1. Word on the street is the Bulldogs got in the power I and exposed them somewhat. Still, Grapeland came out with the win. Maybe this is a case of a highly favored team coming in half cocked, but who knows
 2. wasn't Hemphill 0-fer with him in games this year until he got hurt?
 3. Deweyville beating us does not mean we don't have good backs. They are a great team and will represent our district well. Y'all just try and not go one and done like last year. Good luck Pirates
 4.
Didn't hurt my feelings, just isn't true!
through 4 district games we are averaging 515 yds of offense and 47 points per game and have 5 RB's that are averaging over 10 yards per carry. You are ignorant of the facts.
 5. Oh, I haven't forgotten. We have been most inconsistent, that's for sure.  And if you will look back, I have mentioned that.  The fact remains that we have a good backfield, which is what the poster commented on that hurt your feelings.
 6. Here we go again...........Thrashing???  I wouldn't call 26-14 a thrashing.  From what I remember, Deweyville took a lead into the 4th quarter of that game.  Y'all beat Hemphill 46-6??.......we had 51 points before the 3rd was over and the 2's were already playing......comparing common opponents is not going to help your argument.  Once again, see Alto game.  Glad you remember 2 years ago......I still remember the 80's-90's when you were our punks most every year.  That is about as relevant to this year as 2 years ago when we BEAT you at YOUR HOUSE.  This all started because someone gave us a complement and you couldn't stand the fact that, in that compliment and in their opinion, we were better than you at one aspect of the game.  Get over yourself........
 7. Be glad you are not in it.......it isn't the 2 man show that your district is.  There are 4 teams in it that can play with you and Alto.  You would have to play week in and week out.  There aren't any Cushing's in this district......

Big game for the pirates which they can take if they play to their potential!
Well said, Groveton is no pushover and IMO has the best Backfield we have played.  Tackling on Defense will be paramount this week cause one missed tackle and these guys can take it to the house quickly. Focus has been a strength of this Team/Coaches all year.  I believe the Pirates will be concentrated on the task at hand which is to beat the Indians in the biggest game of the year for them.
How quickly we forget! I think SA probably had the best backfield that yall have seen this year! Good Luck!
Ain't forgot nothing, IMO Groveton has the best Backfield we have seen this year.
Yall are in big trouble then, because our meeting didn't turn out to well for yall!
::) Jesse your the ONLY SA poster that has a problem moving on from our games, the others are respectful and give credit where it's due, except you.  Have you seen Groveton play this year? That's my opinon. Watch film or if you have seen them play then you could form an opinon also about the backfields, if not why would you question my opinon?  ;)
Is this the only post of mine that you've read about D-ville? I have had nothing but respectful things to say! I'm glad to see yall having success. I've commented several times on how the attitude of the players and the atmosphere of our game was greatly improved. But, what you must forget is that just a short year ago we won that district! So that means that I have watched Groveton. And while I'm sure that they have improved, I don't think that they match up anywhere close to the backfield that the Wolves' have. Just like I said, IMO if they are better equipped than we are yall are in a lot of trouble considering that you couldn't stop us. Again I say, Good Luck! Please look back and read some of my other posts before you start ruffling feathers! I will be following yall in the playoffs and cheering you on!
Groveton's backfield is improved this year, if you haven't seen them this year then you wouldn't know that therefore you do not have all the info you need to make an informed decision. I don't have to go read your posts, I already read them and I stand by my post. Not gonna rehash our game this year, just check the stats of the game and I believe you will see that we did stop SA on several possessions. Good luck to SA, regardless we still support the Wolves.
Let's just agree to disagree. My opinion is different than yours and neither of us is going to change it! Yall did get a few stops against the Wolves. Good Luck this week! The only thing better than y'all beating Groveton would be us beating them!!!!!!!
It could have something to do with the fact that you guys base out of spread with 1 or 2 at most backs at any given time.  We base out of 3 back and have 6 pretty good ones, 5 of which have gone over 100 or 200 many times in individual games.  Plus our QB goes for 150 every once in a while to go with it.  As far as y'all beating us, y'all may could if we played y'all as inconsistent as we have at times this year.  If the team showed up that pounded Alto 40-20 on week 1, you may be in a bind.  Enjoy 1A and just be glad we turned in 204.  There would be another rooster in the Region 3 - 1A hen house.......

You have benefited from the district being unusually weak.
89falcon you dont Have A freaking clue what you are talking about, Just because deweyville finaly got A coach that knows what he is doing and we are successful YOU are going to come on here and come up with this bullsh-t that it is cause we are in A weak district, You are CRAZY.
I watched every game DV played for the last few years. If you think the district is not weak you are way out. Corrigan has the worst team that they have had in MANY years, Hemphill is in shambles without their best player, NW is down, Groveton is in transition, Anderson-Shiro is a first year team. This is common knowledge.
what do you mean when you say "Groveton is in transition"...............trying to figure out what you could have meant by that.
 10.

yes, that is correct.  I believe if yall win by 12 or more, and beat Groveton, yall will win the district.  However, you can beat NW by 873 points, but if you lose to Groveton, you stay home.
This is correct and dont take this the wrong way but Groveton we are not worried about,Respect them but not Worried about that game
good to hear.............

 12.
Your numbers are incorrect. Coach Finney provided these official stats. Hull-Daisetta - 310 yards Groveton - 135 yards HD whipped Groveton. HD donated 14 points to yall off of a blocked punt and a 93 yard fumble return. Yall were darn lucky to escape with the win. When the game ended you could see the Indians were beat up. HD lost a game nobody ever loses. Sucks. Total yards say it all. Congrats on the early Christmas present.  ;)
Donated????  I don't think yall could afford to spot us anything before the game started.  It looked like to me that we forced a fumble(strip drill) and ran it back behind great blocking.  Then we later blocked a punt(effort required) and then returned it back behind good blocking.  Those two touchdowns were earned and you will not take the credit away from our kids by claiming that you "donated" it to us.  Yall stacked the box with 8-9 men and we still ended up with 4 yards per carry.  And you are saying you whipped us?? Here's a stat for you..........Scoreboard.  The only one that makes a hill of beans.  I'm sure if you ask Coach Finney if he would rather have the most yards or the most points, I have a good Idea what he would tell you. As far as the stats go, mine are correct and cross checked, and as I mentioned, include all negative gains and penalties. Keep worrying about the game you lost to us though.  It will only get you a bleeding ulcer and a tail kicking by Lovelady because you are looking over your shoulder. Good Day
 13.

Jeeez man, just heard the total yards on this game which makes me even more sick that HD lost..... Hull-Daisetta - 310 yards Groveton - 135 yards Gotta learn from that and finish drives.
Total dominance between the 20's.
and a LACK there of on the scoreboard.....seriously, this is the most I have heard of anyone gloat over getting beat.  Stats I have are Hull 73 plays, 272 yards.  That is including penalties and negative gains.  That comes out to 3.72 ypp.  Groveton ran only 34 offensive plays for 158 yards which comes out to 4.64 yyp.  Once again, this is after all penalties and negative gains.  The only thing you dominated in was the time of possession.  I give you credit for keeping the ball away from Groveton and keeping your defense off the field.  Our biggest problem was shooting ourselves in the foot because of dropped pitches that we had to fall on that killed our drives.  Not to mention 2 missed deep balls. You guys played a good game, but great teams find a way to win and that's what Groveton did with special teams and defensive scores, and a game winning drive when we really needed it.
 14.
Last pass picked off on a hail mary. Indians - 20 Bobcats - 14 HD dominated the game but Groveton capitalized on HD mistakes. The refs made a very quick exit. Still peed off!! Great effort by the Bobcats. Groveton knows how lucky they got. 1A region III better realize real quick that Hull-Daisetta is for real.
You people are unreal. You can't just be happy that you played and lost a hard taught game to the Groveton Indians which are a pretty good football team.  You have to make excuses and say we got lucky. Looked like to me we made our own fair share of mistakes and we had about 100 yards of penalties called on us to your maybe 30. Bottom line is that you took the lead after Groveton handed it to u on a fumble in their own end of the field and Groveton answered with a 75 yard touchdown drive when they needed it to win the game. Don't tarnish what your kids did by making excuses for them. They played hard and deserve to hold their head up high and keep fighting from here on out. Good job to the bobcats and good job by my Indians to find a way to win on the road.
 15. I think he is a cousin or nephew......Marcquel is a great football player, but better yet, he is a stand up kid.  Yes sir, No sir always and will not be outworked.  Great Kid, and we are proud to have him.
 16.
I hear g-town has a few injuries..that's not good for them..on that note..hemphill 36 g-town 35
we beat them up last week.......your welcome Hemphill!!  lol Your's truly, Groveton Indians
 17. Groveton beat a really good Garrison team 4-1.  1-0 in controlled scrimmage and 3-1 in live half.  Groveton looked like the old Groveton tonight.  Back on the warpath
 18. Groveton won 4-1 through 25 plays and 1 live running clock quarter.  Grapeland never really slowed Groveton down.  2 Indian fumbles in the red zone kept it from being 6-1.  Good starting point for Groveton, but room for improvement.
 19. I would have called the cops, told them of the situation, and allowed them to supervise the two kids while me, my coaches, and obedient kids went to the house.  I think mommy and daddy should have had to make the trip due to their kids actions, but the coach should have made sure the cops were there to look after them for a little while.  That way, the coach would not have given mommy and daddy an excuse to get mad at anyone but the kids.

Nederland's offense was very similar to D'viles this past season. I know after seeing a few games the past few seasons Deweyville was not a "spread" team. Maybe by alignment but not by philosophy. Spread to run is different than spread to pass. Calling a team offense spread by your standards  would indicate more pass than run. Dille averaged 250+ on the ground and 300+ early before qb was hurt. From my view thet ran midline and the veer. That means option if you need an explanation. Give me a break!
It does not matter what you wont to call it , it did not work in D-ville and it will never work in d-ville
Showing your ignorance.......there are a 1000 ways to skin a cat and there are a 1000 systems that are good and sound football.  All of them can be successful if ran properly and if the kids buy into it.  The problem is, that kids have to listen their "know it all" daddy's at home bash the head coach, assistant coaches, play calling, practice methods, and every other thing that they can have an opinion on when the fact is that "daddy" dosen't have the football knowledge to distunguish the indside veer from the counter.  Kinda makes it hard to get kids to buy in and play hard when "daddy" never shuts up at home and let the coaches do their thing. Best thing most parents can do is support the coach in front of their kid, because bashing him only harms their kid.  Leave the coaching football to the guys that do it for a living.  I don't see any of them at your job throwing rocks at you guys when you are mowing........
well for your info I do not bash the coaches at home but I can not help it if I do not care for the system that they try to run and By the way they know better than to throw rocks at me when I am mowing ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D HA    HA
ooooooohhhhhhhhhh..........good to see the "my daddy is tougher than your daddy" is still alive and well in Deweyville!!  Wasn't your last AD 6'8" and about 400 lbs.  Doubt he was worried much about you beating him up.....it is alright for you to not like the system, but you could not even identify the system earlier!!! lol  Shouldn't you be able to identify something before you hate it.

 23. What coach does not apply at different places?.......what coach does not look for a promotion, or the opportunity to take a better or higher paying job? For that matter, what employee that wants to move up at ANY type of job not do that?  Its a pretty normal occurance, even for coaches that stay in 1 place for a long time.  He is afforded the same right and privelages that anyone else would be.  But the fact remains, he stayed and invested 3 years at Trinity.
