1. Glynn Cyprien is a pretty dang good recruiter.  I think he'd be a solid hire.  Billy Gillespie just offered him $300,000 to be his assistant at Texas Tech.  That's pretty big money for an assistant.

I'm not a big Pat Knight fan.  He will provide some credibility from his time at Texas Tech, but he had 1 winning season at there.  Not to mention he never gets that job if it wasn't for his dad.
2. Bolcerek (CF) is a stud.  He hit .549 with 10 HRs and 63 RBI for the Cubs this year.  He was also 28/30 on stolen base attempts, so he should bring both power and speed to the Aggie lineup.  His 73 hits and .549 average were both school records.

Schlottmann (LHPP/OF) was the team's #2 starter behind senior Chase Wellbrook ( signee).  He went 9-2 with a 2.21 ERA and 93 Ks in 69.2 innings pitched.  He lost his first two games of the year and then bounced back to win 9 straight.  Apparently he had an ankle injury during football season that kept him out of preseason workouts and that he battled during the beginning of the season.  He also hit .333 with a HR and 23 RBI.  I'm not sure if A&M is recruiting him strictly as a pitcher or if they are going to give him a look in the outfield as well.
3. The initial talks for the baseball scheduling would be three 5 team "pods" since Colorado doesn't play baseball.  Each team would play a double round robin (home and away) against the teams in their pod.

The pods would looks something like:

Texas
Texas A&M
Texas Tech
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State

Arizona
Arizona State
UCLA
USC
Stanford

Cal
Oregon
Oregon State
Washington
Washington State

I would hope they don't do that.  Playing a 24 game conference schedule against only 4 teams would be a RPI killer.
4. Ross Stripling, the Saturday starter for A&M against Miami, will start tonight for the Ags.  I think Rob Childress is hoping to get 3+ innings out of Stripling before handing the ball over to Nick Fleece, who threw 2.1 scoreless innings against the Canes Saturday, and Shane Minks.  I also wouldn't be surprised if Clayton Ehlert got an inning in relief if it comes down to it.

Miami will counter with Eric Whaley, their Friday starter against Dartmouth.

5. now confirmed that Ehlert will start for the Aggies against Dartmouth
Senior Clayton Ehlert (4-6) will get the start against the Big Green in Sunday's contest, which will air nationally on ESPNU HD. It will be the first meeting between the two schools on the baseball diamond.
I haven't done any research on the guy, but was wondering. Garrett Whittles (FIU), what is he? soph, jr, sr? If he is underclass, what is the draft outlook?

If his season ends without a chance to break Ventura's record, does he come back for an attempt or does he take the money and turn pro.  Pretty sure it would all depend where he is drafted and how much $$$.

Wittels is a sophomore and not draft eligible.  He will be back at FIU next season.
