  1. Well, truth be told, and this is my opinion of course. Texas, California, Florida, or even New York basketball then everything else. Not shoving it aside, because I like what Silsbee did, but defending state champs, yea, but who did they lose from last year? In HS basketball, it's more accurate with the here and now. Also, beating the #1 team in Texas' biggest classification imo would hold more weight..
  2. They missed a ton the rest of the game, exception 4th period... I though the percentage was lower. Yea, I saw them knock some down in the last few minutes..
  3. Yea, I knew that, but should it be taken into account that United took down the #1 6a team in the state? I know you play who you play, but Silsbee have not pulled a huge upset yet. Just bringing a little debate to yours list.
  4. United had the most horrible game of the the year. They missed SEVERAL point blank shots and layups. They were probably under 25% from the free throw line. And goodness gracious, the 3 ball refuse to fall. WB hit every once in a while, but United played good team d, which is why they won. And made fewer mistakes than Brook. But the Shewolves will need to work on those free throws and 3 ball. I don't think they'll be another game when Kirvin and the other tall girl misses that many point blank shots....
  5. Very very sloppy game. The holding the ball was started by WB in the first half, they were up by 2 I believe. United went up by like 5 and did it. Only reason United went to it wasn't to take time off the clock, but to get WB out of that zone defense. Took WB a while to come out of it and start attacking, but they finally did. I think this game, the coaches should've just let them play and quit dictating the tempo. Very few transition buckets, no dunks and a lot of pass, pass, pass and holding the ball. And United needs to work on their free throws. I was really impressed with WB's Big men. Big 6'8" and Slim Thug Jr. clogged up the middle on the defensive end. I just don't know how you can beat NS by double digits and struggle to this team. Ohh well, I hope it a all out their system...
  6. You realize that United beat Memorial, right?
  7. You can tell he thought about the windmill off the backboard, but he was excited about this dunk....
  8. Well, he's a little more than Coach Abel, but I get your point. lol
  9. I agree with this post. Every single word.
  10. Congrats, Ladies!
  11. How many did Hefner have in this game?
  12. I liked the WO-S coach's fire. He got on their case and should have. He rode the refs and he had every right to do that. But in the grand scheme of things, he knew they couldn't beat Silsbee once if they played this team 10 times, but he wanted his team to play hard. I have no problem with that at all...
  13. He had a reason to. His big man wasn't getting the same calls Silsbee was. That was his gripe...
  14. Final dunk count from the dunk-o-meter. 3-2 WO-S The most SMRJ's were made by Tyler from Silsbee and #23 from WO-S...
  15. Dunk count 2-1 Silsbee. And big man for WO-S is nice. It would be good if he had some other players on his level playing with him. Too bad he's a senior....
  16. Well, everyone was being tight lipped about it, including a statement she released upon leaving Baylor. She evidently didn't want to talk about it. And I heard no mention about it around town too. I'm also glad she'll get another chance.
  17. 90-61 Silsbee
  18. I seen it (the overall record) . And I'm confident that Joubert is the guy to get that basketball back on point..
  19. I'm not a big fan of the current staff. All I'm saying is that coach at South Park has no clue at all. I'd go a different direction first. When the three stooges were at Central, I went to every game. Non of those three had a clue. Heck, it was under them that 10 players played on defense for 5 mins, a game that we lost.
  20. I assume we still don't know why she left Baylor...
  21. Like a set shot...
  22. Not a lot of kids leaving United. You're exaggerating a bit. You have riff raff at both WB and United. And those South Park 8th graders are on a crash course to the Maroon and Gold... Unless the Coach from the west end continues to 'court' them... Smh
  23. Cox? Are you serious? He was part of that horrible regime (the three stooges) that made Central football become a laughing joke. He had athletes galore and had full control over the offense and put up historically low numbers while on Central's sidelines. I mean, I know he's doing well at South Park Middle school. Maybe it is his calling to coach at the middle school level. Kountze don't have the athletes like in Beaumont. And he'll be in a district with the likes of Newton and Corrigan-Camden. He'll get ran off the field with those games...
