  1. This might ruffle feathers but... I believe only one of those teams has a (Season) win record over .500 Of course it wont matter wo Silsbee might play if they cant get their offense back on track. Takes points to win in playoffs, usually. Just numbers but some of you wanted some fuel for the thread. lol.
  2. It has been an off year for Silsbee no doubt. Can't really put my finger on anything real specific, but I will mention that the 4th Qtr intensity and focus is missing. I think that takes a clear leader on defense, and right now I don't see that. There are several candidates and I'm waiting, patiently for one of them to take the reins. Sidenote opinion:. I would keep in mind that if Silsbee's offense gets back on track I would not want to play them as a #4 seed. The defense has been steady, if not scary at times with talent. I'll see you on the broadcast folks... Jmo
  3. To clear the question: Questionable Block In the Back Call on play led to a late hit retaliation by BC which in turn led to Another late hit retaliation. There was some scuffling and helmet grabbing but it was broken up quickly. Offsetting personal fouls. Play over. No other incidents.
  4. Update: Kickoff @ 8 PM Broadcast will start @ 7:30 PM Weather Permitting
  5. Also, TexanLive broadcast has been cancelled. Just got this update.
  6. Kickoff Time pushed back. 7:45 Kickoff Start Time Due to Weather
  7. Thanks for the compliment. It can be hard to stay neutral, but we are working on it.
  8. Thanks Aggies. I was just about to post my rough stats and though they were close they were not the same.
  9. I can say that there was a laptop failure last night and it took some time to replace. I've seen it happen.
  10. I'm just going off what I was told. I asked specifically so i can't answer that with absolute authority. I have asked two different camera personnel. TexanLive patches our audio into their feed so I don't have control over the video. It may be different for some bigger schools and every school is carried under same restrictions. Hope that helps.
  11. TexanLive is not allowed to broadcast halftime activities live. Something to do with copyright issues. We do leave the crowd mic on during the home team activities at half. Hope that helps.
  12. I apologize for not having the complete game stats ready instantly. Our normal stats person was out last night and it can be tough to do the play by play and keep accurate stats. I appreciate the patience and understanding.
  13. Which touchdown? Pretty sure it was announced when it happened.
  14. My take..... There will always be something that affects a football roster. Back to football if we can. If rosters stay the way they were, I don't care of the situations. The difference in this game would be whether or not Silsbee Offense can find it's rhythm. The defense will do it's thing and create opportunities. Can Silsbee sustain a 4th Qtr now? Can Silsbee gain its identity? They are a young defense, but 6 weeks in it's time to put that excuse to bed and make the adjustments. Can WOS survive its own bite? Is this that year? Crazy district shakeup? Every team has it's challenges. I for one am looking forward to this game. Time to ball.
  15. Harsh.... You never know. Might like the new guys.
  16. Please tell me, I'm not the only one..??
  17. There were several things during this game that kept the score marginal. The Bobcat offense was solid. Took advantage of every opportunity that was given. Along with their motivation it was a good game to watch. That is how you win football games. Capitalizing on opportunities. Silsbee did not perform well in second half by a long way. It is definitely a concern down the road if they plan on turning the season around to try and make a run.. It was a great win by Orangefield and definitely pits this district on notice to not take any team lightly. Jmo
  18. For those who are following these short interviews Week 4 Re-Cap & Week 5 Pre-View against Orangefield is covered in this weeks sitdown with Silsbee Tigers HFC Randy Smith. Conversation is 20 min long and Coach Smith discusses the Pleasant Grove game and his thoughts about that game, some special teams discussion and then a quick overview of the upcoming game with Orangefield Bobcats. To all those who have viewed and listened to these short conversations I appreciate it. It is a work in progress. #TigerNation
  19. Few things... 1) Silsbee Defense has continued to get better. There conditioning has improved 3fold since the Vidor game. That along with some key additions to help rotate out the DLine has made this defense even faster. 2) The weather. It will not be hot. That one thing I believe is gonna be a difference and could well make this young defense even more dynamic. 3) Vidor had excellent field position the whole game and the long 8+ minute drive in the fourth qtr that put a nail in Tigers energy. I dont expect that to be the case tonight but Silsbee Special Teams has tested the young Tigers defense in some tough spots early in their schedule. They must play better in these key situations to advance deep. It will be a great litmus test for the Tigers to see just where they are and how much they have improved because Orangefield brings a lot of returning players to the field. Look forward to the game and best of luck. #TigerNation
  20. My apologies. Quoting your post was probably not the best approach to the topic, but my attention was to point out that nothing cost Silsbee those games other than the level they were playing at the time. Both losses were due to loss of focus and conditioning. Not a good combination for young players. The "accept it" phrase was not directed at you personally. Just addressing the number of statements that placed blame on anything but the reasons I just mentioned. And yes, we are on the same team. #TigerNation
  21. Several things about this statement. (1) Silsbee lost. Youth played a big part. Accept it. (2) Silsbee Coach does not prevent the QB from running. QB choice most of the time. 3) WR depth is deep. Not sure of best players not playing because the ones on field during these games are pretty dang good. Jmo
  22. Not sure what you are saying... C. Tyler was a special back. He broke more 70 yd TD runs than I have ever seen, I think he had three of those in a game once. Back on topic. We said that there hasn't been many backs, if any, since Tyler who had that amount of carries in a game. Dodd has done it back to back games.
  23. Silsbee had Calvin Tyler first year of Smith. One slip at the goal line and another trip on defense sealed it. Then the calls for poor coaching, etc started rolling in. Again, some are just not patient and even worse never satisfied.
  24. It doesn't happen overnight. Look at the first couple years from Silsbee's coaching change, though few would wanna go back to some of those comments. Though there will always be haters. Lol.
