If the bond passes and if the stated scope of work is completed under budget, then there would be two options (a) spend only what's needed and keep the tax rate as low as possible or (b) issue bonds for the residual amount to finance important unmet needs (e.g. aging bus fleet) that are vital to education.

:o :o :o Those Hawks are the best friggin team in SETX from 3A-5A ... that's what I'm talking about. Battle Tested, Battle Hard Prediction: Hawks vs. Jasper into Elite 8 :P :P :P Once again board members and people interested this is a Silsbee fan stirring the pot and not a HJ fan!!!! Grow up kid!!!!!

Hardin Jefferson is absolutely the very best team in the state. They own SE Texas and are going to walk all over Cleveland. Burrell and Burnard are the best one-two in the area and that includes all the way up to 5A PAS Memorial. This is their year again and they will own Cleveland. Cleveland fans will not know what hit them and will be in for a real treat. Never have they seen better basketball. Silsbee better watch out too!!!!! :o

Wharton team was both fast & quick last night. They had the advantage of scouting the Cleveland game and they sure didn't share any tape of themselves with the Tigers. Big play by Terrence Jones in the first half (12 tough points inside) carried the Tigers; them Harper and Robinson turned it up in the second half ending with about 9 and 13 respectively. I think Brewer had only 2 at the end, but like in the Cleveland game he came up with some big blocks and caused some bad shots by the Wharton Tigers at time. He reminds me of how a Robert Parrish could affect shot taking inside. Silsbee literally spilled blood in the win, as several players were scratched and marred with the tough inside play, one even suffering a broken nose. No wonder Coach Williams took a "T" defending his players. In the end, the players fought out a tough win for the coach that is willing to stand up for his kids. Hoping they realize that nothing can be taken for granted, and that in the end its them against the world.

My understanding is that Silsbee faces Coldspring and the coaches were meeting today in Liberty to work out details. Possibilities include Angelina JC in Lufkin Tuesday night at 7:30. Has Kountze already locked up that location and time?
