When your defense stays on the field the entire game because of consistent 3 and ours from the offense, any defense will look horrible... Plus, this was supposed to be a strong group..the best defense for yardage given up, returned all starters but 2...

Front 7 playing well. Secondary playing playing better with Mr. Newton playing great football. The youngsters are playing better ,but will reach their full potential really soon as Silsbee goes into the the meat of the district.

Bruce has 3 that I've counted. As far as scared to throw his way, he is already one of the state's best as he is in the top 40 in the state. That kid did the 'dope a rope' to bait the LC-M kid in... And it works...

Ohh yea... Player of the game, either #5 B. Newton, 2 great well timed Ints or Lil C's 300 yards. Plays of the game. One of Newton's juggle interception or C's 95 yard TD run. Both these young men balled out...

The missed blocking CAN'T be missed by the interior linemen or the strongsidd tackle or TE. The playactin rollout pass always work, but if you're gonna miss a block, let it be in the weakside, away from the play. That way, I'll trust Jones' legs to outrun that pursuit and make the play either by passing or scrambling for a 1st down...

Another thing I noticed. Most of Silsbee's passing routes are too congested. If you do a playaction pass and you have 2 receivers within 5 yards of where the rollout happens, there's many defenders around. I'm thinking dragging another recoever the from the oposite side of the play... Or basically have a deep , medium, and a short recuever nowhere close to each other...

The passing game will be better when Lowe gets back... That a what we've all been waiting for...

You have to pick your poison. You load the box, they you have little help over the top. You leave help out back, Tyler may break one. But I will say this... I wish we exploit the deep pass more to make them pay for not having safety help over the top. Whenever I see no safety or see Corners pressing, I'm going to Kalon..
