Don't like it. It is already watered down. Why not keep it simple. 1st and 2nd in each district and the current classifications. I don't like the whole Div 1 and Div 2 for the small school/big school. If you are 3A, you are 3A. You end up with 10 (i know the number is not accurate) different state champs in football??? Keep it simple UIL.

i will assume that nine "key" players mean nine starters. if any high school was to lose nine starters, it would be make a difference. i have not seen Liberty play this year, so i will no comment on team, coaches, individuals or whatever. But Dayton, WO-S, or any other program would have some struggles replacing nine starters. But just because they start in Liberty, doesn't mean they would start anywhere else. But if those players filled starting roles, they must have been the best at that position the coaches had to pick from.
Hopefully they can turn it around. -

I had the pleasure of spending most of the summer with Sadiq,he looks older, but if you knew him, he is just like any other high school student.
Not trying to bash the player or his character. Just looks a lot older than the other kids on the court. What i saw, he handled himself well and appeared to be the leader on the court. He was fouled hard a couple of times, but didn't think a thing of it and shot his free throws.
Is he the top player on the team? -
All the way with HJ!!
-
maybe that is it. Except my wife says that i look younger bald vs the horseshoe i would be wearing if i could grow hair. :).

UIL just ruled on his (Sadiq) grades and credits. He is considered a junior. Has an extra year to play high school.
a Junior??? in what country? i saw this guy Saturday, and like i said, he looks 30 years old. Guy could walk into any liquor store in Houston and walk out with his favorite beverage and not be questioned.
I did like seeing the full court press from the opening tip. i like that. come out aggressive and put the opposing team on point right away. With the lack of quality ball handlers (don't work on fundamentals enough IMO) turn overs leads to easy basket. Not shocked to see them score tons of points. -
7 kids today. 1 was in a band competition and another didn't show.
-
Sorry I left early. Yates had a guy, looked like he was 30, with a sweet alley oop early in the game.

Aldine Nimitz HS and 9th campus

This next game looks like it will be UGLY..Yates vs 7 lakes

Nederland 20
Pearland 26
Halftime.

If they were to recruit, is there enough of a talent pool in the Golden Triangle to compete with the likes of Yates? I no longer live in the GT and just follow the scores and posts on this site.
-
Thank you. I may get out and catch some hoop action.

In this second game, Nederland's ball movement was too much for a tired Tiger team. The Tiger's appeared to have expended most of their energy in hard fought game with Memorial. It was an interesting evening as far as officiating as they were training new refs. In some of the games they would sub in new sets of refs every few minutes and they would recieve lessons even during play.
that's a good idea. The refs need training, why not do it during the fall scrimmages? The teams (most of them) are not playing with all 5 starters and learning what players can play and it what roles they can play. Glad to see the refs getting some game time training and instruction.
