So losing by 14 thats what y'all call a close game aye? So you've created a double bind either the Cougars "Barely lost" by 14 because you know 14 and 0 aren't that far off or conversely you can't do math because of the crack rocks and it wasn't anywhere near what you predicted.

Reagan is going to try and run the ball our defense will hold. The defense looked really good versus Manvel. Short fields and scoop and scores make the score look bad but those bois can play. Im of the firm belief that no one can contain Netherly this year and that Craig is going to have a huge game. Hopefully we see the greatest show on turf return. Go cougs! 42-28 Crosby.

North Shore is going to do bad things to Manvel that game will be over in the second quarter.

Shemah looked so good at corner. Coaches have some decisions. CPat played like a man so excited to see this kid grow amazing kid and a good football player.

No we don't have the size to compete with some of those teams. But you do have like 700 more kids to draw from.

This game does excite me because we've had a few very close to home run plays. Ball Craig lost was very close to 80 yard td catch. Timing and practice will lead to better results.

Well get better. Sophmores need to get in the weight room and work on footwork on the line. They have the strength and speed to block this team but young kids are getting beat by solid technique from Manvel.

Preston impressive. DE's for Manvel are men holy crap they are good. D got tired was very clear that when 1st string slime isn't in they push us around. Definitely depth issues for Crosby. And a youth movement on offense not a good combo versus the #3 team in the state.

[/quote] we played Nederland and they won by 14. that's not blowing the doors off us. So when did everyone start liking the Cougars as district champs im confused. i expected everyone to say. SC/DAy SC/day somebody random Crosby shocking. 2 Reasons to think this season will be good for the cougs. 1) 2nd year in a system that has been proven to work, and proven to work vs. Dayton. 2) 2 Seniors that have everything to play for the rpessure is on now, they have to preform or else it's a waste of talent. So the Twins have more to prove now than ever before they want to prove they are not only d1 athletes (already proven by scholarships) but that they are elite and great football players. In Texas High school football is king they have a chance to write their names in a history book or two, or simply Win baby Win. We can go blah boah crosby coordinator sucks blah blah. But the truth is he's the same guy who engineered a fantastic game against Montgomery in the second round a few years back, the same guy who coached a 28-0 shutout of Dayton and the same coach who destroyed the undefeated BH eagle option offense in the Final game of a potentially undefeated season. So while yes he has lost leads or only played a first half or been completely out coached (Vidor some of the Dayton games, last year vs SC.) The truth is Crosby';s offense should be extremely good this year. And there defense needs to eb average to above average to win a butt load of games. I think this squad could win district i think they could beat both Sc and Dayton however are they going to? I think there is more talent on the Crosby team than on Dayton's team (this year) I think that was true last year too Dayton took them to the woodshed. I think they have pretty even talent to SC and they got beaten pretty badly in that one too. But they showed the could compete in that Manor game, they showed resilience in the Nederland game when they where down 21-0. So no reason to believe this squad couldn't put it all together.  I think they will but then again i'm a fan and an alma mater so i'll always be pro-cougar (multiple ways.) Yeah i love how Dayton fans keep going back tot he years when they had what 5 d1 prospects on their team? Including several that couldn't keep clean in college.

Flannigan needs 4 seasons. He's a perfectionist he needs to have kids who have been built by his system to be productive. Give him four season he'll get you to the playoffs and beyond. He's not a 3 play coach, most people are like he's running the same play but he's not zone blocking schemes involve most plays looking similar so that you can't read the play off the ball. Most observers can barely tell the difference. even if to the same hole he uses counter actions he uses wraps etc all of these are different plays that are common. Also most of his work is done with formation not play call simple plays putting guys in different spaces with formations is they way he coaches and calls plays expect that to be the norm. Good coach not a great motivator but a solid football mind. One last note Flannigan needs a cutback runner to be successful a kid that can really just stop and start, and a solid footed good armed QB if he had those two things he'd have an easy time winning.

Farva regardless of Size they are going to keep the HISD schools with one another. You'll probably see that district be considered 5A because of North Forest.

Having known many Mormons and CLDS people, the statement he turned down scholarships to go on a mission is false. Almost every university in the United States respects "religious missions" and offer pending scholarships... i.e. a scholarship for 2014 instead of 2013. No offense but I've had friends go to college for all sorts of things and be LDS and go on a mission previous to going to school (Track, Soccer, and Volleyball.) Montana was not big enough to play at the college level at the linebacker position, he probably wasn't fast enough either, kid had good instincts and played hard. I'm really suprised he didn't get dII or D3 offers. But not a d1 prospect.

Obviously we have the Twins coming back Key defensive players coming back. Kyle Williams, Chase Nix. All but one on the Oline will be back. That's a positive. Lots of seniors gone but the sophomore class is really good this year, and should make-up for losses. Hopefully a second year in the system means smoother play next year.
