"Darling acknowledged that Dunn did indeed punch his client in the face one time after "she got up in his face arguing."

he hit her, she just doesn't want to press charges, and neither does her dad.  why would they?  he's most likely playing in the NBA next season... so, what's the big deal if he breaks a jaw every now and then!

It all goes back to the fact that athletes are held to a lower standard than the rest of the word. The get to screw up and get second chances. Any guy who would hit a woman in the face (who isn't imminently threatening his life, of course) is a worthless thug. Look at Braylon Edwards. He got pulled over for DWI, was over twice the legal limit and he doesn't lose his 7-figure job, yet any other blue-collar American would get fired upon their employer given notice. If anyone ever broke my daughter's jaw you can bet I would be pressing charges, or breaking his jaw.
  2. There's something I don't understand and it doesn't have anything to do with WOS, but with the EMS in general. From what I gather there were two ambulances, one on site and one somewhere else. The one on site left before the incident happened on call out, which made the other one come from wherever it was (presumably at the station) to assist the injured player. I don't understand why the ambulance at the game would ever leave. That ambulance should be there until the last whistle blows, especially with the recent experience WOS has had. Just my opinion. If I am wrong about the situation please correct me.
  3. As much as I would love to see HF come out with a win in this one, I just don't see it happening. This will most likely be a game where WO-S can get back on their feet after all of the trauma they have been through. WO-S will win, but I hope it's at least close.
  4. I don't know Reese and will probably never meet him, but I can understand how it would be hard to lose your parents at such a young age. I have a feeling that kid will grow up to be very independent and mature for his age. He will grow up fast. He will be stronger because of this. My sophomore year in high school we had a freshman's dad waiting to pick his son up from practice and his son went outside to find his father had died in the truck with the truck still running. It was extremely hard to see this first hand and I couldn't imagine how it would feel if that was my dad. That young man was angry for a while but then found a passion for god that was unlike anything I've ever seen. He would reach out to other students to try and spark their faith for the rest of high school. I wish the best for this young man and hope he will be okay.
  5. I was just happy to see the way the offense could adjust on plays that weren't going as planned. I remember one play were Huff had two defenders dragging him down and he managed to pitch the ball to Bell who ran for a 50+ yard touchdown. I honestly think that this year's Splendora team would have rolled last year's HF team by 21+ points. The Horns have came a long way and as an HF grad I am proud to see the amount of improvement.

Although HF graduated several starters last year, they have more than enough talent in the wings to compete at a high level.  Quality players at all positions.  Looking forward to see how the team gels as the season progresses.  I agree with Rizon.  If you don't show up every night, you may not have much to show for your effort at the end of the season.  Kinda like the 2009 version of Silsbee=Domination.  ;)  Good luck to all the teams!

All too wise, Otter. HF will dominate.
