  1. in the past, i have seen dayton teams throw early in the season and then start running, and run the ball down opponents throats the remainder of the season.  when they have passing personnel they will throw and run about 50/50.  coaches do great job of setting tendencies and then break them and do what they do best.  i agree with tyrone, this is a potentially very good team that is well rounded and believe the coaches will do what is best in order to win in district.  those first 3 games mean nothing in the long run other than dayton played a harder schedule than anyone else and that will help them in the long run. if dayton has a weakness, it is maybe they do not have enough team leaders on the field. do not mean this as a negative, but players have to step up and if they do not, then the season will not reach its full potential.
  2. barbers hill may make the playoffs but this is probably the weakest district in class 4A in the state.
  3. bh will play hard, as usual.  fans will be raving. dayton wins by 32.
  4. i do not remember sealy winning state 4 years in a row,  maybe they did, but i do not think so.  eric dickerson was there when they did, but i do not think 4 in a row, or 4 period.
  5. if dayton's defense does not get tired in the 2nd half and they have the last 3 games, they win by 40+
  6. do not make the head game worse.. make them aware and leave it alone.  it will correct itself.  believe i heard something similiar from an ole oiler coach.
  7. apparently bh could not run the spread or price would still be there and now they cannot run the flex bone.  two extremes. must be something in the middle they need. gage should check with town folk to see what they think he should run.  i am sure they have an opinion even though many have never buckled a chin strap but many had kin folks that did.
  8. dayton  then crosby and who ever shows up late.
  9. it is up to athletic ability regardless of the coaching if the athletes you play are better and the coaching is equal or better, regardless of genes.
  10. gage wins the next 9, no one cares about the uniforms.. that will be a new statement for eternity... if they lose 5 out of the last 9, the uniforms did it.
  11. fairly close game.  bh loses by 20
  12. as i have said before, price will bring hf back to glory days.  he started out good and will improve each week.  he is better off at hf, and so is hf.
  13. jackie you are right, no one can blame price for what happened last week or the weeks to come.
  14. dayton wins by 17 in a high scoring game. do not discount vanover, look at his record in the past 15 years.
  15. as far as the 2nd team qb,  how many starters did santa fe have in the game in the 4th quarter
  16. dayton out played elkins and should have won the game.  the game plan was great, but the fumbles interrupt the plan.first game against a quality team and dayton really prevailed.  hope they had no injuries and i do not think that they did.  if they can go into the district race healthy, with this pre season schedule,  they will be awesome.
  17. got to give gage a chance.  one game will not make a season and his plan has only just begun.  he did not win in the past by being lucky.  he is a hall of fame coach who knows what he is doing and much more than his critics.  it may take a year or two for him to bring bh to championship material.
  18. if dayton does not turn the ball over,  they win.
  19. think bh will win this in a close game.  if they do not win, it may be a long season.
  20. hebert was something else and led by alex durley who was a fine man and a great coach..  another team that does not exist today that was great was lufkin dunbar.  led by elmer redd who went on to u of h.  lufkin high would not be as successful if dunbar was still around.
  21. bet price is successful this year, in playoffs, and returns h-f to glory next year.
