1.
Wait a sec there chief...I believe that bigdaddyblue started running his mouth first.  It's called reality...Dayton put up 600+ yards on this same team last week.  Yeah we know Crosby beat us, granted.  But Crosby knows they got a gift from the heavens with that win.  It sounds like they barely got out of this one.  Congrats on your District Championship, but you'll still be one and done.
Crosby put up a lot of yards too, but just gave up a lot of yards tonight. I just like to watch high school football games. I'm not on here trying to prove to everyone who has the best football program. I rooted for Dayton all the way to state last year. But some of you Dayton fans on here have about made me change my mind. If you didn't notice this was a thread about GP vs Crosby. Man, everytime there's a thread that has anything to do with 19-4A it turns into a Dayton thread on what we did, what we're going to do and you just got lucky, that's why you beat us. Chit gets old.
2. Oh yeah. Here we go again. Another thread starts with the sarcastic remarks. You can't post anything without bringing up the past.
3. No I'm not kidding. They surprised the heck out of me. Maybe they got some players back from grades, but they didn't look to bad tonight. And the rabbit's foot, hey whatever it takes. Bottom line is, defensively we didn't play good tonight. But a win is a win.
4. I don't know how many defensive starters were out tonight, but man we made GP offense look really good. GP was pretty impressive. They are big and fast. Not sure why they have not made a better showing throughout the year. Their offense was pretty balanced. We better find a way to defend the pass across the middle. That's 2 weeks in a row that we were lit up with passes over the middle. BH did it last week and GP did it again tonight. I know our LB Judy was not playing and that made a huge difference. Looks like Coogs coach was doing everything he could to not run Merka and get him hurt. We were lucky to get away from there with a win. Keep that rabbit's foot in your pocket coach! Way to pull it out Coogs!
5. Didn't hear the exact numbers, but I heard that there were several players that were injured and were not going to play. I did hear that RB JaKacey was not going to play, but do not know that as fact. We'll see.
6. #24 is Dylan Judy. Watched him all year and he can flat out play.
7. I have to disagree with some that say BH just doesn't have the athletes. BH has always had pretty darn good athletes or they wouldn't have had the success in 3A like they did. 4A is a step up and there's a bigger talent pool. North Forest has over 2000 students (and they're 0-8, go figure) compared to BH at 1055. Crosby and Dayton are around 1400. GCM is over 1500. I thought BH looked good the other night. Sometimes it's just the way the ball bounces, as they say. Crosby has had some huge breaks this year, but some of these breaks have been because they've forced them. I still think if BH can reduce their TO's they can make a impact in the play-offs. Like someone else said, I think they are the best 4-5 team out there. If I was facing them in the first round of the play-offs I'd be concerned. I can't respond to the coaching situation, because I do not know much about Price. I didn't see anything the other night that made me think it was coaching that cost them the game. How's BH injury situation? I know one kid went out Friday with what looked like a pretty bad knee injury.
8. Great game Coogs! Defense bent, but didn't break. Vivarette's the real deal. BH I thought left it all out on the field. Can't recall BH WR #82's name but he had a heck of game as well, tough kid. Once again, Coogs got some breaks, but you have to hand it to them, they stepped up when they had to. I thought Merka and Jakacey played a heck of a game as well. Merka's a load to bring down. Great Friday night high school football game. BH kids showed real class coming over and shaking hands with a couple of our hurt players on the sidelines after the game. Went out of their way to do so. Both teams played a great game. Way to go Coogs!
9.
And judging from your comments above, you know something about classless and grace? I think he mentioned one call by the ref.   /////    I said " good luck " doesn't that count  ???  :D
Okay. Hope we didn't use it all up in the past few games. Should be a good game. Thanks.
10.

There needs to be a separate Dayton excuse thread. If, if, if.  If we hadn't have given the ball away.... If the refs would have blown 4 more inadvertant whistles... People who were at the Crosby/Dayton game know that with about 6 minutes left in the 3rd quarter a Cougar OLB ran a pick six back on a screen pass but the ref on the Dayton sidelines blew the whistle in the middle of the play. There was no flag. And the player who intercepted the pass never came close to going down, in fact he never left his feet.  That was not an unforced error.  Give credit to Crosby's defense. And when Ploch was scrambling in the late 3rd/early 4th quarter and got popped, that was not an unforced error.  The other two or three times on special teams, well that's part of football.  It's not like this was a 1 point game.  Dayton lost.  Dayton got shut out by probably it's biggest rival.  In a game between two undefeated district teams, Dayton could not stop Crosby. I'm sorry you can't get over it. Now onto this thread's topic: Barbers Hill threw five picks in the first half against PN-G and still kept it a game, 21-20.  I didn't see 1/4 of the excuses that I've seen from their neighbors up north on 146. That being said, I think this will be a close game. BH is a few plays away from being 7-1.  They barely lost to PN-G, Lumberton, and Dayton and no one in Crosby is taking them lightly.  Should be a good game.
Seems like everybody has moved on but Cap rock ! You must be on a differant  board than I am because I don't see anyone complaining but you. Now your crying about the refs how poor Crosby got all the bad calls., boohoo. And for your info when Payton P. got his concussion ( you know when your classless coach turned around waving his hands cheering the manic crowd on !) we recovered that fumble and even got a first down out of it . I guess Crosby has been loser's so long when they  do finally win a game they forgotten the art of grace.Good luck the rest of the season and please don't schedule anymore non-district games with Ennis you completely embarrassed  Dist. 19-A
And judging from your comments above, you know something about classless and grace? I think he mentioned one call by the ref.
11.
IF BH PLAYS AGAINST CROSBY LIKE THEY DID DAYTON BH WILL COME OUT WITH THE WIN P.S. CROSBY BEAT DAYTON CAUSE DAYTON PLAYED A BAD GAME
So if BH loses to Crosby it will be because BH just had a bad game. And if Crosby loses it will be that Crosby just had a bad game. Give me a break! :
12. Final Crosby 28 North Forest 0. Crosby played most of their back ups the 4th quarter. You could tell they were a little flat in the first half after the big game from last week, but they finally kicked it in gear. Good job guys.
13. The Crosby fans celebrating, Dayton fans should take it as a compliment. When you're the underdog going into a game that had all the experts predicting another drumming by Dayton and you come out with a win and a shut out, what do you expect the fans to do? Sounds like sour grapes to me. Or should I say "smells" like sour grapes.
14. Coogs came to play tonight! Dayton imploded, but Coogs put alot of pressure on them. First time I've seen Ploch this year, but was expecting more out of him. He and Merka are real similar. Both big and will run over you, not overly fast, but fast enough. Both follow their blocking well, but Merka looked much better than him tonight. Ploch got his bell rang tonight. I don't know how it sounded over the broadcast, but I wouldn't think Crosby coaches were cheering that Ploch got hurt, but more of the big hit Dylan Judy put on him. Ploch probably out weighs him by 40 pounds. Crosby played well on both sides of the ball. They've improved each week they've played. Congrats Coogs! Well deserved win!
15. There's no way anyone from Liberty County can sound "uppity" ! LOL
16. I'm a Crosby fan and after watching them play the first 2 weeks, I didn't think they would win a game this year. I also thought that Ennis was a powerhouse. I don't know what happened to them, but they lost to Waco last Friday, who was 0-3 coming in. Go figure. With that said, hat's off to Flannigan for at least making this team competitive. He's moved some kids around, especially on defense. QB Merka is solid and the running back is much improved. He's a slasher, not a power back. I respect all the area teams, so I'm not going to bash any of the area teams. Dayton's program speaks for itself. Stewart does a good job over there. BH has always had a great athletic program as well. We have some good athlete's that are playing just baseball and I wish some of these kids were playing football. I don't know whether the other area schools have the same problem, but when I was going to school, if you were a good athlete, you played mutiple sports. Everything is now so specialized. The Crosby vs. GCM game should be a pretty good game, but I'd have to give the edge to GCM. Same with BH. I don't believe we'll be able to compete with Dayton. Also, for the kid(s) that posted previously from Crosby, please don't embarrass us with your lack of grammar. Talking smack is to be expected, but please.....
17. Went to the Crosby vs Ennis game. Ennis is a pretty solid ball team, but Crosby is in for a long season if they don't get their act together. It was 54 to 14 at the half! Luckily Ennis started their second string offense in the second half. Crosby's secondary was not very good to say the least. And when they finally did have someone covered, the Ennis receivers made some terriffic catches. Crosby could not stop them. Ennis never punted the ball the entire night. Not even the second string. Crosby's QB Merka is solid, but he doesn't have much help. Crosby doesn't have any size either, so they are going to have to play fundemental football and mistake free if they are going to compete. They didn't do either of these things Saturday night.
