Who Is The Best Team In 3A And 4A

I'd stick with the HF for 3a and Ned. for 4a, but I will add I wouldn't be surprised if PNG pulled a coup. -

Most of us over 40 crowd never played soccer, so we don't understand the game. it just looks like a bunch of kids kicking a ball around. Same with hockey. If you don't play a game, ever, it's not easy to like. One other thing. In football, when a collision happens, the players try to get up and act like they are not hurt. In soccer, if you touch the other guy, he rolls around like he is in agony. For me, a non soccer fan, it's a bit of a turnoff. JMHO
you make a good point. and a lot more of the "under-40" crowd knows soccer these days. soccer moms are raising soccer children. i don't think it will ever catch up with the big three in the US, but i can definitely see soccer overtaking hockey and golf in popularity in the next couple of decades.
Tiger Woods pretty much prevented soccer from taking over for a good couple of years with his latest escapades. But yeah I'd say soccer will definitely gain momentum soon enough to overtake the other sports in less than two decades, I could see two decades making it the the big four in the U.S.. I would consider soccer an unstoppable force, and the U.S. an almost immovable object. -
What is with the use of fists in sports recently?
Some players seem to think that a simple friendly game is enough to go irate and lash out against one another. These players should realize that they're not in the gosh darn Colliseum and if they lose they're not gonna die, its a competition that should be handled in a professional manner and if you lose you can say, "hey i did my best and now i really have someone to test my skills on." So lets all love life and love our sports and chill... just a lil... still play rough though.... just not too rough.... well yeah pretty rough.... just don't throw a punch..
Well said -

I realize that's professional soccer, and the majority of the time they incur a fine or penalty of sorts on and off the field. Yet with soccer around here there is maybe a card given in some instances, well not maybe, if it's seen then a card is given....usually. -

I agree in that it isn't necessarily a new problem, but lately it seems to have blossomed. -
Honestly, when did this become a popular trend? That's not all that disturbs me, but the lack of repercussions for soccer players. For instance, an Ozen female basketball player threw one punch and is now "indefinitely suspended from the girls basketball team and will attend an alternative campus"[sub]1[/sub]. Along with that the article goes on to say that charges are being pressed on said female player. Now, in the soccer world a player who throws a punch after a fellow teammate has already thrown a punch he gets to boast about it on his web-page with ZERO repercussions..."broke my hand on some dudes face.. knock out but i think i got the worst of it"[sub]2[/sub], I mean, at least he admits to getting the worst of it. I guess if a sport is under the radar of the masses for an area players can control it, not the coaches or refs as intended. I don't blame the refs and coaches solely, the players themselves should have more respect for the game and fellow players. What is going to be done to prevent further instances? Or should we just roll over and accept it? References: [sub]1[/sub] [Hidden Content] i've been asked to take the link to the myspace site off of this thread.

Why yes it is, but thanks on the list.

@ThatSoccerGuy That "fight" is what I'm referring to, I too have seen the video. Unfortunately I did not see how the coaches handled it, I only watched the one Silsbee player reach said Lcm player without any contest.
-
I was upset with the ways that slide talking from behind has become customary and also the fact a player is allowed to take 6 steps to hit a guy, then another guy can come off the bench and hit the same player without any impediment. The score was 6-2. I don't know what individual players scored, but I do know that Silsbee cycled goalies.

they're coming hard this year. no doubt.
THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!
Alright seriously? Like I've seen more intelligent sentences formed by a toddler... Anyways, I'd say as far as 4a Guys goes as a whole for the area: 1: Nederland 2: PNG,Lumberton, Lcm 5: HF 6: Vidor, Ozen 8: Livingston 9: HJ 10: Silsbee Ps. Amen to Katdaddy

Vidor and Lcm happened again with another L for Vidor. -
Alright, I shouldn't have tried to single out a specific player, but I didn't intend to though. I guess I should've made it more blatant that I was using one game as a reference to the increase in unsporting conduct in the area. Granted I realize soccer has contact, and there isn't too much that can be done about that. I am referring to the cheap shots and lack of respect for the game that has shown up lately. The Silsbee and Lcm game was just the most recent example. But I will draw on the fact that other threads have criticized teams for the poor play and dirty plays yet they have remained posted.

I mean hey there was some gooooooddd sportsmanship in that game
