Lombardi could not win 10 games at Trinity in 3 years.  And it that district they are in...forget about it......I tell you what Chuck has done, and this is something that I thought I would NEVER see in a million years.  When the Trinity kids go on the road or to track meets, etc..they act right.  Trinity kids for as long as I can remember have acted like stark raving fools anytime you saw them in public.  But over the last 3 years, Chuck as really turned that around.  Which if you ask me, is the first step to getting a program under control.  The kids that would not conform, he got rid of.  That is why the numbers have been "sub Tatum and Cameron Yoe."  There are too many kids at that school that are unwilling to conform to a structured environment. Besides that, the kids were playing some sound football for the first time in a long time.  All the other programs are benefiting from the discipline that Chuck as implemented in football and offseason.......Bottom line, Trinity is a very tough place for a football coach to win.  No one could have done any better that Chuck did in his 3 year stretch.  Say what you want about the HF job interview, he put in 3 solid years at a place that most coaches would haul @** from after year 1.

Met Chuck when he worked here in Groveton. They could do no better than Chuck Langston.  If he wants the job, they should give it to him today.  Good Luck Chuck, From G-Town

They played with the ineligible player all season through the New Waverly game.  Lost to NW or would have to forfeit that game as well.  Kid apparently lives in San Augustine.

[/quote] I think everyone in Groveton is focused on the Indians getting back to playing like we are capable after the last 2 weeks of let downs.  We are very young, but are capable of beating anyone in the district on any given night, if we can eliminate some turnovers and cut down on "young" mistakes.  When it clicks with these young kids, they can be dangerous.  They do things right in the program, and it will show soon, whether in the end of district or after.

I love it.......the most we have given up was 35 all year, and that was to Alto,........this just means we will be moving up in the polls this week after we stand on Hemphill.

They have given up so far, 54 to West Sabine, 52 to Joaquin, 64 to Buna.........Groveton could easily put up 62.  They put up 77 on them last year, and Hemphill's D has not improved a lick.  Timpson held them to 38........the competition is about to get stiffer Friday. 

First district game for 10AA DII.  Which one of these teams gets a leg up on the playoff race? I got: Groveton 62 Hemphill 35

[/quote] I pick SA in this one as well, but do not get carried away.  Alto DESTROYED SA inside the first half.  It was 49-0 at the half or something like that.  They NEVER had a handle on that game.  Also, they played Garrison tighter, but Garrison ended up running away with it in the second half, and from what I heard, there was a scene with some SA Player chunking his helmet in frustration. I think they are a much better team than last year, but facts are facts.  The 2 good 1A teams they have played have beat them soundly.  The other 3 games were against teams that are losing every week.  I'm sure they know that they still have quite a bit of work to do.  They have not arrived just yet.....

Lovelady's #28 is on a completely different level than that of anything Kountze could offer.  You will see for yourself. You are incorrect H-D Bobcat 55.......lovelady beat Groveton by 13 points and got a late td.  It was 19-14 late in the 4th.  Also Garrison beat LL 35-14, but #28 was on the sideline.  Big difference with him healthy.

[/quote] Glad someone brought that up......non-district scheduling looks like it was chosen so the pirates could get some "W's" before district begins.  Someone mentioned them beating NW.  Won't happen.  Hemphill and SA are improved, Groveton still has the ability to be in the playoffs, and Corrigan is real good.

refs that suck..............its not that hard to be correct, honest, not show favortism to either team, and to take some pride in doing a good job.  Quit using your "interpretation" of a rule to make a call.  If all you want is a check, then find something else to do.  Too many refs that you see act like that this is a career.  Everyone know what I am talking about.  You see some guys officiating EVERY sport throughout the year.  Be a ref because you LOVE the game and love doing what you are doing.
