Is WO-S better then recent years or is LC-M not as good as people gave them credit? WO-S had every chance to win untill the end it looks like.

Way too early to make that call! Looked like a combination of many things to me. Extended layoff due to rain, cold, maybe under estimated WOS, lack of on field and live game reps, BBCOR, and certainly the fact that WOS played hard and smart baseball. Make no mistake, LCM is talented and has some really good, young, power arms for sure. Like all the other teams who are behind schedule right now, give them a few games and then make a determination. My guess is both LCM and WOS do just fine.

There you go. I know you meant to put that lol.  8)
Oh man simple mistake of course ;)
But in all honesty I think the fourth spot will be between Liv and Vid.
That could be very true honestly any of the top 5 schools could be in any spot it's going to be a battle week in and week out

    Dickie,

Nederland split with Ozen and Central and looks as though they will finish atop the district tied with Central and a game ahead of your Panthers. If they are so bad, then what does that say about Ozen who finished second behind them?
It says that although the kids are still there, the program is headed toward the toilet, by splitting with Nederland!  8)

Nederland may not win state this year but I believe what the program has achieved over the last few years is a greater accomplishment than winning a title at an established program where basketball is the only athletic priority.

    No sir... ::)....Not even close....
Just a matter of perspective" sir".  And, in this case, my opinion is 100% every bit as valid as yours.  Your lengthy basketball resume has no extensive turnarounds in it and therefore you dont have as much insight in that area as you perceive yourself as having.  A shining example is last year when Tom Thibodeau was selected Coach of The Year with Doug Collins and Greg Popovich behind him.  Nowhere in the voting was Eric Spoelstra and/or Rick Carlisle who fought it out in the NBA finals.
I guess you and I, although both brilliant, have different perspectives on the subject... ;) 8)
Perhaps you have forgotten that I am familiar (from close up) with state championships both from a players and coaches perspective.

Regarding your toilet comment- I guess that also applies to Ozen splitting with Livingston?
Been there, done that, a time or two, and yes...the Livingston split is a part of that toilet conclusion... 8)
Ozen the toiler dwellers.... has a certain ring to it.
They will be OK in due time, and things will be back to normal.....its an easy fix... ::) ::)
Let me get this straight.  Nederlands split with Central and Ozen equals doomsday for Nederland, but Ozens split with Livingston is not?  How convenient.
Im not a very qualified poster in this matter but I can say that although I do agree with DV that 20-4A is prolly not the best district in the region I wouldn't say programs are going to the dumps. As you can tell I'm a baseball guy not basketball but let me try to put it into perspective last year in baseball Livingston swept PN-G but PN-G is obviously a top notch program in our area. My point is anything can happen in high school sports each kid and each team plays with pride and strives for success and upsets can happen.

I think this could be a great year for setx baseball. There are several team that could be playing deep into the playoffs. But these are my 2cents heading in.

    1. Bridge City-Just loaded with talent and experience
    2. Nederland-pitching, pitching, and uh more pitching
    3. Barbers Hill-looks like the new coach is ready to get the most out of the talent rich program
    4. PNG-Loads of talent moving up to fill the wholes left from graduation. Will suprise lots of folks
    5. Jasper-Return almost all from last year. Expect these guys to play deep.
    6. GCM-Must find a way to replace Jacobs, but still have plenty of pitching
    7. Livingston-one elite arm. if they can add to that they could move up fast
    8. LCM-lots of wholes to fill in the top of the lineup, but they always seem to find a way
    9. Vidor-will be young but talented. need to gell early and then will compete with LCM for 4th
    10. Sislbee-Have more returning than people realize. Already signed 2 seniors.

Ozen-my sleeper pick in 20-4a to make the playoffs. If anyone stumbles Ozen will be there to take their place. I really like some of their players this year. Depth is always a problem though.
Livingston has 2 all-district pitchers returning also

What does silsbee have that puts them on this list
I was wondering the same thing and read about their success last year. Went three deep and lost to LaGrange right?
They also have a couple college commits
