  1. Buna      4-1

    Hardin    4-1

    E-C        4-1

    Kountze 3-2

If Kountze wins against Deweyville and Hardin beats E-C Then Buna goes big school and Hardin and KOUNTZE go.E-C would be out by tie breaker to Kountze. What a great district and one more exciting week to go.

After the Buna/E-C game it is hard to not be flat and both teams were tonight. Deweyville took it to Buna for 3 quarters but Buna held on in the fourth with 19 unanswered points. Congrats Kountze and looking forward to the last week in district 24-2A.

  2. Buckster,

you guys keep saying let it go and you keep posting about Buna people. Maybe you can not let it go! E-C won way to go!!! The favorite won by 1 point!!!!!! Great job good luck the rest of the way and I hope you guys go 15-0. Buna's weak schedule must have hurt them because you guy won because of your SUPER STRONG SCHEDULE. Maybe next year our coaches will be smart enough to make a difficult schedule like E-C and we will have a chance to beat you guys next year. Again best of luck the rest of the way!!!!!!

  3. Newton(3-0) Woodville(2-1) San Augustine(2-1) C-C(1-2) Hemphill(1-2) Shelbyville(0-3)

Woodville      Newton          C-C                    SA          Shelby            Hemp

SA                Hemp            Newton              Shelby      Wood              C-C

How do they finish?? My guess is Newton, Woodville and San Augustine.

That means that Woodville plays Buna, San Augustine plays E-C, and Newton plays Hardin.

  4. Do not count Deweyville out guys. Both schools play hard against each other. Buna will win because they have a better line and Deweyville is so thin in numbers. It should be close for the first or second quarter and then Buna will pull away. Sr. night for Buna and the last home game for this offensive line.

  5. Baseball1234,

E-C has played some weak 3A schools. Shepherd 1-6, Orangefield 1-6( who Buna beat also by a larger margin), Hardin-Jefferson 3-4, and Hamshire-Fannett 4-3.

Buna has played Orangefield (already cover that), Burkeville 1-6, Tarkington 0-7, and Hull-Daisetta 4-3.

Combined record of E-C teams is 9-19 and Buna's is 6-22.

Both will have played one playoff team in pre-season, and H-F is no shoe in yet.

Looks like to me that both teams have played a "weak" schedule, but remember that the schedule are made two years at a time.

That being said, forget the records because both of these teams are having great years and this should be a great game. Buna has the best team they have had in school history and E-C is the champ untill someone beats them.

No one (who has any idea about football) in Buna thinks that E-C does not have a great team and that is by far the hardest team on Buna's schedule. E-C is not a one man team but take away that one man and this team is alot different. If you key on Termain then the other guys can still beat you, but if you remove Termain from this team and they are an average team without their largest weapon.

Looking forward to a great game and hope no one is hurt so we can both represent 24-2A in the playoffs.

  6. Alot of post have been made about Buna's weak schedule. Well East Chambers combined record of teams they have played pre-distirct is 9-19. (Shepherd 1-6, Orangefield 1-6, Hardin Jefferson 3-4, and Hamshire Fannett 4-3.) Buna played Orangefield also, so is their schedule reallly that much tougher than Buna's. Buna's combined record of teams they have played is 6-22. (Orangefield, Burkevile 1-6, Tarkington 0-7, and Hull Daisetta 4-3). Each team will have played one playoff team in pre-district. (and H-F still are no shoe in.) Best of luck to both teams and you can forget about each teams record because they do not put points on the board for the best record, you have to earn them. E-C is a very good football team and Buna will have to play well to win but either way I think it will be a great game.

  7. That's why parents should not be allowed on the field, period!!  If there is a problem and the parents are not on the field this can not happen. I'm sure the coaches can handle a "fight" (with pads on) on the field. I know as a parent that if another parent attacks my son he would have to deal with me. Same that this happend and I would bet that the parent that grabbed the kid would take it back, just a heat of the moment. Best of luck to both teams and keep them parents in the stands!!!(LOL)

  8. How about your quarterback telling a Buna coach on the sidelines during the game "How you like that big boy" after completing a pass. I also heard that your HEAD COACH cussed a Buna PLAYER. # 3, while the officals were measuring to see if Hardin made a 1st down on a fourth down play, picked up the ball after it was spotted and moved it forward. I think the offical did not know what to call so he just moved the ball back to where it was.  When Hardin scored their 1st td # 1 mocked the Buna bench while down 28-6. Talk about no class..

  9. buna went all out for homecoming. Brought in a young lady that had graduated from Buna last year to sing the national anthem, then during the rockets red glare they set off fireworks. Buna also put 25 second clocks in this week. What a great game, had to be the largest crowd ever in Buna. Hardin played tough the second half and made the Cougs fight to hold on to the win. Great job by both teams and the best ofluck the rest of the way.

  10. Buna turned in 412.5 kids two years ago and the cutt-off was 415. The half kid is a work program kid, If a kid goes half a day then they count as a half. Buna now has around 380 kids so the number comment is wrong. Buna has been a really small 3A for years and were getting killed, now they are playing schools alot closer to their size. The biggest difference in size of schools is in the 3A classification. Hardin is having a great year and this game should be a great one. Buna is not scared of Hardin but they do not think they are going to kill them either. Homecoming scares me because of all of the distractions, coaches have a big job this week keeping the kids focused. The Buna kids are good kids and this football team has brought a new level of pride in the community that Buna has not seen in a long time. Hadrin has done the same and it is a shame that one of these teams has to get a loss this week. Who ever wins will deserve it, because both teams are playing well. Good luck to both. My prediction is 0-0 at kickoff and we will see at the end of the fourth quarter. ;D

  11. The problem with this arguement is A FEW people post this and that and the whole town gets labeled. If you go back and look I'll bet that only a few have said things about each school. I can not speak for a few from Buna but I can speak for the majority of people from Buna and they have respect for all teams in 24-2A. Also, all teams in 24-2A are passionate about their schools which I feel is what makes this district fun to watch. Best of luck to all and let's remember that these are high school kids that are playing a game. Let the kids play and then you can brag about it the next week. I also agree Buna and E-C don't play for 3 weeks so why talk about it now. If any school tries to overlook another school they could be beat.

  12. EagleFan1, since Newton is so good and everyone else is a joke why do you bother posting about all these schools that don't play anyone and who will never win a playoff game? I feel you have made your point and now it's getting old. The things you say can not be fixed now because the schedule was already made. These schools can not play ya'll because ya'll are way too good for us and then you guys would be playing a weak schedule. So, I would love to see a schedule that you feel that Buna should play. Buna has finally had some success and you want to beat them up for it. Let us little, worthless, weak schedule playing schools enjoy our 15 min. in the sun. Good luck to the newton eagles the rest of the way, but I'm sure you guys will not need it!!! This web site is for fun and peoples options and now you know mine!!!!

  13. The Buna Hardin game will be played in two weeks at Buna. (it's Buna's homecoming) Should be a great game. I love the fact that everyone thinks that Buna is only an offensive team. They have only allowed 12, 6, 7, 6, 7 pts in 5 games. That's 38 if you are scoring at home. I know, I know they have not played anyone (So relax eagleonefan, I said it for you). Buna plays @ Kountze, then Hardin, then @ E-C. So the next three weeks should be a great yard stick for this defense. Kountze runs right at you, Hardin spreads it out and E-C does both. Looking forward to the next three weeks win or lose.

  14. Raidernation. The "onside kick" which we have all ready covered, led to Buna kneeling the ball from the 2 yard line. The person that called in was a wife of an Anahuac coach, who was upset because they believed that the score would be closer. I do not blam her for being upset but that was far from the truth. If Buna ran up the score, why did the Anahuac coaches not say anything about it. As far as a "Classless Act" why is scoring 48 classless.  Buna has been on the other end and Buna has exspected our kids to learn from a loss and not worry about what someone else does. Anahuac played hard and played with class. Congrats to Lumberton and I hope you guys can get in the playoffs for the first time in school history.

  15. raidernation you sure should stay out of conversations that do not concern you. If you would have attended the game you would have seen that the ball was miss hit as the kicker from Buna kicked the ball. The ball bounced of the head of the Anahuac player at about 100 mph. Buna would never run the score up on anyone, besides 2 years agao when Buna was getting the crap beat out of them NO ONE said anything about the other school scoring. (INCLUDING BUNA FANS).
