5.
Yeah, I agree with forgetting the past. Nederland did not beat PNG for like 19 years in the 60's and 70's. I would like to completely forget about that. I want to start history at about the 1993 season. Nederland leads Mid-County Madness in the all time records 13-6. [IMG][Hidden Content]] Great idea dawgbacker. Typically, it is not reality but I like it.
I belive we got that streak started in 88..But I could be wrong because after Coach Deroun  Nederland high school got Coach August and they may not have won that next year....Speaking of a bad runs...That year Nederland made the playoffs for the first time in 24 years...We went to CE King and Mcfarland had 7 picks 2 for TDs ...24years later still making the playoffs...And some of the old players still making the news ;)
 6. Still doing those kids right....Can not say thanks enough ...Miss you guys Chip ,Matt , J.R , and Jimmy...........Bubba Sonnier

 9.
Ok thedogs...where to start.... A) Yes I agree 100% select is more competetive. B) I don't believe the team you play for determines your ability many many many great ball players have been around loooooongggg before select was ever a concept. Hard work, determination, and dad getting off his arse and going out and throwing BP to you til his arm hurts are all ingredients to a good ball player. C) I have 4 sons, 2 of which have played heavily in select, and little league at the same time, hands down they both enjoyed little league more, and both are well above average players. D) I have heard the little league/dinosaur theroy since I was playing little league and that was (longer than I care to mention) ago. Reality is ESPN is not knocking down select organizations doors to air their world series. E) The winnig combination to creating a great ball player, is a kid that strives to get better each year with work ethics, a stong moral fiber, a good set of fundamentals from little league/select/and private lessons from someone that knows more than me (dad) and the dedication from me (dad) and athlete to get out and work on the skill sets that you have been taught. We have played with and against MANY select players that just do not have it usually due to lack of dedication so the travel ball makes you better theroy is busted. As I have said the world is big enough for select ball, and little league ball and my kids have played a LOT of both I am sure I have skin melanomas forming now from the endless weekends sitting in the sun at various ball parks around the area. I am just tired of the select ball people always feeling that little league with "all of it's rules" (imagine rules), is a "threat" to their flawless and impeccable game. We play both, and we enjoy both. Both have their pro's and con's, both can be a blast or a curse, and both will serve the purpose of making my kids more well rounded, and hopefully build memories and friendships.
Well said MOFO...
I haven't coached in two years, but I have for many years.  Coached my sons all the way up through Sr. Babe Ruth.  And like I said, MOST coaches don't have an eye for talent.  Of course there are some who do. It's just ridiculous when it's obvious. If a kid can't field ground balls worth a darn, why would you put him in the infield if you have another one, etc? If a kid is not a very consistant hitter, why put him in the top of the batting order, giving him more at bats than most? Most coaches don't teach fundamentals.  They go to practice, throw some BP while all the players are standing around, and that's it. [/quoute] Yep you are correct..did you coach in Ned LL
 11.
This is Dylan Hendricks mom and first I would like to say I am sorry if you thought I was ranting on FB I think more like an upset mom looking out for her child and I now see that they have to learn at an early age there are dissappointments in life and you have to keep your head up and move on! As far as Dylan hitting sometimes your wrong Dylan had an amazing season including as you say it the longballs but his hitting was excellent and not sometimes are you sure we are talking about the same kid? I understand hitting home runs will not get him on an Allstar team but Dylan is an allround excellent player and rarely makes a mistake in the feild if you had watched my son you would have seen some excellent plays some that you would remember for a long time! He pitched and this was def not where he was strongest he did above avg. and always gave 100 percent when they put him on the mound! Please remember that we have family that read this and friends and remember he is only 12 and those longballs as you call them well he has not stopped smiling since he hit he first one!!!
Libby check your PM
 12.
I think he's talking about how WOS will be booby-blocking with the rest of Pop Warner this year.  I'm wondering how many more kids will get hurt because of poor conditioning and limited hitting, other than on game days.... [Hidden Content] Also, Yoda was around "a long time ago, in a a galaxy far, far way."  Correct yo self. [/quot] Don't know if I like this rule very much ???
 13.
I never stated that Nederland all starts was a select team and they were already practicing. I said that they were pretty much already selected to the team before the season was over...regardless of their season stats. This is very unfair to the kids who had better stats than lets say..half of the team.
I am guessing you have coached with Hensley in the fall ..But I could be wrong..The kid is good enough to be on this team no doubt, as far as stats go I do not think his are better than half of this team ..yes some for sure.. In my opinion a all star coach has to make sure his basic defence and pitching is coverded ..That is how I vote for my team..What I want to know is was the kid talked about in the draft..I am a manager in the majors , but I had to work so I was not able to sit in the draft..I understand the draft was already a little heated due to a coaches son that was also good enough to be on the team but he did not make it ...So my question is what was the focus on in this draft... ;)
 14.
You know, it's really not that bad not being picked for allstars. [glow=red,2,300]Most of the coaches have ABSOLUTELY no eye for talent anyway,[/glow] and were only picked as coaches by the daddy rule anyway
DO YOU COACH hvac ?
 15.
Wow? So Neerland knows who has and has not made it? I know our league has not announced as of yet. [glow=red,2,300]If im not mistaken when we drafted all stars the board and head coach were the only ones to know who made it and it was clearly communicated that if word got out before the announcment date [/glow] that our league would be DQ'd per District 32 ADA. Very interesting.......... :o
If you are a manager in the draft you will know who makes the team...So that means 7 managers know who is on this team in NLL..And as far as this team practicing 6 of the kids have been in New York playing select ...

 19.
The kids name is Dylan Hendricks.  His mommas last name is Moss.  Is sounds to me like Keith Stone read all of the mommas rants last night on FaceBook and got on here to start stuff.  I find it hard to believe that Keith Stone has any clue as to what he is talking about when he doesn't even know the kids name.  Good try though!  ::)
I got you Mack ..The kid can hit sometimes he had 5 long balls.. He tied with Feltman on league leading home runs...But the game is not just about the long ball.. ;)
 20.

How did that work out for you last year?
Be careful now ! If I remember correctly Nederland had some very favorable conditions in last years contest . Vidors district rushing leader went out in the second play of the game . Montana Quirante ( MVP)was rushed back from Arizona from a relatives funeral and barely made it there by game time (very tired) ! Quirante went out in the second half of that game also. Nederland also had home field advantage . Now with all that being said Neederland still had to come back and eek out the victory on a GO route caught out of bounds . ( Just like their victory over WOS )
Geez, excuses, excuses...Go routes caught out of bounds???  what are you talking about?? and as for missing players, Nederland had a few as well including 2 all-district performers on defense...bottom line, Nederland started off with 2 uncharacteristic turnovers (part of the game) and spotted Vidor 10 points and still managed to win. So apparently, bobcat, you don't remember correctly.
We better be careful ...we do not want to stir up the vidor faitful.  ;)
