1. Avory should have definitely been on this team!  Very disappointed that he was overlooked.
 2. Keep it up, Blake!  Silsbee is proud of you!
 3. The Silsbee Lady Tigers 4x200 relay won second place at the Texas Relays this weekend.  Congrats to all the kids from 21-3A and our area who competed.
 4.

Sorry Picnroll......talking about the 3a game..heard a couple of rumbles on this site...but could not find anything on tx hoops....
3 or 4 postings on March 12-13. They name the Dallas chapter in the 3A Girls Championship game. It was pretty poor and just looking at second hand info(which I usually dont do) the posters say the Officials were reprimanded immediately after the game........With no personal interest in the outcome I would have to say it was a below average job but again not an easy job to do. I have in all the years I have been associated with the game only one objection to officiating and it isnt done by all officials. As an official scorer I have been asked at halftime by some officials what the foul count was on both teams and if anyone was in foul trouble. Now I understand the officials have the right to look at the official book but wouldnt it be better if they simply asked the official scorer if there were any problems with the book rather than look at foul count? Not all officials do this but those that do raise some eyebrows at the scoring table especially if coaches overhear them. Im not even sure what the UIL allows the referees to do and maybe you could PM me and fill me in on this. I would appreciate it. My thought is I would like the officials to check with the official scorer at half and just see if everything is OK with the book and there are no discrepencies. I dont want them to know who has how many fouls ;) (Help me out here)
What I put in bold in your post is very disturbing to me. I hope this is not regularly going on.
I am also an official scorer and this happens regularly at games.  I also find it disturbing and have complained about it.
 5.
Guys, I am still collecting my thoughts on the game while taking in the rest of the tourney this week. When I get time, I will post stats and a game summary. Right now, I will enjoy the rest of the tourney. I will say this though, it's the consensus of the vast majority of the folks that watched this game( Silsbee fans, Madison fans, other coaches, UIL officials, media, and just the regular fan) that this game was the state championship game. After watching the Estecado and Stafford game, it was pretty evident to everyone there, who the top two teams were, Madison and Silsbee. I even had several of the Frank Erwin Center staff stop me and say that the Silsbee/Madison game should have been the state title game. Tough luck.
As we waited for the Tigers outside the locker room after the game, the Madison coach came by us on his way to the media room.  I told him congratulations and even he said he thought that game was the Championship game.  What a great turnout of Silsbee fans!  The support for our boys was incredible! I am so proud of Coach Williams, these young men, our assistant coaches and our managers! I am so proud to be a part of Silsbee Tiger Basketball! Thank you, Mike, for the many hours you have spent supporting our teams!  Your hard work and dedication to the kids of our community may go unnoticed by some, but not by all.  As a part of Silsbee athletics, I thank you again for making these broadcasts possible for family, friends, and fans who can not always be at the games in person.  My own mother is an avid listener and always has words of praise for your broadcasts.  Keep up the good work and GO TIGERS!!!!!
 6. As the Silsbee Tigers arrived at the Erwin Center we were welcomed by a sea of MAROON!  But the maroon these people were wearing was not Silsbee Maroon.  It was Spurger Maroon!  The Spurger fans were waiting to congratulate and console their team and yet took the time to cheer on the Tigers as well. The people of Spurger gave us a warm welcome as we got off our bus.  Clapping hands, cheers of "Go get 'em Tigers", and "Bring it home to Southeast Texas" greeted us as we entered the Drum. Thank you Spurger for showing your support for our team!  We could not make it to your game, but we were receiving updates throughout and were pulling for you all the way! Inside the building we were able to greet your boys and coaches who also wished us well.  Thank you Spurger for showing such class and sportsmanship!  I was overwhelmed by the greeting and the show of support! All of Southeast Texas should be proud!
 7. So glad to hear you had the opportunity to ref in the State Tournament!  Congratulations!
 8.
Another Tiger-Hawk Classic..these games can't be good for my health. Great seasons for both teams.
I was thinking the same thing as my hands shook uncontrollably, especially during those last 40 seconds! Congratulations Tigers!  Great game HJ!
 9. Way to go Tigers!  Thanks to the staff at Memorial for hosting a great game!  ;)
 10. Just looking at the teams as they entered the gym, I immediately gave the edge to Woodville.  Taller, stronger looking and their record speaks for itself.  But the Hardin girls threw all that out the window.  They didn't come to play, they came to WIN!   #45 deserves a game ball for the defense she played tonight.  I would love to know how many rebounds she had. #10 is the coolest head on the floor.  Team leader and go getter. #1, 15, 20 and 22 all have the smoothest jump shots.  They knocked them down when they were needed and provided some great defense as well. and when # 32 stepped on the court she brought in a spark of energy and leadership that was awesome.  She also coaches a mean game from the bench! Congrats and good luck Hardin!
 11. Coach Sanders needs to bottle and sell whatever he gave the girls at halftime!  They came out on fire and made us all proud!   Congratulations to the players and coaches who refused to listen to the pre-season predictions!  You made us proud last night and all season long!
 12. During high school, Brandi was also Gatorade Player of the Year.  She continues to play professional ball overseas.
 13.
Silsbee's scenerio...They have the two Neely girls...will they have anyone to set the balls to them? If so, they could make a run at the 3rd spot, if not...outside again. I hear a lot about how much better BC got throughout the year...weren't they 4-1 the first 5 games of district and 3-2 the second 5? I'm just saying. They have a very good coach and some very good athletes. The loss of Kosh is a big loss but I believe their passing will be much better next year and that will make it much easier for the two setters that will be playing (the are good setters as well). OF loses one senior and is returning a lot of really good talent. I believe their JV team was undefeated in district as well. They have the girls on J.V. that can fill the shoes. Their backrow next year will be the best in the district, assuming that j.v. libero is up and the libero they had last year is healthy after missing this year. Don't be suprised if you see Rylie win MVP of the district next year. HF lost a lot but the always have the talent coming up. Every year people write them off and every year they prove people wrong. So I'm sure their coaching staff will put together another strong team and they will be okay. Question is...will there be any newcomers to the district?
There is only one Neely girl....Chelsea.

He played in the Lumberton game earlier in the week. I know, I was there.
Haha so your telling us he didn't miss any games at all?
what im saying is Silsbee posters are sayn that certain football players arent ready yet. Im just making a case for Kountze losing to H-J. Silsbee is 10 deep. all 10 didnt play football. i think 1 of their top 5 players did..#4. thats all.
Wrong!  Prentice Lane #23 was a first team all district receiver for the Tigers!
 15. I've got my slicker suit and my rubber boots....Bring on the RAIN!  GO TIGERS!!!!!
 16. Beatrice Douglas---Silsbee---signed with South Carolina State University today!  Congrats Bea!
Actually, it was 95 yard return.
Yeah, that was awesome!  Rhone never missed a step. He read that play all the way!  Beautiful!
