You hit the nail on the head Cougar14, you're dealing with disadvantage kids, some from single parent homes, some are being raised by grandparents. And sports are the only way to deal with hardships in a positive way. I'm not a coach, and i think that it's a tough job trying to motivate kids, and teach them how to live a good, productive, honest life. Not just at Ozen, but all schools, coaches are trying to do whats best for the student athletes. I truly believe the coach made a honest mistake, and was unaware of the U.I.L. rule. go panthers !!

From what i witness from the game friday night, both teams played aggressive and physical.the refs called the game both ways, the pirates are a good team and have some good shooters, but that night ozen was clearly the best team. thats with or without the refs calls. go panthers !!

In 2007 ozen made it to the state championship game, but lost to dallas south oak cliff. oak cliff won state in 2005,2006, and 2007. ozen gave them a good game and lost by less than 10 points. but south oak cliff had too many experienced,veteran starters on that team

Congrats to both teams, great game. Weisbrod done his thing (must have had 30 points) but why get a 14 point lead in the third quarter and stall the ball and kill your momentum keep doing what you did to get that big lead. any way a win is a win. go panthers !!

What type of defense, Ozen played when they defeated Nederland in the playoffs at lamar last year. man to man, zone, box and one, or street ball ? go panthers !!

I'm saying Hunter, also. Franks was a great talent, but he had a better supporting cast with Richards, Moten, Breon Johnson, Willie Jefferson. Take nothing away from this group of athletes, they are good and gonna get better. go panthers. ;)

Congrats to central, that was a great game. Both teams played hard, but ozen will be fine. Once ozen find that good chemistry of players, playing together they will be a better team. tough, emotional district games like that prepare you for the playoffs. go panthers. 8)

This is just my opinion, and you can't compare apples to oranges. Let's look at Baylor's lady basketball team that went 40-0. Defending national champions and returned all 5 starters from last year, they were ranked number 1 and lost to Stanford, a few weeks ago. But come the elite 8 or final 4 baylor's team will be their. Ozen haven't put all the pieces together yet. Like ozenfinest said i rather lose now, than in the playoffs. like that comment, 'deep post. go panthers. 8)
