  1. I did a exit file paper for one of my Masters classes. (I am in the radiology field) it was an orthopedic imaging paper so I did it on Tommy John surgery or UCL (ulner collateral ligament) replacement surgery. What a lot of people do not realize is that while throwing the curve ball absolutely places more stress on the UCL. Studies have shown the type of pitches can contribute to injury as well, such as curve balls and sliders, but the most important factor is limiting the total number of pitches to prevent injury. Proper warm up and icing after throwing are also import.   The VOLUME of pitches is what the main problem is in this day and age.   So back in us "OLDER" guys era we played city ball a game or two a week or a practice or two, very seldom more that 3 or 4 events a week. BUT now days you have kids playing city league ball and select ball, and some play on multiple select teams. So it is nothing for them to leave their little league practice and head to select practice all the while chunking the tater 50-60 times per practice. Not to mention 4-6 innings on the mound at Ford Park on the weekend and then hitting the mound for another 3-6 innings at the little league park. Plain and simple as a parent you need to police what your child is doing and decide where their arm is needed the most. Dont let them throw a hundred pitches at the Select tournament on the weekend and then turn around on Monday and let them throw another 75-85 at the little league park.
  2. Correct a drop 8 would be legal in Nations where as a drop 11 would not. I can see where this would be confussing. The drop is determined by the length of the bat minus the weight so a 30 inch 20 oz bat would be a drop 10.  A 30 inch 22oz bat would be a drop 8 (2oz heavier)
  3. Well darn there goes my Lazeek is a Doo Doo head post.....LOL ;D
  4. Well I have met Mr Bosha a few times, he and Prudhomme always take time to come watch younger family play Little Dribblers (I might add ALL of the kids get a big kick out of it) if he plays HALF as classy as he carries himself during a normal day he has my vote. I would be willing to bet if we got a fantasy league of LOCAL freshman talent going, Bosha would be the #1 pick...just my I.O.U... I have four sons so I dont have 2cents to spare...LOL
  5. I think the NC stands for Near Colmesneil University......a very small school by far......just saying
  6. Heck by the way everyone is reacting to this cold snap there will be no next year....schools closing, appointment cancelations, traffic warnings......brown outs in Houston.....it is the apocoalypse
  7. Dang if this pic was a little further over you could see me in the background......
  8. I have to agree, it is good for not only the girls, but the JV and freshman to get the experience of butts on the bleachers. I think all in all you play harder when there is more people there
  9.     Silsbee definetly outbenched the Hawks, I think the refs did a "ok" job, was a little miffed on the NO call for intentional that almost killed Prudhomme. They had to call it tight this place was a powder keg and could have gotten out of hand quickly. We could have used a lot more Sutherland involvement at first I thought Silsbee was keeping him nailed down but as I watched there was plenty of oppurtunity to get it to him we just missed it. I felt Prudhomme tried to do to much and it did not work out BUT as a Hawk fan I will gladly take my chances with Prudhomme trying to do to much because 8 times out of 10 it will work out well for us.  I really enjoyed wathching Stallworth and Prudhomme on the same floor it is like watching a Div 1 game for $3.00. These 2 are truly the best around and leave it all on the floor I would also like to add that I thought the sportsmanship of the athletes on the floor was top notch, they helped each other up off the floor, and several times gave each other the  "you ok tap" when they fouled. Quick question for any refs, When Prudhomme was fouled hard (which should have been intentional) and could not shoot his free throws, Bosha came in and shot them. I thought they had to be shot by someone on the floor at the time of the foul.
  10. I will also bet 5 to 1 that you will never catch me betting....
  11. I dont like to gamble you can bet your a$$ on that........
  12. There is currently 6 NBA players shooting above 90% from the line. Lowest being .901 and the highest % being .936 by Curry from Golden State......
  13. yes that is why you have to read the beginning of that statement.....LOL
  14. Although I did graduate from Vidor, so Lazeek put me down for HJ by 8 Silsbee 58 HJ      60
  15. Lazeek put me down for HJ by 4 Silsbee 58 HJ      62
  16. I squeezed in (literally) for the first game, I agree if HJ plays the game like they did the first 3, hands down they beat Silsbee. Giving credit to Silsbee, if they get HJ out of their game like they did the 4th quarter in the last game Silsbee will win by double digits. The goal of both teams will be to do what they did best in the quarters they won the last game. HJ will have to handle and move the ball around well, and not turn it over like they did in the 4th of last game. On the other hand Silsbee will have to get back quick on defense and not linger and play to the crowd after every basket they make like they did in the first 3 quarters of last game if they do Gus and company will push it quickly and score at will. I believe that HJ has the upper hand in the low post, and 3 point line and Silsbee will have the upper hand in being able to penetrate and score on the turnovers. Should be every bit of the nail biter the last one was you better get there early is all I have to say

  20. The only reason I would have concern about Nations and USSSA is that NCAA and NFHS (National Federation High School Sports) are on board also
  21. I guess moving the pitching mound to 50 feet would be to far of a stretch for little league international to fathom.....no instead lets ban the bats.... Maybe we can all get plastic bats and wiffle balls
  22. Here is an update on this issue, it appears that Little League international has imposed a ban on ALL composite bats, and select league registration is heard climbing all over America.... [Hidden Content]
  23. get well soon Tigersvoice.... I feel you will bounce back stronger than ever.
  24. I agree with 77 if the other ref jumps in to help this would be a media frenzy and this would have turned the situation into a "poor kid" story. Also that was about the saddest apology I have ever heard. See you at the drive through at Micky Dees young man
