  1. I told yall I had a feeling about 22-4A. Lumberton could have won by more than they did, but it does'nt matter, they pulled it out. Come on PNG.
  2. If Lumberton can control the ball with their running game , and I think they will, they can put LaMarque's defense on their heels. With the rotation of backs Lumberton has they will wear down LaMarques defense and keep LaMarques offense on the sidelines and limit the number of big play opportunities for the cougars. Lumberton is not flashy, their speed is ok, their size is about average, but their heart and mainly their toughness is what will win the war. Lumberton will earn LaMarque's respect friday night. Dayton is just better than Texas City. In the cold and wet conditions I'll take the bulldozer (Hemmings) over the sports car (Rogers). Turmovers & kicking game will be huge playing in the rain.
  3. You may be right . When my common sense takes over I agree with you, but I just have a gut feeling that this year it will be different.
  4. I think PNG has the toughest game. I like Lumberton over LaMarque and Dayton will roll over TC.
  5. I think 22-4A will sweep this weekend; PNG - 24 LC -- 21 Lumberton - 17 LaMarque - 14 Dayton - 35 Texas City - 14 All 3 have a chance to be playing in December
  6. Normally I would agree with you about 23-4A being the best in the region, but I think 22-4A has a shot to knock off two of them this weekend. I think Lumberton will win and also Dayton. 23-4A is a little off this year, not much, but a little. Could be a 22-4A region final this year and I think Dayton wins it and plays for a state title, and I'm a diehard Nederland bulldog, but I give credit where credit is due and Dayton is playing lights out, to bad for Lumberton
  7. I was wondering if you meant 1st round. If 22-4A can pull out some wins this round they can make it to semi's or state, this is a tough round with 6 very good football teams.
  8. 2004. Kilgore over PNG, Jacksonville over Nederland , Marshall over Ozen
  9. It would be nice if Lumberton finally showed up for a game against Nederland, hopefully Lumberton is still playing for something and not just enjoying another senior night in week 10.
  10. Ryan had so many great plays but I was amazed with the one handed catch at Ozen in 2004. It's on the 2004 highlight video that Jack Fitch made. If you haven't seen it you are missing a great video.
  11. In 2004 Nederland would have gone, 19-13 over png, png 31 - 23 over Ozen , Ozen 40 -37 over Ned. Nederland +3 PNG +2 Ozen -5
  12. We are not worried about Tezeno or anyone else the Indians put in the secondary. Nederland has to many good recievers. Nederland will have 4 or 5 plays over 40 yds. PNG will make 1 or 2 critical mistakes on either offense or special teams that will result in quick scores or a short field for a quick score. Nederland -----31 PNG ----------14
  13. I hope they put Tezeno on Cardenas , Asa is very good at taking the ball from shorter corner's and has very good speed himself. No one has handled Asa so far.
  14. Nederland has won I think 10 or 11 Bi District championships in a row, how does that compare with the teams on the consecutive playoff appearances list.
  15. Prep Ticket Texas 4A Top 10: Week 6 Monday, October 08, 2007 Prep Ticket Texas 4A Top 10: Week 6 1. Copperas Cove (5-0) - The Bulldawgs remain at the top of our rankings after a bye week. Next Game: Oct. 12 vs Brownwood 2. La Marque (6-0) - The Cougars grab win number six after defeating Angleton 32-14. Michael Patterson ran the opening kickoff back 88 yards for a touchdown to give La Marque the early lead in what turned out to be a rain-soaked game that saw 10 fumbles and two interceptions from the two teams. Next Game: Oct. 12 at Friendswood 3. Waco (4-1) - The Lions are coming off a much-needed bye week. Hopefully their nagging injuries have healed up a bit as they begin district play this week. Next Game: Oct. 12 at University 4. Stephenville (5-0) - The Yellow Jackets stay in our number four spot after a 42-10 win over Alvarado. Stephenville, along with the three teams above them, has made a strong case as a state championship contender at the halfway point of the season. Next Game: Oct. 12 at Joshua 5. Wichita Falls Rider (5-1) - The Raiders return to the top five for the first time since Week 2, the week before their only loss of the season to #4 Stephenville. Rider defeated Guyer 48-10. It was once again the dynamic backfield of Jurell Thompson (146 yards, three touchdowns), and Damien Washington (117 yards, one touchdown) leading the way. Next Game: Oct. 12 vs Denison 6. Nederland (5-0) - Good things happen when you just keep winning. Look at the Bulldogs, up three spots this week after a 40-29 win at Beaumont Central. Kirby Bellow has done a great job filling in at quarterback for injured starter Ryan Sampere. Bellow threw three touchdowns in this week's win. Next game: Oct. 12 vs Port-Neches Groves 7. Highland Park (5-0) - The Scots jump into our top 10 at the seventh spot after a 42-21 win over Mesquite Poteet. The Scots got some bad news last week when they learned quarterback Dutch Crews would be out for eight weeks with a broken collarbone, but backup Winston Gamso had a nice season debut, throwing for 257 yards and two touchdowns. Next Game: Oct. 12 at Rockwall Heath 8. Lake Travis (4-1) - The Cavaliers remain in our eighth spot after surviving a tough game against Vista Ridge. The Rangers had a chance to win in the final seconds, but, Lake Travis held on for a 33-28 win. Garrett Gilbert threw for 270 yards and three touchdowns while Chris Aydam rushed for 165 yards and a score. Next Game: Oct. 12 vs Lampasas 9. Everman (5-0) - The Bulldogs debut in our top 10 after taking down previous #6 Aledo 35-28. Everman has a very talented backfield, and they showed it off last week as Clarence Jennings rusehd for 161 yards and three touchdowns while Sedrick Harris contributed 157 yards and a score. Next Game: Oct. 12 vs Mineral Wells 10. New Braunfels (5-0) - We fill out this week's Top 10 with another new face, the unbeaten Unicorns. New Braunfels took down Del Valle 21-16 last week, and the defense helped them escape the upset with two key fourth-quarter interceptions. Next Game: Oct. 12 vs Hays Best of the Rest: Dickinson (6-0) Corpus Christi Calallen (5-0) Kerrville Tivy (5-0) Brownwood (4-1) Alamo Heights (4-1) Dropped out from last week: 5. 16. JC.......................................OC PATitan...............................Pirate88 Jake94................................Kicker Football04...........................Gasilla -----------.........................Setxsportscaster -----------.........................Grizzly62 We seem to be a little short on players, can anyone add more names that maybe I missed
  17. Football04 - JC I'll have to wait until we find out the seedings and times for the stjfl playoffs, may have a time conflict, but I'll try my best to make it. Soon as I know Titan, I'll let you know. I think the brackets and times are done ,just have wait to fill in blanks.
  18. Always knew Micah would be a solid D-1 back if someone would give him a shot. He can do it all, run out of the "I", catch the short passes and he is a very good down field reciever. Give Todd Dodge a couple of years to get his type of players into North Texas and learn the system and they will be tough, it'll be a good time to be at North Texas for Micah Mosley.
  19. Ned beat FP in 1981 21-16 , Ned also won in 1980 but I can't remember the score
  20. 1. Dayton - lots of tallent at the moment 2. Nederland - QB concerns, but defense much improved 3. Central - no more Brandon, although still lots of tallent 4. PNG / LCM / Ozen - lots of " we should have won " 8. Vidor - will upset someone 9. Lumberton - some good athletes, just not enough in 4a
  21. Micah Mosley gave his verbal commitment to The University of North Texas tonight. This is a great offensive system for Micah to showcase his running and recieving skills. To have a coach with the background and connections of Todd Dodge to go straight after Micah and make him your only recruit at runningback say's alot for Micah and how much Coach Dodge liked what he saw on film, and heard from area coaches about Micah.
  22. Mosley, Ned; Williams, Cen; Earl Thomas, WOS; should be in there for offense.
