Don't count Dayton out, I agree with BG whether it be SC,BH,Crosby, etc. I talked to a couple of people in the know and the Broncos could surprise a lot of teams this year, but we will see what happens. That's why you play one game at a time and never look past what's in front of your face, because we all know anyone can win or loose on any given day. Go Broncos!!!!
With all due respect, I don't think the Broncos are going to surprise anyone. They've been good for a long time. They will be in the mix every year.

I know BF philosophy is to not play kids both ways, but the NDNS could use some of the upper athletes playing both ways. Just my .02
OH  HELL NAW... NOT ANOTHER 2Cents!!!! hahahahaha  1 IS ENOUGH!!!
Well, a Barbers Hill .02 is a heck of a lot more expensive then a Vidor .02! ;D

 6.
There is plenty of people and tax revenue moving into the district.  In my neighborhood there were about 20 houses in our edition when i moved there a year and a couple of months ago.  Now there are at least 80-90 houses that have been built, and about 30 more going up now.  That's one side of one edition. Not to mention Falcon , Firethorne and some of the others that are blowing up right now.  As far as SC averaging 10,000 per home game, I seriously doubt that.
There's no doubt people are moving there. The problem is they are maxed out on tax rate. I read several articles where that affects the bonds, etc. I don't understand the whole process, but there has been reports of issues on so many bonds, maybe because others haven't been paid off before they are floating others. Remember sales taxes is what helps the most. Residential taxes help, but not near as much. The issue is they could've built the stadium for the southside schools on the southside, but wouldn't do that because it would upset the original Katy political folks. ;)
 7.
Rendering shows a nice stadium, but not as nice as TURNER. Katy should take a page from Humble and do a major renovation of Rhodes a.k.a. "the dump."  Better yet, build a new stadium, one that is truly befitting of a perennial State Championship program.  No reason why Katy shouldn't have a stadium every bit as nice as Allen.  The money is there ...Katy should spend it.  The Tigers have earned the respect of a top notch facility.
Yhe problem is the money isn't there. That's why they laid off teachers a couple of years ago. Too many people moving there and not enough schools. That's why they are doing bond referendums every couple of years. Katy ISD will eventually have about 10-11 high schools in the future once the northside starts growth. Also another HS is scheduled for the Cross Creek Ranch area.
 8.
True, but building out just one as a stadium for the south end high schools would not cost as much.  A couple of them already have a pretty good set of stands on one side.  They would have to build visitor's stands, a press box and restrooms and maybe one or two concession stands and that's it.
The stands at Cinco and Seven Lakes are not near big enough even for a visitors side. With that said, I agree that Cinco would've been a prime location. I remember when they added turf to the practice fields. The field is nice, But they would've needed to add stands. I think it would've been ok to build an 8,000 seat stadium since all, but Katy have a small fanbase. Cinco may have a little more, but 8k would be fine. They could've built that for around 10-12 million ala PNG stadium. The problem with Katy ISd is they are trying to keep up with the Jones. Every HS has a notatorium and are built like palaces. Katy better be careful or they will go broke. Maxed out on school tax rate already. When I lived there the taxes were insane.
I think it looks nicer then Turner Stadium. They have 7 high schools, so a second stadium needed to be built. I think most agree. The location is the issue. The two stadiums are a few blocks from each other. The reason for that is so Katy HS can play in a new stadium. ;)
 11.
So I guess they are not replacing Rhodes.  I would have put the other stadium somewhere south of I-10  right off of 99.
Katy HS faithful wouldn't let that happen. There is no way Katy would play in the old stadium while the south HS play in a new stadium. Good ol Katy politics. ;) They have land by Cross Creek Ranch and Seven Lakes where they should've built. Thompkins, Seven Lakes, Cinco Ranch, and Taylor could've used the South Stadium. Makes too much sense.
 12. BH: Oak Ridge/Conroe WB/Clear Creek school Play middle of the road 5a teams or WOS LaMarque/Coldspring Play speed since we need that come district play
 13.
Ok, I looked.  They did modify it.  I remember having a discussion to another JAG fan that we need to get back to scrimmaging LaMarque vs. Barbers Hill.  I guess that someone took my advise! 8)
BH knocked the Jags all around the field last year. Speed didn't help too much in a scrimmage. Hopefully Central turns it around this year.
 14. No wonder BG said PNG was making playoffs this year. He had an inside source that Ozen and Central was going to have some clown of a reporter following them around trying to find some silly rule violation. ;D Seriously though, this guy taking pictures kind of creeps me out. I hope he don't travel around taking pics of teenage boys and girls on dates. If your going to stalk people, then why didn't he go talk with coaches, parents or the players? I'll tell you why, he was scared to get out of his car in Houston and confront his so called violators. Silly
 15. OK, it's driving me crazy on the third person talk. DChapman2008 talking about himself in third person. It appears to be the same person. Please let your play do the talking. I don't know if your trying to fool people that your a poster talking about you or what the deal is. Time will tell if everyone starts talking how good you are. Good luck

 18. I'll chime in on this one. Several years back, Little League was pushing for more kids to make all stars and now say up to 14 kids can make the team. When my middle boy was in LL, all of the coaches had the all star meeting and we voted on the number of kids to take on the all-star team. My vote was for 11 players. It's way easier for a coach to manage. I wasn't the all star coach by the way. My opinion is 14 players are way too many to keep up with IMO. If you have 14, it's a nightmare to get all of the kids in the game. Use to it was I think 2 innings and 1 at bat. Now, I think it's just 1 at bat if I remember right in all stars if you have 14. You would have to switch 10 kids in the game with 14 instead of 4 with 11. It's just my opinion on the matter. I would rather carry less kids if I was an all star coach for a 12 year old team. At the lower levels carry 14 if you want to. The problem usually lies with #12-14th pick anyways on who they are going to be. I've seen heated arguments and skewed numbers to get #12 pick. IMO, that's where the issues are usually. It's up to the individual league/coaches to pick the number of all stars. I would say they probably need to change the number of kids they pick to where this problem doesn't happen.

Texas Football Magazine mentions Cody Young as probable QB.
A tackle or a coach isn't going to help New Carney. They're dead last in the district in talent and don't have the enrollment to make up for it. You could put Gary Joseph over there and still not get to .500. Until NC benefits from the growth in the area they'll be competing with Porter for last unless they realign to district 18.
If this is true, Barbers Hill shouldn't compete either.  Talent is important, but its not everything at the high school level.  Discipline, preparation, and execution can win you a lot of games.  Look at Katy.  They run their machine and win ...but not many D1's compared to other schools like North Shore, Manvel
BH has a heck of a lot more talent than New Caney. They have a four year starter at qb who's a UT commit in baseball, the best rb in the district behind Walter and Jeffery, and last year they had the best lb in the district with Garrett Dolan in my opinion. Katy doesn't have a bunch of D1 talent but what they do have are huge offensive linemen and big backs that rush for 2000 yards most years like Dean, Young and Taylor. People on this forum always talk about hard work like the other kids aren't working just as hard. The kids at Crosby were throwing up on themselves while they were running this week but you're not going to hear me talking about how hard they're working because I know the kids at Dayton, BH, and SC are working just as hard. Coaching and talent are the most important things at the high school level. BH much like Deer Park is going to dump all the funds they need to support their program and most times you get decent results with that method, that's why BH is better than most others on the sub-high school level. It may get you to the playoffs but most years you won't have the horses to be a threat.
Agree^^^^^ People don't realize also how many parents fork out big bucks for personal trainers for kids starting in middle school. If you have a decent resume, you could make big bucks in communities like BH with parents wanting their kids to be the next D1 prospect whether it's baseball, football, or basketball. It's all about the $$$$$$$$. ;)
 20. WOS in late 80's and WB in early 90's were stout, but don't know the stats.
 21. According to Principal at SC, the enrollment is a lot higher than 1400 this year. Look for yourself. 2129 students in 2013. Look at page 9 on SC Improvement plan. ;D [Hidden Content]

They've passed on some really good kids that play football.  Perhaps because they didn't feel they'd get the commitment because of football's offseason program.  This is somewhat understandable, but that team REALLY needs help.  They should be more flexible and try to work with the kids coming out of football. There's a reason for your trash talk, any school that's built by a landfill is going to have some trash talkers.
[Hidden Content] No way that attendance zone for SC has a dozen D-1 prospects. Period. In district transfers is the new way of stacking a school. As long as the school isn't 95% full. Larger school districts have been doing this for years.

I then told you that the school size is what you and the SC fans blame your loss to GT on. It's not hard, please keep up. Remember, SC can say they never beat BH at academics ;D
