  2. Sure looks like that now, I know once we found out we would be in an eight team district and some of those games scheduled were in our district now, our coach had to scramble just to find games. Kipp won 2-3 games last year so didn't figure they would be that bad, and when you play up two divisions you figure to get pretty good competition, but Livingston probably won't win a game all year. That looked like a good test for us last February. Next week will be a different story, Shepherd looks to be a good test for us. Anxious to play them.
  3. No they're not very good, we're playing sloppy and we've had two touchdowns called back.
  4. Wow this half has taken forever, at least 10 stoppages due to clock issues. Neither team can get into any kind of rhythm because of it, two touchdowns called back for Orangefield. It hasn't been pretty.

  6. What's so funny, we're not claiming a win as in we made this up. Our kids played a team from Westbrook and we we're curious as to who we played. Nothing more than that.
  7. Wow Livingston, HJ, and Coldsprings getting votes and Orangefield gets none. Pretty typical!!!

  9. Anyone know how this one turned out?
  10. Yes sir we're running both, we actually have a kid at QB that can throw it a little. We run the Wing T well, but against better teams especially in the playoffs we tend to bog down. This should at least give us more options on offense for moving the ball. So far I like what I've seen the little we've ran it.
  11. Stats look a little off, Lumberton did have more total yards but it wasn't that drastic. Our offense wasn't on the field much to be honest, we had a pick six and a fumble returned for a touchdown that was called back several minutes after we scored. We we're sending out our guys to kick the extra point and the player was then ruled down. But like I said in another thread oh well lol. Lumberton moved the ball well and ate up the clock, but Orangefield also forced several punts on top of the turnovers. Bend but don't break defense has always been our style of play. Lumberton's defense is a head of it's offense at this point but we did move the ball on them. QB showed signs of being a player, very good with the read option but he struggled throwing the ball and making the right reads. He'll be a good one though. Good Luck to the Raiders this season!!!
  12. It was hard to keep up, they had the field split up with JV going one way and the 9th grade going the other. I did see that both OF and Lumberton JV's each scored once, not sure if that was all the scoring or not.
  13. Both teams are very similar in that they run the spread, but LCM has a better QB. Our guys played a lot better last night against the spread, LCM coming out last week running no huddle gave us fits, something I didn't see coming and I don't believe our kids and coaches did either and we never adjusted to it. Last night our secondary played really well, had a pick six and just seemed to be better prepared to face that type of offense. LCM will go as their QB goes, he's hard to tackle in space and he'll give teams fits all year. But not sure he has enough weapons around him to out score teams each week cause that's what they'll have to do to win games. Lumberton has some big boys, QB was up and down. He did score their only touchdown on a zone read keeper that faked everyone out, but he struggled passing the ball. It'll be interesting when these two teams meet, but right not I would have to give LCM the slight edge.
  14. Controlled part of scrimmage for 2nd teams OF outscored Lumberton 2-1. Played a half 14-7 OF, OF had a defensive touchdown called back after the officials said the receiver was down, didn't look down to me but oh well. Lumberton is huge as always, they played well in spots but turnovers killed them. I'm interested to see how their year goes. I was really impressed with my Bobcats tonight, had some struggles on offense but we did throw a touchdown pass, that probably hasn't happened in like 10 years. Defense played well, should be an exciting year.
  15. Both teams do, LCM has two pretty good QBs that split time between both 1st team and 2nd teams. We couldn't tackle either, QBs keepers were how LCM scored. OF looked ok on offense, moved the ball well at times but fumbles stalled drives. We'll be ok, trying not to play many kids both ways trying to develop some depth. Once district starts we'll probably have more kids going both ways.
  16. I think Orangefield and LCM are scrimmaging Friday, haven't heard of any times yet.
  17. Please shoot me a private message if interested, thanks!!!

  19. Say Coach T retires this year or within the next 3-5 years, is there anyone on the current staff that can keep the Stangs tradition of winning alive? Cause if they were to go outside the program for a coach, how long would it take for the program to become just normal, or does that mindset of what it takes to be a Stang just carry over regardless of who's calling the shots. I personally believe an outsider regardless of his pedigree would have a hard time keeping the Stangs on an Elite level. They're going to want to do their own thing, and run their program the way they see fit. I just think WOS would have a big drop off, don't get me wrong they would still field some great teams, but state championship teams I just don't know.
  20. Orangefield Buna Woodville East Chambers Kirbyville ??? Tough district!!!
