1. Okay guys and or gals, I regret that I got this bickering started over a week ago,  so let's try to end this on a high note.  First, congratulations to the Vipers for another tournament victory, I know that its an awsome feeling for all invloved with the Team. You should be proud of your kids.  It is doubtful that USSSA and Nations will ever resolve their differences.  We know that TC Hawk will not identify themself for the rest of us.  In closing,  we Christians should remember that its Holy Week and tomorrow is Good Friday and Sunday is Easter.  Do you think that you can end the thread now or at least abstain through the weekend?  I sure hope so!
 2. TC Hawk, Knuckelhead is Andy Burns. I am not hiding but nobody ever asked!  Why do you hide behind TC Hawk? Tell us who you are?  In fact, why doesnt everyone on here identify themselves, or as my son would say, "manup".  We've established who 2sonsplaying is, he gave that away very quickly with the taunting about his two boys!  So, people let their kids on the Forum so that they can read posts for congratulating them?  I am sure that you did that at the ballpark and on the drive home. Or, was it for the world to know? I like the coaches of the Vipers, have known them since WELL and dont know that I have ever said anything bad about them or their team.  Of the few kids that I know, they have great talent on the team.  I suppose the initial argument was why do you guys have to self promote a tournament win when you know that the world will see anyway when its posted on USSSA.  Yep, I interjected your thread with the Sting victory and then 2sonsplaying had to degrade the talent pool over there and when i figured out who 2sonsplaying was, I decided to have a little fun with him.  He has always been a poor sport in the past with pranks, so I let it fly. Now, the issue between nations/morgan walker/usssa is an issue that I dont know much about other than the Vipers getting the boot from Nations and now Gladiators getting the boot from USSSA.  My view, these are two businesses competing for the same clients.  Absent a code of ethics in the industry, there are no rules of the game with promoting tournaments.  Let the two organizations battle it out but keep the teams out of it. I know that the 11U Gladiators had registered for 3 USSSA events this season, but no longer. We play enough games here locally in Nations so it is doubtful that our team would sign up for a local USSSA event. But, I have never heard that it was out of the quesiton if we need to fill a weekend. Likewise, I wouldn't expect the Vipers to have signed up for any local Nations tournaments if they host tournaments through USSSA here. So, its a business decision. TC HAWK, identify yourself, Rounder17, identify yourself, theoneandonly, identify yourself, One4ALL, identify yourself, 2sonsplaying, Wayne Gressham,.  Step UP
 3. not many to choose from on a Wednesday afternoon but it appears that the 11U team found an alternative tourney with Nations, so it will all be okay. I suppose they know not to offer its support to USSSA anymore!  Play Ball!
 4. kf89, I heard that the 11 U Gladiator team got notice today that they were removed from the USSSA tournament at Big League Dreams for this weekend.  So, it is real and its too bad that the children are the ones who suffer from USSSA's decision! What did these kids do to deserve this? So, it does appear that the Gladiators tried to support USSSA by registering and attempting to play in one of their tournaments. Who has taken the high road here, not USSSA!
 5.
i doubt that usssa has banned a team just becuz of a person or becuz of playing nations baseball.im sure if the gladiators sign up for a u-trip tourney they will take their team & money with a smile.all this supposedly & i heard bulls**t is like a group of jr. high girls flapping their lips. gladiator program if thats what u want to call it,isnt going to make or break an organization the size of usssa.u guys just need to shut up & just play baseball in whatever organization u want.
>:(

Great Job Ruben!!!
So 1st you hijack someone else's thread for your own teams announcement. "You were obviously proud enough  of your tournament victory to start in on a thread about it. Are yall that hard up for the world to know that your team won a tournament" Then you complain about somebody doing the exact same thing you did. One thing is for sure, you are appropriately named..knucklehead!!!
Yes, I am proud of my thread name, thank you! I promoted the Texas Sting on your thread because you look foolish when you have to self promote a tournament victory on the forum.    I mean, was this like a World Series or State Championship or something?  Step it up a notch and play a  tourney in Beaumont and see how you do in the 12U select " kiddie pool"  Oh, I forgot , you guys got kicked out of Nations! Okay, then play a 12 AA with 20 teams and lets see how it goes!  You win that one and I will post your victory on the forum for ya! ;)
 7.

Nations will take care of their status but let them get one under their belt and taste the victory before you throw them under the bus. You were obviously proud enough  of your tournament victory to start in on a thread about it. Are yall that hard up for the world to know that your team won a tournament ;)  What part of "I have an 8yr old & 10yr old playing" did you NOT get??? This is a thread simply congradulating a team on their win. That team was the 11u Vipers. (Last time I checked, there was no Ruben even involved with that team) And 2sonsplaying did NOT start this thread, I did. HINT: Title says theoneandonly, not 2sonsplaying
Gresham's comment about his two kids is not worthy of a reply from me.  And, what part of "start in on a thread" do you not undertand? It did not imply that 2sonsplaying started the thread. By the way, you need to learn how to spell congratulations!!! ;)
 8. Nations will take care of their status but let them get one under their belt and taste the victory before you throw them under the bus. You were obviously proud enough  of your tournament victory to start in on a thread about it. Are yall that hard up for the world to know that your team won a tournament ;)
 9. LOL, but it sure sounded like an intentional slam. Tell you what, since you guys claim to have just acquired two more playmakers and are loaded with talent,  why dont you enter a 12 u kiddie pool tournament and take a stab at it. SAC
 10. Also, Congrats to the Texas Sting, a Beaumont area team, for winning the Nations St. Patrick Day Showdown hosted at Ford Park this past weekend.  Tourney CHAMPIONS for 12U. Great Job Ruben!!!
 11.
love it tony lmao!!  8) couldnt have said it better. knucklehead just wont let sleeping dogs ly thanks for having our back we appreciate you bro....
:D
 12.
Rules are the rules and we all have to live by them, well some of us do anyways...The others, well  :o.... Oversight, maybe, but he has been on the team for 5 months..I wonder how your team would react if the tables were turned..Let me guess "your coach wouldn't say anything"...And to say "the coach should tell his boys that is not the way you earn it" is just stupid!! Guess they should also tell their players do whatever it takes to "WIN" even if you have to cheat, right... Your coach has an obligations to his kids to play by the rules...ALL OF THEM.... Also just because he wasn't the "pitcher" doesn't mean they should have over looked it..
Great arguments guys, I dont think there is a right or wrong answer, just a different of opinions. Couple of years back we were in a LL district championship game and the opposing coach was caught by the tournament director using an illegal pitcher.  He stopped the game, came over to us and told us that we have won under forfeit, if we wanted it.  We told him to remove the pitcher and continue the game that there would be no protest by us. We won and the kids earned it on the field. That was the right decision, in our opinion. With respect to this past weekend, two great organizations and two great coaching staffs, we apprecaite them both for helping our children. Dog4life, I have some extra 11 u trophies from last season that I am tryinig to get rid of, do you want them for your kitchen decor?  I can assure you they were earned on the field and not from the rulebook.
 13.
Ah, so now its a question of WHEN he should have said something ? Funny stuff.  I have no idea why and really dont care, bottom line this could have all been avoided if what? Say it.........if what? Thank you! For you to come on here and bash the parents and question our coaches leadership and loyality simply proves your name is very accurate. Not going to speak for Allen but theres no doubt in my mind he cares about EVERY kid on that field his  team or not but his loyalty is exactly where it should be, with Prospect Baseball and the kids that bust thier tails for him. Tony Babino
I knew that I could get a spirited response from you. In Nations, I dont think you can protest the roster once the game has begun, at least that is what I recall.  Bottom line, its a technical mistake, we have all made it and they took advantage of it.  Dont really care why, but its no way to win a tournament for your team.  And, what I mean is that you have a very talented team and I would have hoped for a different response from this situation.  I would have expected a lesser quality team to have done this for a chance for a tournament victory, not you guys! Take it as a compliment because your guys will have plenty of victories and tournament wins this season without having to protest.  That was my point, just because you found a glitch, doesnt mean that it had to be acted upon.  Too many parents are focused on the win and the trophy, regardless of how they are earned.  I think that it teaches a poor lesson to the kids to advance in that manner. Make them earn it from winning the game!  I dont have a dog in this fight, just a bystander hoping that parents let the kids play ball and let the coaches make decisions without being pursuaded into something they dont want to do.  Its the coach who has to live with that decision, not the parents!
 14.
I can’t believe I’m getting sucked into this topic but the STUPIDITY of some of these posters is amazing. Allen Harrington is a grown man and the leader of this team (12u Prospects Red) , I can assure you he wasn’t “forced” into doing a thing. If I’m not mistaken (and I’m not) the opinions of the parents were mixed. Coach discussed and explained the situation with HIS team and the decision was made to play the championship. Which we won FAIR and SQUARE! As far as the ineligible player, really not concerned if it was an oversight or not. Rules are the rules and we all have to live (and play ball) by them. Tony Babino
Agreed that rules are rules and we all should play by them or we are subject to the consequences. I dont think anyone would argue that your team won the tournament Fair and Square! But, just because a tournament rule was broken does not mean that it had to lead to a protest and game forfeiture, following the outcome of the game.  Those coaches who were former standout players and now managers are from the same fraternal group and there is a bond and mutual respect for one another, more than many can imagine. These are the guys from the trenches who know what it takes to play the game and the emotions that go along with it for these young guys.  I am not sure what was accomplished in this situation other than your coaches lack of leadership and lack of respect to for opposing coach and his kids.  I have one question for the parents. Why did the coach wait until the game was over to protest a roster error and not protest earlier during the game when it was discovered?  I am just curious!!!
 15. We Texans don't pay a state income tax and some of those funds come from those taxes as well as the casino revenue taxes.  They have Wards set up within the Parishes(counties) that allocate and govern the $$ and amenities. Look at Frasch Park and the nice place they have there as well as the water park.  That water park is a great deal for $4 a day for non City residents. In most all cases, Louisiana spends money on facilities for both the local residents as well as the facilities that generate $$ for the local economy.  Back when Frasch got hit by Rita, they decided to make it a better place and build a softball complex that would allow the high school state tournament to be held all in one place.  They made the proposal, got it and off to the races they went.  Now they have both softball and select baseball over there using the parks and it is a boom to the area.  Nice work if you ask me. Just for the record, we did get re-classed today, lol.  It took some losses but we were in the wrong division from the get go. On another note, can anyone explain why all these coaches are playing kids on the field that are not on the roster?  Either I am naive or this is a bigger problem than people think.  I heard a local team had to forfeit a semifinal game yesterday and another one had maybe 4?? kids play that weren't listed on the roster. What is going on??
Probably an honest mistake. I almost forgot to add the last player I picked up. Had it not been for his dad, I would have. Does anyone know how I can get usssa directors to stop calling me about tournents? I get the e-mails, but don't want the calls?
I'm sure is was ;) but i bet, if it was Tillery's or Brian's Team you be on here ripping those guys and USSSA...He reads this form, just state your REAL name or your teams name or PM it to me and he would be glad to take you off the list...
Haha. You crack me up. Why are you so defensive? I wasn't even talking about Tillery. People from out of town keep calling me about tournaments. My question is, why do they call and send e-mails, and how can I change my usssa team info so they will not call? As for the kid not being on the roster, he has been on their team only,  for the last 5 months. He wasn't some kid they picked up last minute, or decided, hey let's get that kid out of the stands to play.
..When you sign up for a usssa tournament they ask for that information to send updates etc..so PM me your name or teams name and it will be taking care of or you can contact your local Director..
You mean to tell me that a coach actually protested a semi-final game here due to a roster oversight, that is embarrasing!  If they won the final game and got a trophey, I hope they explained to the kids on the team that is not how to earn one!

Most directors have a team even in Nations.. ;)
Every game I have played in Nations has been 1:40. I haven't coached younger than 11u though. Where have you played that the director was a coach? BTW, the local Nations guy runs an organization, and doesn't coach a team in any of his tournaments. Hey Rounder, are you a player or a coach? Or, are you like a player manager?
 17.
Different age groups are different time limits. Nothing wrong with director having a team. Most we've played in the director had @ least 1 team. I'm sure that dealing w/weather they made adjustments the best they could & dealing with odd number of teams some have to play more than once. Hey ASM, you have been quiet on the baseball forum since you bashed your sons team couple years back on here, welcome back!
If it is the guy I am thinking of, he is bit of a CLOSE talker.  :)
I have to agree with getripped, its not that difficult to orgainize the paperwork, if you have a good district administrator who understands the process. If they are new to the process, you can get in touch with Williamsport for clarification.  I dont know what a lawyer can do, I dont recall that there was a legal specialization in Little League Baseball.  Do it right the first time and its done. Its all in the approach with the umps and tourney directors, if you go in with an attitude, you have screwed youself. Just have to play the game because most of these guys get off to the power trip, just let them have it. When its over, they are just another small person in a big world. Been there before, no problems if you use common sense approach.
 20.
At tyler this year, i had a parent keeping a book for me.  When an opposing batter came up, the parent informed me that the kid had hit up the middle during his previous at bat.  The ump warned me that i could not talk to fans.  Are you kidding?  Some of the rules have gotten completely out of hand.
All Stars is a serious game, its not League play.  Umpires are graded at State  for their  chance to get to Omaha, so they are on stage!  In sectionals, mid county umps meant serious business, but it helps everyone stay focused and the kids played at the top of their game.
 21.

Let's give U-Trip a chance with a new operation. With the proper management it to can be better organized. Played in some unorganized Nations tourneys in the past too. By Ford Park having 2 different tournament formats may bring some teams from Louisiana back to play @ FP. Yes U-Trip is in Houston as is Nations & U-Trip is in Louisiana but if can bring same quality here some of these other teams can travel for a change.
Lake Charles area is converting to Nations this year.
and there is a reason for this.
 22.
why not both?competition is always a good thing thats what makes america great.good experience for coaches & players to play different organizations.as long as they dont get carried away like little league rules where u have to bring a lawyer along, its all good.
anyone who has to bring a lawyer along for youth baseball should just sit in the stands.
 23.
the baseball academy or jason tyner doesnt run ford park.if usssa pays the fee for use of the fields then aint no one stopping them from hosting tourneys, money talks bullsh--t walks!pros & cons of each organization are similar dont see much difference.
Depends on who runs it, but still dont see the need for both organizations here.
 24.
I hear that a new guy is bringing back USSSA tourneys to Ford Park.    What's up with that?
Who is bringing USSSA to Ford Park?  USSSA is a youth sports organization, Nations is a baseball organization.  I dont see the need for two organizations locally competing for weekend tournaments, in addition to the local Little Leagues. Bring the talent down from Nebraska, they will learn about the SE Texas boys.  What are your thoughts Westend1?
