1. I am looking for a good pitching machine to buy if anyone has one to sell send me a private message. Higher end machine able to go up to HS speeds.
2. And YES I have 4 boys  2 of which are in the HJ program Jr. High and High School and 2 that are up and coming.
3. Don't get me wrong I like a good sports discussion as well as the next fan, but to post a question such as this just to get a "rise" out of us HJ fans may seem fun, but there are some young athletes that it hurts. Sure we have had some down seasons but hey who is to say what next year will hold. I personally went to Vidor, I can remember days when we could not win a game even if the other team did not show up, yet look what they have accomplished in the past few years. I think the other post got to personal and then some wise arse decides to start this one because the other was losing interest....give me a break
4. sarcasm, I think these post are ridiculous on both sides. Let the kids play, let the coaches coach. Hope and pray for the best for all of them and let the cards fall where they may.
5. Personally I would prefer to be able to get a seat without someone sitting in my lap in a half full stadium (Ford Park) then to NOT get a seat at an on campus game, or getting a seat with someone perched in my lap eating and belching a hot link all over me....just my opinion...
6. Coach Martel has been an excellent role model to 2 of my 4 boys. He has always been caring, concerned, and patient with his athletes. He will be missed and we wish him all the best.
7. From what I saw HJ did not protect the ball, did not move the ball like they usually do. (Zjori was wide open in the corner many times and did not get the ball). HJ did not rebound well even when we had the bigger team on the floor. Silsbee cut through the lane to the basket with very little problems. Silsbee played more physical in 3 of the 4 quarters. All in all Silsbee out played HJ and deserved the win. Also would like to point out it was a great atmosphere and HJ and Silsbee fans both got their money's worth and both sides of the team and fans were stellar in their sportsmanship. Looking forward to round 2
8.
First time in a loonnngggg time I've witnessed Silsbee flat out punk HJ. It's like they slapped HJ and dared them to swing back. Silsbee is twice as good as Hj this year so don't let that comeback fool ya. It'll be another 10yrs before Hj beat Silsbee again in Basketball on the Varsity level. Silsbee farm system is loaded....lol
Silsbee's farm system is loaded?????? The HJ freshman beat Silsbee Freshman by 40
9. HJ Freshman won 70 - 34. Good looking group of athletes (of course I may be biased) I am glad that the HJ coaches decided to keep them together as opposed to moving a few up. No practice can replace a group playing together in game situation.
10. Coach Klinger is awesome. My boys all attend HJ and he is rock solid on his stance of safety first for all of HJ athletes.
11. Tragic, sniff sniff....sadly my oldest 2 are in school ball now 7th grader/9th grader...but not to worry I have 2 more up and coming 9year old (holding out becuase of late birthday) and a 3 year old....so next year it is ON........LOL
12. Jasper/WELL was a GREAT series. The kids on both sides played their hearts out. The umpire crew was an All Star cast of their own and did an excellent job. Fun to watch two competetive teams battle, but at the same time show respect for each other. I may be a little biased but the 3 run go ahead homer from WELL # 2 in my opinion was the high point.. :) ;) :) ;) Low point had to be Jasper pitcher getting hit in chest. I take it he is doing fine, I got a laugh or 2 out of him when we where checking on him so I take it he is going strong. I hate seeing a kid get hit in the chest
13. uh oh coach, did not quite make that clean sweep yet. WELL hung tough tonight see you tomorrow night
14. I am a WELL member, we are fairly solid, but lately Jasper has had the stong hand. We have WELL Jr's playing in Jasper tonight for Championship (lost 1 to Jasper already)-----12 year olds lost to Jasper 3-2 last Saturday night (great game) may see them again tomorrow night if we beat Buna tonight (Buna 12's are solid also)---11 year olds were defeated by Jasper Tues night, and I think play them again tonight. not sure on the 10yo level.
15. Great pitching duel between Jasper and West End Saturday night. Jasper prevailed 3-2, sad to be on the losing end, but it was a great game to watch
16. Side note to the West End vs. Kountze game. Kountze players, coaches, and fans were first class. Nice to see 2 groups come together and play and everybody gets what it is all about.
17. One4All, no technically football starts in Mid February for Tragic and I, now don't get me wrong we trudge through baseball season, much like a steak eater will trudge through a sirloin when there is no T-bone around. But football season begins 2 weeks after it ends for us.
18. Not sure if you knew, but football season is around the corner.
19. A lot of the umpire issues come from guys that have said "enough" they get beat up fpr their calls all through little league (because EVERY loss is the umpire's fault) where you have to have umps, and then to get to a league that does not force it, I mean who is going to step up??? Plus no Philly Cheese steak or burger WHAT is the world coming to? Many years back a friend of mine was head of umps in San Antonio, he started a yellow card program like soccer. If a fan recieved 2 yellow cards in a season before they could come to another game as a fan they had to ump a game. Believe it or not he said it actually got him a few more parents that found they really enjoyed umping, not to mention got the stands a lot calmer.
20. My oldest played out there this year and we really enjoyed it. A little more laid back than little league. It was a nice change for us and I think helped prepare him for HS ball more.
21. on a serious note yes I think is should be best kids but to give the coach a little lead way. I think pitching and catching exp is a plus, and you also have to have some kids that know what they are doing in the outfield, most All Stars are comprised of solid infielders.
