3.

Newton better worry about winning district before they think about state.
I highly doubt they will be tested in district. Maybe EC can challenge the team they have this year but they wont beat em.
I agree with you.  Newton should be relatively deep, but I don't believe there will be that team that should really test them.    In the end pre-season rankings are pre-season rankings.  You could really flip the top 5 or 6 in each poll and they would look good.  It may take a little time to see who may be a favorite.

Worth ·        Walgreens ·        7-11  ·        Brookshire Brothers/Grocery ·        CVS ·        Duckwall ·        HEB ·        Kroger ·        Lowes ·        Safeway ·        Target ·        United Supermarket ·        Walmart
7. The FNF OldCoach magazine was completed this week.  It has been sent to the printers and should be in stores(Walmart, Target, HEB, etc.) within around 7-10 days.  You can also order it online at: [Hidden Content]
8. When looking at 10-2A, I could actually see Kville finishing 2nd.  I personally have it: 1. Newton 2. East Chambers 3. Kirbyville 4. Woodville 5. Anahuac 6. Hardin 7. Kountze 8. Warren
9. Well, that was the one position that differed the most from the other 2A poll that was released(Newton at #17).  What does Newton lose and what do they have coming back/up?
10. Division I 1. Cameron Yoe 2. Newton 3. Tatum 4. Daingerfield 5. Wall 6. Hempstead 7. Muleshoe 8. Crockett 9. Littlefield 10. Idalou Division II 1. Refugio 2. Lexington 3. Cisco 4. Arp 5. Corsicana Mildred 6. East Bernard 7. Garrison 8. Rogers 9. Hughes Springs 10. Clarksville
11. Well, there is a pretty good shot that Navasota may go DII.  From what I have heard, Taylor is above Navasota in enrollment and I would not be surprised at all to see them at least 3rd.
12. Don't forget about the likes of Navasota, La Vega, and Carthage.
13. Toughest 2A in the state? How? District 1, 8, 9 and 13 are all tougher districts.
D13, IMO, will be the toughest.  I know this is a SE Texas board, but if you know anything about the teams in this district, it will be a tough road.  I think Kirbyville should be a playoff team in 2012.  I think your two favorites are still going to be Newton & EC but im pretty confident they could finish at least 3rd.  It depends on what the likes of Woodville & Anahuac lose/return?  What will Newton & EC look like in 2012?
14. Did anyone notice if they mentioned 1A or 2A? I think this top ten looks pretty solid.  At the top 2 spots you have two 4A to 3A teams that should have great years.  Carthage is always one of the top programs in the state.  Coldspring has had some very successful lately, and Navasota returns quite a bit from the 2011 squad that lost to Chapel Hill in a thriller.  It should be a great year for 3A football.
15. The FNF magazine could be released a little later this year.
16. I think the statewide top 10 polls may be released somewhere around the 30th of January?
17. I figured it will now alternate every 2 years from Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston.
18. Cameron Yoe:  Lost to Tatum 21-14 I believe we will return 9 on each side of the ball as we were very young in 2011.  We are losing 1 OL, WR, LB, and corner, if I'm not mistaken.  Besides that, everyone is coming back.  In the end, I think we should be better at every single position next year, with some very good talent on the current varsity roster, combined with some good players coming up from JV.
19.
Nope we're really small...There has been speculation as to whether CS could possibly drop down to 2A this next realignment... Haven't see the official numbers for realignment or know exactly what CS will or has already reported but I bet it'll be fairly close...
I don't belive 540, which is I think is the # I believe they turned in, will be close to getting them in to 2A.  I Expect the top 2A # to be in the 430-445 range.
20. I think Tatum played their toughest game in the region a few weeks ago  ;D.  In the end it should be very competitive game, probably going back and forth.  Tatum is not quite at that level of 2010, but they still have athletes all over the field that are going to make plays.  Tatum by 1 or 2 TD's.
21.
I think this game will be broadcast on KMIL.com...any other stations??
