  1. I keep reading too many posts about Livingston in Vidor threads. Livingston has a good program, but they're not a measuring stick for Vidor opponents. I'm glad Nederland got some things together, against all their adversity and found a way to win. They always have a solid program, and great coaching. I'll take Vidor in this one.
  2. I like the things LCM was doing lastnight. But I only counted 27 players dressed last night. That's rough. I thought Vidor had a small number until I saw LCM's roster.
  3. I understand on your biggest night of the year, you should capitalize and sell, sell, sell. But come on. You shouldn't sell more tickets than you have seats. I had to sit on the Bears' side, and I guess I missed the commotion with the Student section..I sat in front of a very polite Bear supporting family, and we tried to represent the community well. In the future, I would hope Vidor ISD rents some portable stands and places them where they see fit. That would help tremendously. Anyway, Great job tonight Pirates! That run game was vicious.
  4. I'm picking Vidor, but I really have no clue about LCM this year. They show to play some games, others, they don't. Just play your game, Pirates. You should be fine. As far as homecoming goes...We should really schedule other teams for Homecoming. Out halftime isn't a novelty anymore to the LCM folk, they've seen it plenty of times by now. lol. Let's give others a chance to see it, without them having to abandon their team on Friday night to do so.
  5. Great job, Indians. I was skeptical, I'll admit. But I'm a believer now. Powerful, Speedy, and Smart football. Ya'll will do good things this year, and if the Pirates dont get into the mix at the end, I'll be there to support ya.
  6. Way to take Vidor down a notch. Run-oun sentences, mispellings, no capitalization on proper nouns and names, and a censored curse word. I can look past the poor grammar and spelling, but have some dignity and pride if you're going to represent Vidor as a poster. Pretty please?
  7. Don't worry about it, Bro. I don't judge a person by their spelling. We all make those little mistakes when posting.
  8. Maybe you will learn how to spell analogy... Check mate.
  9. Lol, I'm glad things have taken a lighter tone (as if they were ever hostile anyway). My grandmother is from Port Neches, so I have some ties there. And Coach Arnaud and Coach Leforte are two of my favorites of all time. I know Coach Arnaud is still there, can any of the NDN fans confirm if Coach Leforte is still around?
  10. I admit that the week played Central, I was nervous. I sincerely doubted the Pirates ability to move the ball on them, and I thought it would be ugly. Regardless of what I thought, I was there to support. and my reward was witnessing a phenomenal game. I'm not thinking of PNG as a lesser challenge, but I will admit, my worried levels aren't on par with what they were for Central.
  11. Jeez, the way the faithful talk, I wonder why Vidor should even show up? We're going nowhere on the ground, passing isn't an option, even if it were, the secondary will pick off every pass. Mathews is gonna look like Charlie Brown playing baseball (all his clothes falling off), and it's at the Reservation. I want to keep my Vidor pride, so do me a favor Pirates, don't show up. A forfeit sounds better than a legit loss.
  12. Best defense means nothing. In my years as a Pirate, we had the best defense, I believe 3 years in a row. What was the records? 4-7, 6-4, 6-4. I'm not going to be one to say PNG isn't for real. As long as they have 11 players minimum, dressed..any team is for real. Impressive win over Livingston. But I do think they'll have a tough time with Vidor, Lumberton, and Central. If they don't, more power to them. I have no problem admitting another team is better. This will be a good game. Those Pirates are conditioned. I firmly believe that's what makes their offense so effective (that and the benefit of having a committee of backs, with some misdirection thrown in). Other defenses wear out after 12+ play drives. And Vidor just doesn't let up.
  13. Is that a question? ??? In all honesty, I thought the Raider D played pretty solid vs. Vidor, so I hope you're able to take a compliment, because you certainly can't take criticism. Here's the criticism, granted, it's only speculation. But I think had the weather been more pleasant, Central might have scored a little more. The same can be said for the Raider O too, so don't think I'm taking anything away from your team. Be proud, Raiders. I don't know exactly how many fumbles your team had, but it sounded like a lot. To lose that many fumbles, and only lose by 1 TD? Impressive. That's something to be glad about.
  14. I've only had one bad experience with an Ozen fan, but I wont let one upset lady speak for, or ruin the high regard I hold Ozen to. I have no problem with Ozen, it's players, or fans.
  15. I'm up for that. I think I've defended my alma matter enough on this thread.
  16. I agree, I graduated in 87 and our football team was nowhere near what it is now, but it does not mean you don't have to be humble about your success. some fans are just over the top with their opinions and no one is guaranteed a winning season year after year, so you are right, don't forget where you came from! a W in vidors books, great job, good luck, and lets move on and focus on central... another tough one! I know where I'm from. I'm from Vidor, so if you're including me in the Lumberton group that has the "greater than thou" attitude, please dont. I put in my time as a Pirate.
  17. I didn't a chance to see that L-Train speed. I'm not saying it's not there, it's just that there wasn't any big plays for Lumberton. It was all methodical.
  18. Thank you, Jordi. Ya'll have a very solid team, and things are only to get better in Lumberton. I see them being a power for many years to come. Surely the boys aren't bitter, it's just a few people on here. Good luck the rest of the season, and I hope nobody gets hurt.
  19. I have seen plenty of comment on here from "VIDORIAN" saying that Lumberton's Defense played well and it was a tough game. And the Coach for vidor even said it himself that it was a lucky win for us.. so sore winners i think not! i do believe you said that the game was given to vidor..and all we are saying is It was not completely given to us! Vidor has come a long way..and we don't need people like you trying to ruin that for us! Dont worry about it, man. LISD has been around for 42 years. 2 playoff appearances, and suddenly it's a community of Gridiron Gods. If they lose, it's a fluke, if they win, it's business as usual. (again, only targeted at the fans downplaying the victory for Vidor..doing their best Kanye impression, trying to take the moment.)
  20. Honest? They're the two biggest propaganda spreading machines ever known. Everything they say is biased, one-sided, thoughtless, ill-conceived, and totally absurd. I can't stand those guys! (I vote for myself for most sarcastic poster of the day) I'm kidding of course, nothing but love for the Soulman and Jag. Always enjoy reading their posts and thoughts.
  21. I dont know. I thought Central's D would be the toughest for the Pirates also. But hey, that's football. Some teams play others better.
  22. The key to victory for the Raiders (IMO) is running the ball. I've said it earlier, but I'll reiterate. Lumberton's backs are tough, and run plenty hard to have the success of Vidor's attack vs. Central. In this game, I see Lumberton's balanced attack to be a weakness if they really balance it. Keep to the ground, Raiders. Vidor's defense is slow, and I barely saw any of your receivers open. Most of the completions came from the secondary players leaving their zone or their man to pursue a scrambling a QB, trying to assist in a sack. Central's better equipped with personel to chase him down, and if their secondary plays disciplined, it could get ugly if you pass too much.
  23. It's alright, bro. Seriously this isn't sarcasm, but it's easy to get ahead of yourself and misread things. I understand. I'm not trying to insinuate that you or anybody from Lumberton is dumb. I have no personal problems with the town. As I said, Two of my closest friends are former great Raiders. Good luck to you guys the rest of the season.
  24. One things certain, this game is a heavyweight fight. Oh, how I wish Vidor had their bye week this week. This is one I'd love to attend.
  25. Why do Raider faithful have to be retarts ..... I hadn't seen none of these post call Vidor Faithful RETARTS ...... if you don't like what is said just do your ...... point/counter:point ........ LOL! Come on don't get so serious! Just show up every WEEK! A few people have already pointed it out, but seriously? You really thought I was name calling? Either you misread my post, or you should brush up on your vocabulary.
