At the Silsbee Homecoming bonfire tonight, the senior football players released 12 blue and silver balloons in Reggie's honor and one single maroon balloon to honor Silsbee softball player, Britney Withers who died last spring.  Lots of tears and applause for two great young people that we lost too soon.

All of the Silsbee Volleyball players wore blue ribbons in their hair last night and senior, co-captain, Katy Adams gave up her #8 jersey and wore #12 in Reggie's honor last night.

Tragic!  My condolences to Reggie's family and the entire WOS family.

Awesome!  So many times it is easy to overlook someone because it causes us to have to work harder!  Thank goodness these coaches and this wonderful woman went that extra step to make sure there was no child left behind!  Makes me proud to be an educator!!!!

The HF tournament had  Gold, Silver and bronze brackets.  Depending on when you won and when you lost determined which bracket you ended up in.  The Silsbee/Orangefield game was the Championship game of the Silver bracket, but could also be considered the Third place game.

I think Silsbee Middle School has one starting on Monday, August 9th from 8:30 to 12:00.  It costs $65.00.  You can register at the door tomorrow morning.

In 2008, Silsbee lost in the Area round in 5 games.

What if an administator did a fall preview like they did for football.  Might get some conversation started.
