1. No disrespect. Maybe the wrong word to use. You guys no doubt have a great program and lots of playoff history. My point is to not go in with the mindset you’re behind the 8 ball. Just play your game.
2. They just need to look past the hype of Aledo. Just play the game. Play smart, disciplined football and they can take this. You only have one shot for such a moment. Don’t let the moment get too big. The talent is there.
3. Thanks Hagar for this info. Watched the whole game on KXAN. With sound! The guys calling the game actually did a pretty good job. Helluva game. Go Coogs!
4. When Dayton was rolling in the Stewart years I hated the Dayton fans arrogance on here. The Crosby fans have replaced them. Have some humility and some class and some sportsmanship. People read this crap and think everyone from Crosby is a bunch of trash talkers. I’m from Crosby the way.
5. Typical Crosby-Dayton square off. Throw out all wins and losses and stats!
6. Wisconsin degree? Are we talking university of or Wisconsin Middle school? Nope not a SAT but punctuation helps to explain your point and not sound so igno.
7. Please can we have a period thrown in there every once in a while. It's hurting my head!
8. Good to hear that the kids seem to be on the same page. Sometimes these social issues can be divisive. If the talent is there, maybe this was a good wake up call for Crosby. Every game in the district, each week, is going to be interesting and competitive. On any Friday!
9. I haven't made it out to see Crosby yet. The past few weeks the talk was how good Crosby's defense is (was) and that their secondary was great. Can someone explain what happened to their defense? Was it injuries or are they just not near as good as thought to be? And, I think it was 14.2 that stated the off the field problems got in the way. I'm assuming it was all the kneeling vs. standing for the National Anthem. Has this caused division on the team? Has Riordan lost the ship? Or maybe it's just that Porter is way better than thought, but I highly suspect that is not the reason. Anyone have opinions on my questions?

11. I had a discussion with a buddy at work today and I told him how much I think a good coach can make. His counter point was you have to have the talent. My counter point was a good coach puts the right people in the right places and coaches good fundamentals and that it can overcome the lack of talent. I'm seeing it so far with BH. Well not seeing it in person but. Crosby better be ready next week. Go Coogs!
12. Looking at the box scores I didn't see Carlos Grace's name in rushing attempts. It did show he caught one pass. Did he run the ball? What's up?
13. Good article. Did not know this bit of information and always glad to hear positive comments from our youth. Most of the time we only hear the negatives reported. Sounds as if he has a good head on his shoulders.
14. Listed as the Offensive Coordinator on Sulfur Springs ISD website.
15. Baytown Sun reporting that they have a good source that the new coach is coming from Corsicana. I don't subscribe to the Baytown Sun, so I could not read the entire article. Anyone have any more info?
16. I usually just read the threads and very seldom do I post. But I'd like to jump in on this one. Although I didn't always agree with Flanigan on his coaching philosophy when I've been around him he's a stand up guy. Careful what you wish for, because it may be hard to fill his shoes. As far as the school board and Barrett, well I was there when we integrated and went through those he77ish years. The problem is we were a divided community back then and still are to this day. We were both proud of our communities and did not want what the government forced upon us. Just talking with my kids, the division that once was there is not as bad, but it's still there. I blame it mostly on the parents that can't let it go and that relates to some of the school board members. That's my take.

There was alot of talk from the Dayton fans last year about how much talent was coming up from the JV and 9th grade teams. I think it was said that the 9th grade team may have the most talent that's come along for a long time. Not trying to be a smart arse. Asking a legit question, where is this talent? Is it there or did alot of these players drop from the program or is it something else? Just curious. I know it was mentioned that this is a young team right now.
+ That's e most overstated thing in HighSchool sports. Things change from year to year as teenagers. There is girls drugs pregnancy and uncontrollable things that go on at home. It's hard to keep High school kids focus week end and week out. I can only imagine from year to year. Not a Dayton Bronco fan just saying lets all think back to being 17-18 in high school. man the world was spinning so fast. LOL
Yeah, I can somewhat understand, but that's one of the ways you measure a program, on what talent you have coming up. Besides the age old girl issue, that's sad that we use the other things mentioned as excuses, but it is what it is.

19. Cotton was a John Riggins type runner. Just run people over. Much of a man. I am familiar with all the other RB's mentioned except T.Lang. What year did he play? And Loper is before my time.
20. I'll go back a ways. Ray Cotton was one of the best.
21.
CROSBY SUX
You have such intelligent responses. How long did it take you to come up with this one Dude?
22. The same reason you think Wright should be MVP some of us think that Merka should have been MVP or at the very least 1st Team QB. I assume you watched Wright play every game as I watched Merka every game. That's both of our opinions on the choice that was made. Vendetta? No, I don't agree with that statement. But I will state again that the problem with Crosby was not the offense, even though it lacked somewhat, the lack of defensive stops was the problem, which again I'll state that Merka cannot control that side of the ball.
