1. I remember a lot of people on this board were calling for coach Stewart to get off the sidelines and not be involved. This is what happens. Be careful what you wish for.
 2.
Hmmmm ..... Dayton posters haven't spoke a word about this, but Chron.Com did (although, some of us have known for the last month or so) ..... [Hidden Content]
Well I know who to talk to if I need to know the inside scoop.
 3.
if i remeber correctly png killed us first half but come second half we dominated but started a little to late
That sounds like a loss where I come from.  There's nothing worse than somebody talking about moral victories.

 5. I'd say the best tradition is Crosby losing to Dayton followed by the Hill being for real.
 6. The first game I remember was Dayton's 85 playoff game against PA Lincoln.  The first time I remember having a vested interest in a game was 89 watching Ivory Durio.  Still the best player ever in Dayton.
 7.
Who is arguing that football is not king? and wasnt beating my chest or anyone elses about success in other sports...once again...just pointing out why so many Dayton (non-football) parents are unhappy with the overall athletic program.  It was a response to the Dayton poster saying "Nobody cares about..." other sports/activities.  Truth hurts so much that you cant seem follow the thread ? lol.
I'm not having a hard time following anything.  BHFan's little comment was a stab at Dayton, while patting yourselves on the back.  However, whether you want to admit it or not, outside of the parents and coaches of the other sports, nobody really cares.  Like I said before, just look at the attendance.  Dayton struggles at a lot of the other sports, but I'd rather be successful in football than cross country.  Speaking of cross country, how many meets did you attend this year?  I'm guessing zero.  How many football games did you attend?  Ok case closed.  Now that we've gotten that out of the way, and since we're on a football board, let's talk some football.  I'd like to start with 54-0.  Drink it in.  It always goes down smooth.
Wow, that took a "weak" for a response.  Nobody is hanging on to secondary sports, just pointing out the typical Dayton poster's rationale that only football matters (to excuse their lack of competiveness in ever other sport), which is kinda sad...The envy continues..... ;D
If you choose to believe that football isn't king in Texas, go ahead.    All you have to do is look at the attendance.  When is the last time you saw 12000 people at a girls basketball game?  I'd be willing to bet most non football teams don't have 12000 people attend their games in  an entire season.    I understand your need to beat your chest about other sports because your school is garbage in the one sport that truly matters.  Deep down you know you'd trade the success of your school's other sports for a portion of the success Dayton has had recently in football.  That 54-0 beat down is making some of you bitter and jealous.

 12. Out of the 22 linebackers at the camp, Cole had the lowest SPARQ score.  He ran a 5.0 forty and did poorly in the other tests.  It was a bad showing all the way around, but none of that matters when the pads are on.
 13. Cole is a heck of a player, but that 5.0 forty time he clocked isn't looking so great.

Please.  Big Stew laid the foundation for a preseason top 25 type program every year.  The only question is how the players respond to the new staff.

Bronco stadium but Stewart Field. I got a thousand to put down for a bronze statue or bust of Coach Stewart.
x2
Largest waste of Bronze  in Human history.
maybe we could bronze a pair of merka's cleats and you could put those on your mantel, next to a picture of the 42-3 SCOREBOARD
The difference is I could get an Autograph if i wanted one. Merka was a little brother of one of my good friends my defense of him is because he's a great kid as much as he's a great athlete. I don't want a bronze anything of Merka. The only things that get bronzed shape the world, not a small podunk community like Dayton.
an autograph of what?  merka?  I might as well get an autograph of any of the 11 kids on the field at any given time...because as of now, they're all pretty even.  Merka may/may not see the field at TCU.  Look at Cody, all-state QB and state champ runner-up and he's barely seeing playing time because there's ALWAYS someone better, faster and stronger waiting to take their place. I'm sure Merka is a great kid, most of the kids out there are.  They are what afford us this board and the ability for thirty-something has-been's to talk smack back and forth to each other for sport.  I never lose sight of that aspect, it's you I don't like. as far as dayton being "podunk" and things that shape the world being bronzed...take a look at coach stewart and the kids he's coached.  A lot of us learned perserverance, courage and confidence from a man who exudes it.  If that's not "world-changing" I don't know what is...
You don't bronze a local hero unless he gets a Gold star or some other WORLD CHANGING. NOT SMALL COMMUNITY changing, but whatever if you want to waste a huge amount of bronze on an ugly statue go ahead. just wasteful in general.
After an 11-2 record against Crosby, yall might want to think about getting a Jerry Stewart statue for your field.  Maybe we can get a discount for buying two of them.

 21. Barbers Hill will probably be better next year.  My early prediction Dayton 42 Barbers Hill 7.  With that kind of progress the Hill might make it respectable in 3 or 4 years. Now that I think about it, as long as Gage and Stewart are the coaches it won't even approach respectability.
