Tough battle, Pius defense has tightened up since last meeting a 5-0 victory for Kelly. Pius lost recently to Agnes only 1-0 which shows big improvement on their side. Kelly needs to win out to hold there 2nd place spot in the district.

Kelly dominated the game but failed to capitalize on the opportunities. Zuri had several shots on goal that just did not find the net, one in particular where she broke away cleanly from the defense on a thru ball and then put a brilliant move on a charging  goalie, with everyone behind her she pushed it wide left  :'( that one hurt. It would have given Kelly the 2-1 lead early in the second half. Later she told me she had a bad angle. From the stands it looked like she could have walked it in. Yasmine Afshar also found herself one on one with the goalie and just could not put it away early in the first half. One of the best plays of the night was when Coach Brittney moved Teilor Long up from her defensive home, to the left mid position. With Madeline and Yasi drawing the defensive and all the attention to the right side of the field. Teilor called for the ball and Madeline hit her with a perfect pass that she dribbled to withing 20yds and hit a rocket which glanced outward off the near post :o. It was just that kind of night. I think there will be a better outcome in the next match.

If your team (where ever you are is better. bring em.. help us build this tournament(3rd annual 2011) for the Triangle.... so our girls do not have to travel as often to find good competition. 8)

HJ played in a bracket including, Kelly JV (Bridge City replacement) Galveston O'Connell and Ozen. HJ was high point and played the High point from the other 4 team bracket.

I thought they were the best team I had seen on a high school soccer field.  They had us 4-0 at the half and then put in the entire 2nd string and we were still over matched.

Yasimine Afshar scoring and defending in both Games against Lumberton and PN-G. Show why she deserves the nod as the best female player in the triangle. Horning's stout defense is moving her up the polls.

Kelly vs Lumberton update for sharkstooth. JV teams ended a 1-1 draw. Varsity game was very hard fought with Kelly scoring 1 goal in the first half. The game stayed 1-0 through 70 minutes until Kelly scored a 2nd and 3rd goal late. for a 3-0 final. I am a Kelly homer, but I will say the Lady Raiders were impressive for not having any game time under their belt. Their defensive was very tenacious and Caitlyn Stowe put a scare on our defense a few times herself. Cannot wait for this weekend. We have imported some of the frozen tundra from Lambeau field.:o

In the Gold A bracket is: Kelly Bay Area Christian PN-G Pope John Paul-Katy In the Gold B bracket is: West Brook Lumberton Fort Worth Arlington Heights Second Baptist Houston I really know nothing about the teams outside of our area. There is a whole other Blue division which consist of 8 other equal talent teams. High Point A plays High Point B for 1st and 2nd Runners up play for 3rd and 4th if I understand it right. I will try to get someone to post a schedule. Remember tonight  Kelly and Lumberton.... JV play at 5:00 and Varsity at 7:00. If you are interested in doing a little scouting.

They Matched up Kelly and PN-G the first game of the Winter Classic. 4:00pm Spindletop Select Fields. Come out and support. It ought to be a good one. ;)

There will be a Girls JV and Varsity  Scrimmage at Kelly High School Lumberton vs Kelly Girls Tuesday 1/5 game times are 5 and 7. Come out and support.

I remember my first gun under the tree. Savage single shot .22, then a Mossberg bolt action .410, then a lever action 30-30. then a Winchester pump 12gauge. Do not have any of those guns some 35 years later and it makes me SAD! Thanks Mom and Dad!

Saw 4 bucks this morning near my home at Walden and Major. small buck tried to challenge Boss Buck, Boss buck quickly nip that in the bud and then tended a scrap, two other bucks then appeared out of the brush. Another 8pt and another younger buck. Crazy thing upon further inspection said Boss Buck had already shed an antler.  Cool to watch, seldomly (Never) do I get to watch that kind of activity from my deer stand near Jasper. Probably cause I am to quick to shoot and ask questions later.  Still maturing in my hunter wisdom. ::)

Weatherby has deal right now called the Weatherby 399. It's the synthetic Vanguard in Almost any caliber you would be interested in and I believe that includes the 7-08. Yep just verified it does come in the 7mm-08. He will have that gun a long time. Bear i just did a recon mission for you and found a Stevens in 7mm-08 for 199.00 brand new list price was 279.00. Yes it is ugly (tan) but I was suprised by the reviews on this gun. It is nothing to look at and feels light but the reviews where pretty good. Let me know if you want more information. I live in Beaumont and the gun is in Houston a few blocks from where I work.
