1. Not trying to be disrespectful but suprising how some people don't understand the concept of District Play and playoffs mean nothing in this vote. As I've stated before all awards should be based on the stats during district play, no pre-season or playoffs. I will be .50 cents extra per ticket to have the district hire a 3rd party stat person for each game so no one calls foul. That is the only way it will every be fair. Looks like 19-4A has the same POLITICS! ;)
2.
Relax. It's high school. The real game starts at the next level in all sports. Let them enjoy the accomplishments and enjoy HS. As we all know, this is the BEST TIME OF THEIR LIFE.
I agree and hope Merka has the last laugh. Dayton always puts out great atheletes but Merka deserved more. As I stated on our district choices unless they go by stats then it is no more than a typical HS popularity contest. Congrats to all the kids that play on the list or not. Sad to see ya'lls district is just as screwed up as ours. :(
3.
Unless you have an independent stat person at each game, then stats can be slanted.  Do you count how good the rb and wr block? Should you?  The only way you can change this process is to become a coach yourself and work to change the process to your liking.
This is not about my liking, I have friends at all schools and go watch as many games as I can. All sports are based on numbers therefore I asked the question why stats are not used. Not that difficult to keep up with, no hidden agenda for me, I just want the kid with the best numbers at his given position to be rewarded regardless of school. As someone stated before Trevin is District MVP in my book.
4. Can someone explain why stats are not used? I spoke to a local writer and he said they do not like the process. Is this something each district decides on it's on? Seems like there would be UIL guidelines. Like others have said not doing so is cheating the players on all teams. Congrats to 20-4A  players on and off the list!
5. I sure hope your district has better standards than ours, I'm sure most of you have seen that stats play no role on 20-4A All District honors. I hope ya'lls kids are treated better!
6. I thought I was joking in a earlier post about stats not counting, but now that it has been confirmed does say a lot about our district. Sure thought we were above this low of standards. Just like daily high school life it's all a popularity contest, great job in teaching our kids to work hard coaches. Congratulations to all those who play.
7. Thanks bh89-2, I really like ya'lls complex. Cougtalk- one last thing, yesterday in the KC vs. Seattle game J. Charles for KC & for Seattle J. Babineaux from same high school and Earl Thomas from WOS. In Falcons vs Packers on the Falcons the other Babineaux brother from P.A., Sean Weatherspoon from Jasper and game winning Matt Bryant from Bridge City. Sorry couldn't help it!
8. No offense takin Cougtalk, just my opinion, proud of the area and those who have had success.
9.
Yall need medical attention after BH hammered your tails and then Manvel put a whipping on ya.   ;D ;D
As long as it's the good stuff. ;) Won't be long we will be using your very nice basebal field in the playoffs, feel free to come and watch a good team. ;D
10. Cougtalk, don't you think those areas you named have quite few more in way of population then the area I am talking about. I guess I should have pointed that out in my original post, I'll stand by the fact that based on the POPULATION of our area we have had a remarkable amount of talent come from here in a many different talents.
11.
This just In:   20-4a All District 1st Team Offense:                     QB - PNG'S, RB's - PNG'S, OL - PNG'S, WR's - PNG'S                     MVP - PNG'S Defense for forcing the offense to score all                                 those points and making everybody look so good                               with the extra opportunities.                     Coach of the Nation goes to Faircloth                     Did we leave anyone out?  ::)
Your point is valid, yes we went over the top myself included. I would like to know what the selection process is for the coaches? You cannot deny that stats must not count for as much as most think. Congrats to all those who play not only the studs.
12.

No Doubt about it...this is not the list...so yall can take it off here!
And where is the list then?
Not sure what enjun is talking about it is in the Beaumont Surprise, I would hate to think they would be that stupid to put it in print.
13. Great post Kicker, these poor kids live in a "Drama" world. From the shows they watch to the behavior those of us that are suppose to be adults show in daily life. Not only to they face attacks from opponents from other schools but have to deal with crude that goes on inside their very own school. Some how some way respect for others must be instilled in our children or they will be the losers in the long run. Go PNG!
14.
I wonder how this list compairs to stat leaders??? I'd love to see that.
There is no way stats were taken in to consideration on either side of the ball. No disrespect for the young man named Def. MVP from Central because he is an awesome talent but I would like to see the numbers of tackles, tackles for loss, interceptions, blocked punts/field goals etc. for him vs. DJ. Sorry to vent and congratulations to all those who were recognized and to those who weren't and played hard all year. I would also like to go on the record to commend Ozen for team with "The Most Heart" of the year, they never gave up in any game and could have easily had a playoff record! Go PNG!
15. Both teams have nothing to be proud of in the way of sportsmanship. This is a trend that is growing in HS sports and it is sad to see. As someone mentioned earlier I was very impressed as well (and nervous) that #5 went and found DJ(#33), I think he realized DJ gives his heart and soul on every play and respected him for that. Manvel has the chance to be a force for years to come if they learn to chill out. Regardless if it is PNG or any team you cannot let another team cause you to react in a negative way. Good luck to those remaining in the playoffs and to all the kids who play sports are in the band/cheerleaders or dance teams. To those of you who have kids still playing or will be playing in the future help them be good people on and off the field. College and pro sports are out of control and our kids see this and think it is normal. Teach them to respect others and themselves or they will lose in the end. Go PNG!
16. Good game, great win by CS and Kville gave it their all. #1 for CS was at his best last night and their D played great. Kville will be back. I saw 3 Kville games this year and the only negative I saw was an O lineman and a D linemam got personal foul calls that hurt them in all three games. PNG had the same issue early but so far have not had any lately. Kville ya'll are to good to get p foul's that often. Great win Cold Springs and good look next week! Go PNG!
17. Fan For Manvel, great having you, If you meet any PNG fans hope they treat you with respect. 99% are good people but like any school some go a little far. Can't wait to see the talent your team has and should be heck of a game. Go PNG!
18. I'm not giving up, any of you who happen to know any current or former players or someone who does make an effort to try and contact them. The players and the fans who supported them in their formative years deserve this. We may not live in the most beautiful of places in the USA but I guarantee there is not a group of more hard working, passionate tenacious group of people than those of us in SETX. Let's make this happen!
19. Brenhamfan great point about "I'd be more concerned with Dexter Foreman and Manvel, than a team that's not even in the playoffs any more..." in the day and age of every body and there brother making the playoffs anything can happen. Sure miss the days when one or maybe two teams went to the playoffs! Good luck to ya'll next year and glad you will get to see us move on against Manvel! Go PNG!
20. At my last count we have around 87 former and current NFL players, 6 coaches and trainers and not to mention the amount of MLB, NBA, PGA/LPGA players along with numerous entertainers. When I use the term Golden Triangle I choose to include towns like Silsbee, Buna, Dayton etc. because I fill we all have the same passion and pride in our lives. I have sent letters to all the major networks including ESPN and have gotten a wide range of responses but no interest. I travel the country on buisness and no where I have ever been has a larger amount of talent from such a small square mile area. How do we go about getting some major network do a special and the players, coaches, entertainers and people that make our area so special. We are a group of people that work hard, play hard and pull together under trying times (Hurricanes etc.) and support each other when the time arrises. Any ideas?
21. Go Titans! Started life wearing maroon and gold and go watch Memorial everytime I get a chance. I support all the Charles, Babineaux and Gorrier benefits. PA will always be sepcial to me. Good luck. Go PNG!
22. Go Bronc's, close enough to Golden Triangle for me. Hope to see you shortly. Stay healthy and have some fun! Go PNG!
23. sfa87 your right about throwing the spear and I did not agree with it. I don't care what any team does as long as they direct it toward their own side line. I don't even like our tomahawk chop routine after the millionth time and even I get sick of Cherokee after a while. I was just trying to make a point that our young people have to many bad influences and role models as it is in sports and life without letting them start at an early age. I saw a pop warner game a few years ago and a 10 year old gave the throat slash move after a hit, COME ON MAN! Good luck to all those left in the playoffs and great work to those that made it! Go PNG!
24. Laugh all you want at my lack of grammar and yes I did leave out the part about direct taunting toward our side line on purpose. Just my opinion but I do not ever think you should make gestures toward the other sideline. Do what ever you want toward your team and fans to fire them up, there is never a reason to taunt the other team. Part of trying to show these young men how to grow as a person and not only as an athelete is about teaching them respect for others. I guess I just come from a generation who prefered to let my play on the field do the talking. One time I saw an interview with the great Barry Sanders and he was asked why he did not spike the ball after a touch down and he said because he was taught to act like he had been there before and like he would be back again. To each his own. Good luck to all, go PNG! Kville_kats, I have supported your team for many years and sat on your sideline when ya'll played BC. Most all the people I was around were very classy and thank me for being there in my Purple and White supporting your team. Hopefully your one of those type of people.
25. Last night at the Willis game I was very disappointed to see the Willis team meet at mid field before the game and after half time. Their routine before kick off's is fine, 11 guys coming together to get pumped. This is not a player problem it is a coaching problem. Willis was the most athletic, never give up hard working team I have seen at any high school level in a long time they have no need to do this. I wish them the best of luck as their program grows. Last year against Brenham as their coaches dressed with ties on they let their players do the same thing. I don't care if you are on your home field during the regular season, home team during the playoffs that should never be done. Neither of these teams are the first to do it and sadly probably won't be the last but for the life of me I cannot understand how a coach would allow this. In 30+ years of watching 6 man through 5A football I have seen this and it angers me every time. I have all the respect in the world for Brenham and now Willis but please stop this part or your routine. These kids have enough bad influence watching how college and pro sports have turned into a thug show without being allowed to do this in high school. I do not mean to single out Willis or Brenham but they are the two teams I have seen do it lately. Both of you have great schools and have no reason to do this. If a PNG coach ever allows this I will gather as many fans as possible and go to the school board and superintendent and try and have it stopped. NDN fans cross the line just like all others and so do our players. I am asking the coaching community as a whole to stop this practice. This teaches this young men nothing. Good luck to all of you still in the playoffs and great job to those of you who are out. Go PNG!
