1. Hope to see a good game, that's pretty good drive.  Be nice to see a battle.
2.
Can someone give us the final standings for this tournament, what their records where or scores for all the games. Thanks
Buna was 1-3 beat cold springs lost to HJ  19-6 lost to HF  7-5 lost to OF  8-1??
3.

Saturday 530 game (late start) H-F  7  Buna  5  Final Great battle
So it looks as if Buna has yet to get a "W" against a 21-3A team  :'(  Better enjoy your last season in 2A.  Hopefully playing this type of schedule will allow you guys to have a run for the title again in the 2A ranks, good luck.
You are only as good as the competition you seek to test yourself.  Buna will not be a basement dweller in 3a because of the continual flow of above average players that come to the program as is common in lots of schools in our area that annually field competitive squads.  3a will only set the standard higher and define the work needed more clearly.  Top runner, well I doubt that will be the likely outcome in short order, but competitive on a daily basis, for sure.  The other 3a programs know it to, or else they wouldn't pitch some of their most formidable pitchers against them, which they always do.  No real need to worry about next year or talk about last year, time to get it done this year.

5. it may be too early to ask the question but what is the pitching hierarchy at silsbee??? who is there #1, #2, and #3 pitchers?? Is Jenkins in the mix??
6. On a positive note, Silsbee had a very impressive shortstop.  He didnt really get tested but you could see in warm ups he had all the tools.  Equally so was Buna's SS, who had a opportunity to showcase his arm strength with one up the middle that he ran down and wha ha lasered over to 1st for the out.  Should be stellar season for both fellows. outfield has some high notes and low notes which could be expected with limited amount of games so far but Silsbee has some serious wheels in left field and buna's centerfielder covered some major real estate on  a shot that he ran down.
7. i "think" theoretically you could pitch one pitch and be considered the pitcher on record when the winning run was scored therefore be the winning pitcher. if you were the away team and scored winning run at first at bat and pitched the first pitch of the bottom of that inning, i think you would get the win. (you have injured yourself on first pitch) however, this may be a question for Mr ump....I know I am not sure.
8. Looking for more young coaching help also.  Have one x-player helping now and would love to have another.  If you are interested in getting involved or know someone that has got in their blood, please tell them about us.
9. Buna definitely has a Fish that can play.  Ethan Franklin left no doubts on the mound..... good job!!
10. Is Logan Lyday in the mix at BH, he sure is a great kid, we really enjoyed him when he helped our Franchise boys out back in the day!!
11. re:Flash 360 Looks like Buna has plenty of Arms available for work on the mound: E Franklin, B Franklin, Yoes, Walden, Jm Kelly, Richardson, K Clark, J Clark, Patrick Will be interesting who ends up carrying the load, as always someone always does. Jm Kelly is one of the most underrated players in the area.  God has blessed this young man with tremendous athleticism and power to boot.  As a Fish, I think he was one of strongest kids on the team.  It will be shocking if we don't see this kid play D1 somewhere either in football or baseball.  His baseball IQ is very high also.  Coach has the luxury of putting him where ever he thinks will do the most good.
12. Our area is very fortunate for all the higher level organizations that feed better prepared ball players to all the High School programs in the district.  I look forward to watching all the boys in the area advance as young men and contributing members to their perspective schools.  I enjoy seeing all these names of boys that my son and others have competed with around the area and beyond playing for various teams in the area:  I see their names and I think of Gladiators, Young guns, Franchise, Strikeforce, Machine, Yankees, Pirates, Phenoms, and Select Few.  This year is no different than those before and will be not much different than the ones to follow except now I have kid in the mix.  I agree with Franchiseball in that it will be up to the upperclassmen and what they bring to the table with leadership and talent. To me, Buna is a sleeper in this one because one of their best talents "Kolton Clark" is still injured and still in Basketball.  If he gets healthy and picks up where he left off as a sophmore, he might just be what they need to solidify the pitching staff along with up coming talent.  Warn... definitely has talent returning and more on the way Kountze...their program is off to a new start, new interest and definitely have talent Deweyville...Have their stud EC...?? not sure Buna... Walden, Yoes, Patrick, K Clark (x-factor) Hardin...Look solid last year and would expect the same Anahuac.. ??? **************************** should and could be a very interesting year!! I think if a team has 3 name brand pitchers (mid 80's) that can throw strikes at 2A level will go far.  If they are lucky enough to have that one in the upper 80's, we might bring State jewelery back to our district.  Of course I would love it if were Buna but would welcome any team in our district to do it.
13. [move]WE WILL BE THERE Unleeshed 98[/move]
14. How far can/will  a team from our district go in playoffs???  do we have a team that can make it to final four??  Who?? and why?? I think it will boil down to pitching....and whoever has lots of it, as well as having at least one "stud."  It's wonderful when you have two guns but it seems to always matter most what teams can win when they don't have their star on the mound. It sounds like lots of teams have depth this year, which sounds like potential for a whole lot of good baseball to be played.  It never helps for a team to win if it is because of sub-par pitching.
15. roster is setting at 10 with several girls willing to fill-in.  Preference is to have 12 ready to stay and play.  Pitching is fairly stable but who couldn't use another dominate pitcher if she came along.  Really speed and athleticism will probably be the most valuable assets.  No need to run another tryout, but are doing evaluations at open practices on Saturdays.  Private tryouts can be scheduled during the week. 9 of 10 girls are 98 birthdays text if you want more info:  409-782-9876
16. We are starting our outdoor practices soon and won't be doing another whole day tryouts but welcome girls to come to practice if they are still looking.  I would like to have 1 or 2 more to complete roster, and would consider playing some on a fill-in basis.  My goal is to have 12 solid roster players and a few fill-ins available.  Please text me @ 409-782-9876 if you would like to come to our practice and or schedule a one on one tryout.
17. Wow, I wish by daughter could still play 12U.....fully funded World Series.....yikes that is simply incredible.  I know you guys work hard at donations, sponsors, and fund raisers, but that is awesome.  By the way, I know you are getting close to full, but I have girl for you to look at...she has got game.
18. Thanks for all the interest, looks like we have a lot of interest, if you have already texted me, I have you down and will text updates on time and place as promised.  If not, please contact me and I will add you to the list.
19. For 14u the Fall has come to a close.  It was a blast to play in Beaumont this weekend.  Great weather, great tournament and boy was it fun to be around all the other unLeeshed age brackets:  8u, 12u, 14u and 16u.  It's cool to get to root the other teams on.  While we finished with a good ole fashioned butt whooping compliments of RGV - thunder, we did have a good battle with a local rival with OOC that ended in our favor this time, just prior to being knocked out.  I want to put a special thanks out to all the girls that hung with the team through thick and thin and  battled all the inevitable schedule conflicts through the fall with the other sports that tug so hard at all these young athletes.  In addition thanks to all the girls that have picked up with us from time to time leaving us with fond memories that will remain with the team.  One in particular was "T H E  B O M B'  that Lauren Gilbert blasted over the fence for us this weekend sealing the victory against the team at the time.  I don't think rocket fuel could have helped that ball get out any faster........just sayn. Don't forget to look up any of our age brackets for tryouts or pick up play if you think we have what you are looking for......good luck to all the girls at State!!!
20. Amazing the talent that God has blessed these boys with and the hard work the boys have put in to have their talents polished and ready for the next level.....job well done.  Sure makes CWS so much more fun to watch when local talent is on the field.  Not to mention the possibility for even more to come after that......
