off topic and I admit it!! That's the first step in the 12-step program right?

Good Lord, give the guy a chance!! Like someone said, it will take a couple of years to turn that program around. If the parents let him do it. -
The NHS office number is 409-727-2741. by the way.
Thanks -- Saw that they're playing Vidor. They're a rival, right? I'll only be able to pick up a ticket right before the game. Do you think i'll have a problem? Is there anything I should know --- Like how is parking? Thanks again.
LOL at the rival part. It depends if you want to sit on the home side or visitor side. Nederland is at home this year. Parking is ok, you will probably have to park in the neighborhood and walk to the stadium. You should be able to get tickets at the NHS office the week of the game, I would advise getting one on Monday or Tuesday of that week. There will probably be a few tickets left at the gate but i wouldn't risk it.

Most Consistent Sports Program in SETX?
When you add the less recognized sports as well, then I would say PNG, Ned. Soccer, Golf, Volleyball, Softball, along with baseball, football, and basketball. Track is another story, but if you add the majority of those sports then I would say those two for that area.
Ned has had some track success as well, but IDK if over the last five years. -

101 was yesterday. Today is day 100
if you go by the count down clock, then you get 100 days today at 1930 since it is based on the time of first KO. however, it will still be 100 tomorrow for half a day. so, one could say 100 days in the morning when they wake up and say 99 tomorrow night when they go to bed. or we could just leave it on a day to day and today can be 101 all day and turn to 100 at midnight and on the final day resort back to the actual hour count. make sense. ;)
You are way over thinking this.

Be a Millionaire Day It's Be a Millionaire Day! Today is the perfect opportunity to dream big and imagine what life would be like as millionaire! While a million dollars may not be what it used to be, seeing a seven-figure number in your bank account is still considered a major financial milestone. The first multi-millionaire in the United States was John Jacob Astor (1763 – 1848). Astor made his fortune in trade and later established the first trust in American history. His great-grandson, John Jacob Astor IV, was the wealthiest person aboard the Titanic.
Coincidentally someone just hit the Powerball jackpot! One person!

He has tried to get several head coaching jobs in the past and finally got his chance with Central. I wish him well and hope he has success at Central. But, Coach Haynes has been a successful head coach and athletic director for years. How is he the "new Toby Foreman". He left Hardin and threw his name in the hat for Westbrook, was a finalist, then BISD decided to go with Flanigan. Other than that, he has been patiently waiting for the right job. He would do a great job there in Lumberton. Hope we find out soon who gets this job. Have any other names been thrown out there?
