Hey Skippy,
The same can be said of the Tigers with regard to the little things. Both teams came to play and as for the penalties on both; sometimes that is a matter of the referee squad and how close they choose to make certain calls.
In the end, this is what I take away from the Silsbee effort. They are better than they might realize ... I hope the kids see that and take away from the game the confidence that, except for a few preventable mistakes, they could have beaten the 4th ranked team in the state.
As a Tiger fan, let's hope that what they nearly accomplished gives them the motivation to work as hard as they did this past week in practice and work on executing error free ball one quarter at a time. If they do that and rise to the level of talent they have, then these kids can accomplish something that will have meaning for the rest of their lives.
Hard work, discipline, teamwork, focus and execution, and we might be watching SHS TigerBall deep into the playoff season. Chin up kids, and feed off of that hunger in your belly.
Win, loose or draw, we are all proud of you because when you give 150% there is nothing of which to be ashamed. Do that for the next several weeks & months, and for the rest of your lives and you will all be winners!!!
