  1. Brett Ramsey Orangefield 1900 yards and 28 Touchdowns
  2. Doesn't really surprise me, we seem to get ripped off every year. Last year we had a kid lead the district in interceptions at corner and he didn't make the first or second team. To me this is even more of a slap in the face than that. You have a three year starter that put up some incredible numbers this year and he's no where on the list. TWENTY EIGHT TOUCHDOWNS and your not on the list!!! I'll agree that Dishon is a once in a lifetime type athlete, but heck he played tailback about as much as he did QB against us. Something is seriously wrong with this picture!!!
  3. That was an intentional foul, it happened at half court and if the Lumberton girl does not tackle the Orangefield girl it's a layup on the other end...so by what your saying it should have been called an intentional foul. And you can't sit here and tell me that if the roles were reversed, and an Orangefield kid tackled a Lumberton kid that your reaction wouldn't have been the same. I too thought some of our fans went a little overboard but that doesn't make us classless. One last thing, I don't think I've seen any Orangefield people on this board saying that the reason we lost the game was because of the officials. Someone stated that the officials were very inconsistant and bad calls were called both ways. The reason Orangefield lost the game was because of missed free throws and no other reason.
  4. This game was played this past Saturday...when I left it was 24-17 Kountze at the half. Anyone have a final?
  5. Did this game take place Saturday...haven't heard anything about the outcome...someone post a score.
  6. Brett Ramsey QB from Orangefield 180 yards rushing 2 TD's against that Chain Gang Defense of WO-S How many people can say that. There might be better stats from some other players, but no one in the area had a better night than Ramsey. To do what he did against a great defense...he should win this week hands down!!!
  7. I wish we were going to the playoffs too guys...I just wish these kids could have experienced that. Tonight was our playoff game though and I was so proud of the way our kids played. Congrats to the Stangs, yall have a great football team and I really see yall making a long playoff run...Good Luck to you guys. For our team this is something that we can build on for next year, yeah I know we lost 40-13 but our kids never quit and we put up over 260 yards on the ground tonight. If I'm not mistaken that's the most they have given up all year...Silsbee had like 180 something against the Stangs. Say what you want, maybe yall didn't play that well tonight, but maybe, just maybe, those Bobcats had something to do with that. Coach Morrison and his staff have our program heading in the right direction, and hopefully he can keep all these guys here and keep us heading that way.
  8. Make that three... Orangefield 8th 16 WO-S 8th 0
  9. Not sure of our 8th grades record, but they did win tonight... OF 16 WO-S 0
  10. To me the turning point of the game was the roughing the kicker penalty. Why we did that still blows my mind to this day. HF is kicking into a 25mph wind out of their own endzone...the ball is punted to the HF 32 yard line and we rough the kicker and I mean there was no doubt about that call. Orangefield scores there and it's a 14-0 game...that could have changed the entire outcome of the game. But hats off to HF...they kept the game close and found a way to win in the 4th qtr. I knew the game was going to be tough after seeing the scores from HF previous games. Except for WO-S they played everyone close.
  11. Our freshmen are pretty good...they've only combined with the JV once this year and that was this past week against Kirbyville. Kirbyville does not have a freshmen team. They've beat Jasper 19-0 and Silsbee 28-0.
  12. Orangefield 9th grade is 5-0, 2-0 in district
  13. Tough loss for our kids, but they did play hard and we had chances to win the game just couldn't get it done tonight. Hey 3ABirdman, we did look to be out of sinc some tonight, but taking nothing away from Kirbyville. I thought they were the best team we've played all year...sorry Silsbee fans. They have some very skilled players and their little QB is a lot better than I thought he would be. Tonight the little things that we've done the past 2 or 3 weeks we didn't do well. Several dropped passes that killed drives tonight, dropped an interception in the endzone that probably could have been returned for a TD...Kirbyville scores the very next play and just like that what could have been a tied game...they take a two TD advantage. You have to capitalize on things like that against good teams...and Kirbyville is a good team. But what does that say about WO-S...wow they must be in another world!!!
  14. Actually the last five meetings have been dominated by Orangefield...maybe balla is talking about back in the day or something. Check out the link below... [Hidden Content]
  15. This is not the same team that played Splendora. Plus Orangefield had four defensive starters out for that game!!!
  16. Blake Morrison should be mentioned...he has taken a team this year that was picked dead last in almost every publication and has these boys in the hunt for a playoff spot. He's new to the head coaching ranks I understand that, but he has a bright future ahead of him. I just hope we can keep him and his coaching staff around for a long time.
  17. That's the visitor side...the home side is double that!!!
  18. Your right SilsbeeD and that's probably how it should be...I can understand that. Hopefully we can make that happen. I would like to thank a lot of you Silsbee people that have been very positive about our team since we played yall. Not gonna lie to ya, before our game with each other I didn't like a few of ya...LoL!!! I think we gained some respect that night, and hopefully more respect after this Friday night.
  19. Before the Orangefield game, most people on this board were calling the Jasper Bulldogs the best 0-4 team in the area or the state. Why has that changed now after little ole Orangefield beat them? It was okay when they were getting beat by a good Newton team and a good Kirbyville team in close games, but Orangefield beats them handily and now all of a sudden they're horrible. This is the same Orangefield team that had an opportunity to knock off a very good Silsbee team a week earlier. I know you have to earn respect, but I would have thought some had been earned after this win by Orangefield, but I guess not yet. Jasper is not that bad of a team. They have some big kids and a lot of speed. Turnovers and mistakes have been a huge part of their lack of success this year. They had a couple of turnovers against Orangefield that hurt them, but they are also to predictable. I mean Jasper teams in the past could have probably told you exactly what play they were about to run and you still couldn't stop them. Not the case anymore...If I was calling the plays in the stands for them before the snap, what do you think our coaches were thinking. They get in the spread and try to run the ball out of the shotgun. Basically looked to me that they had 2 or 3 plays and that was it. And then everyone in the stadium new that when they got in that pistol formation with the tailback behind the QB in the shotgun, that they were going to run the option. They need to line up in the I formation with that big line and quick big backs and run right at people. Simple as that!!! If they can find an offense they can still upset some folks down the road. Defense isn't bad, they were just on the field all night against Orangefield. Now if the bulldogs have given up, that's a different story. If that is the case, they might not win a game this year!!!
  20. I would have to agree...if there is one bigger in 3A that would be scary to see!!!
  21. Big win for the Cats last night...keep it going baby. These kids play their tails off and I think are finally starting to see that they can play with the big boys of the district. Coaching staff is doing a tremendous job!!! Someone said in an earlier post that Jasper got out coached last night, very true. We seemed to be a step ahead of them all night long and really kept them off balance all night with our play calling. Hat's off to all the offensive coaches, especially Coach Smalley who has done a tremendous job calling plays this year. I'd have to go back several years to find an Orangefield team that averaged 30 pts a game...that's what this team has averaged after 5 games. Defensively they have gotten better every week. Last night Jasper had 27 yards total offense at halftime and only had 130 yards for the game. Fifty of those came on their only touchdown...If they continue to get better and limit the big plays they can really make this a special season in Bobcat Country....Go Cats!!!
