  1. Yeah, I heard that too. Both teams will benefit from turf field, but I think the change will help CC and make the game closer. No Boneyard home field advantage and I would think a good many Pirate fans who don't have kids involved will have to miss the game due to distance and work on Friday morning.
  2. Yeah, they left some points on the field due to some first game mistakes and botched exchanges. QB should get better with the snaps as he gets more comfortable with the transition from safety to signal-caller.
  3. Can't take CC lightly, it could very well be a trap game if the Pirates go into it thinking about an easy win based on past history.
  4. Not just an unfamiliar offense that may have affected the Bears, defense was stout too. One score was following a long kickoff return aided by a facemask penalty at the end and the second TD was following a high snap over punters head where they took over around the 15.
  5. Don’t base opinion solely on what you saw at Silsbee scrimmage. As mentioned yesterday Vidor was not at full strength due to illness. Nausea, diarrhea and football don’t mix well. Not saying anything about them being 19 points better, especially since it was just a scrimmage just that it was a little different Vidor team as far as personnel available to play.
  6. Against Silsbee, several boys had a stomach virus and nausea and either did not play or could not play much.
  7. Congratulations to PNG on a convincing win. I can see an undefeated regular season as a probable outcome, but in rivalry games, (Nederland) a lot of times the contests are a tossup regardless of records. (See Texas/OU last week). As a Pirate and Longhorn fan, I will be glad to see Roschon depart the Reservation and begin his college career on the 40 Acres, it's just a shame he has to wait til after next year. (Lol)
  8. Very classy post. A hard fought game and a hard earned win. Good luck to the Raiders.
  9. What's with Vidor's PATs, missed/blocked kicks?
  10. This should be a close game, Pirates will need to cut down on the drive killing penalties.
  11. Good effort in brutal heat by both teams. #3 Simmons is a hard runner and Ned QB1 can make most throws. Pirates and 'Dogs are fairly evenly matched IMO. Congrats on the win Bulldogs and for the Pirates, regroup and on to Lumberton.
  12. I agree. After they beat West Brook so bad earlier in the year, I started checking out their weekly game scores. Nice to see a local regional 6A team taking down a power program like Allen.
  13. San Antonio Express newspaper has an account of the game with some of the Navarro coach's statements. Quite complimentary of the Mustangs.
  14. I agree with the parking issues and walking, and the multi school off campus stadiums are generally always nicer and up to date because they're newer. No argument about the facility and parking being better. However, fans of the teams with on campus stadiums are used to their limitations because that's how it's always been.
  15. IMO, an on-campus high school football stadium usually gives the fan a better game experience and probably creates more of a home field advantage during the regular season.
  16. 32 years, Tim's record was set in 1984. I imagine it will be some time before whatever Haylon's record winds up being will be broken.
  17. Well, he's got the Memorial game and at least one round in the playoffs to add to it.
  18. Career record. Tim had 4484 yards, set it in 1984.
