  1. A typical defense has a 7 man front and 4 db's If Grogan is running against 5-6 man fronts then how can you say Bellows is not throwing against nickel and dime packages, If you've got a 5 man front you have 6 DB's in the game (dime) and a 6 man front would still leave you with 5 DB's (nickel), I'm not sure you can have it both ways
  2. There wasn't any holding call, they said it was taunting before he crossed the goal line, which is a penalty, but marked off on the kick off or extra point, the touchdown should have counted. We played Vidor in Vidor last week and the ref's were not very informed on the rules as well, after a safety they spotted the ball at the 30yd line.
  3. Lumberton can only win the out right title with a win AND a Livingston loss to Vidor, head to head victories only count for play off seedings. If Livingston wins vs Vidor They are guarantied a share of the District Championship...
  4. If Lumberton loses to Nederland it could wind up with Dayton 1st round. Livingston would have to win its last 2 vs Central & Vidor If Central wins vs Livingston, Lumberton is #1 seed in D2 and gets Crosby reguardless of Nederland outcome Dayton D2#1 vs Lum / Liv D2#2 Bi-District game. Crosby D2#2 vs Liv / Lum D2#1 Central D1#1 vs North Forrest D1#2 almost certain 1st round Ned/Vidor D1#2 vs CE King D1#1
  5. Longview is in region 2, we are region 3. Friendswood is the highest ranked 4a team in region 3 and they are only at about 14 or so, no one else even gets any votes.
  6. Thank's Raider I didn't catch that, it was late, I guess my only point was the top 5 are really close and there are some key match ups left, should be a great finish. I look foward to seeing Lumberton @ Nederland in week 10.
  7. NO . I'm saying if Central loses to Livingston and Livingston loses to Vidor and Nederland wins out you could have 4 teams at 5-2. I think Central wins out and has at least a share of the title, or with help from Nederland wins the out right title. Lots of if's.
  8. Even if Lumberton wins out they need help to win the district title out right, as does Central and Livingston. The district title is only won out right with having the best record out right, not we are both 6-1 but we beat them, that's CO-CHAMPS with the winner of head to head having the higher play-off seeding if it matters, could be D1-#1 and D2-#1 and the head to head win is about bragging rights.
  9. week 8 week 9 week 10 finish Lumberton 4-1 LCM W @ Ned L 5-2 or 6-1 ---- in Central 4-1 Livingston L @ PNG W 5-2 or 6-1 ---- in Livingston 4-1 @ Central W Vidor L 5-2 or 6-1 or 4-3 Nederland 3-2 @ Vidor W Lumberton W 5-2 or 4-3 or 3-4 Vidor 3-2 Nederland L @ Livingston L 3-4 or 4-3 or 5-2 PNG 1-4 @ Ozen W Central L 2-5 Ozen 1-4 PNG L @ LCM W 2-5 LCM 0-5 @ Lumberton L Ozen L 0-7 Could still wind up with 4 teams @ 5-2 Lots of football left and any of the top 5 could beat each other, gonna be a wild finish.
  10. Mr. Mosley is never scared to make his predictions, I think he said 42 - 14, but if he is wrong he shows up for his crow the next day. In fact I think some of you Vidor posters should call Mr. Mosley on his prediction and lets have some friendly wagering, James ain't scared.
  11. Hat's off to WOS senior blue on the win, they earned it . Nederland black showed why they will be contenders for the title with a great come back that fell just a little short. Nederland stood toe to toe with what appeared to be a david vs goliath situation and held their own. Both teams are fast and hard hitting, I hope we see a rematch in the playoffs.
  12. Nederland has Central, Livingston, Vidor, and Lumberton left to play and all of these can pull an upset. I think Nederland will be favored in these games but they will be good games and all of these teams claim to have solid defense's so we will see. I personally think all of these team's are pretty even depending on what night they play and turn over's, but these team's better be ready for Nederland's passing game because it way better than anything you will see from the rest of 20-4A.
  13. Lumberton's fans are alway's looking for respect, that's the only reason this thread was started. The u was triing to say Livingston is good and we beat them and PNG could not, otherwise this would've been started by someone from Livingston. If Lumberton keeps winning the respect will come, Lumberton didn't just find a bunch of new athlete's and start winning, they found a coach and the kids bought into the system and it makes all the difference. Build off of each winning season and you will have lots of respect for your program, and stop losing to Vidor.
  14. Nederland senior white---49 Vidor senior black--------0 Nederland senior black--- 51 Woodville senior --------- 0 Both Nederland senior teams are very good this year.
  15. football is a team sport, when we started this year we told our kids that we would only be as good as our offensive line was. everyone wants the glory, but without the line nobody gets the glory. at these young ages it is more important to be a team player and learn to be physical and play tough, that is what high school coaches are looking for in kids. I know, my son played 5 years of pop warner, I coached the offense and my son was left tackle and linebacker, in jr.high he was fullback and linebacker, as a freshman he was tailback and linebacker, as a soph. he started at linebacker on varsity at 150lbs and played 3 years at that position and never moved, 2 years 1st team all district. I was never prouder than when the school coaches said he plays the game the way it is suppost to be played, with intensity and toughness, and this is what you should hope your son gets from youth football, play the game as hard as you can with as much passion as you can on every snap, thats all you can control, and let the rest take care of it's self, you will be doing what is best for you and your son.
  16. Michael's should be at the top of the list, but out of sight out of mind, Westbrook really needs a game. Defense is up for grabs but Isadore certainly belongs near the top, tuff to win the award on a 1-9, 2-8 team though, defensive award will probably go to Newton or WOS, still to early to say Nederland may have two or three worth mentioning on offense (Bellows, Cardenas, Grogan)' but I don't think they top Michael's.
  17. if you took offense with my post I'm sorry, but it wasn't typed with you attitude of your response. I clearly stated that there where channels of people this was going through, (associations), I realize vidor posted theirs because they only have to get the scores from their association and they are posting them on their web site. The snag I was referring to was the one you pointed out about scores being reported wrong or late, you did explain the snag(everyone following the rules). I don't understand your comment about some misinformed soul feeling the need to complain and since I now know that you are the one who list the final scores I will apologize to you for my post, it was not intended to offend you and no I don't want your job. I have coached youth football for over ten years, the last two with stjfl and I have no kids playing, I do this as a volunteer and spend about 10-12 hours a week just to teach other peoples kids how to play football because I enjoy it. I am aware of the hurricane and that BC was devastated, you have my sympathy and praise for getting your association and kids back on the field so quickly, truly amazing considering the damage. I didn't mean to sound petty and I apologize again to you personally.
  18. I really like the vidor web site, but I can't understand why scores take till tuesday or wednesday to get posted. I do realize that scores have to be called in and there is a channel of people this is going through, but I notice vidor's score's are posted, so I'm pretty sure this is a stjfl snag and not due to vidor not posting them, so this is not a complaint against vidor. I just wish we could speed up the process or elimanate some of the middle men. I also appreciate vidor posting this information on their web site and welcome to stjfl this year, I hope everything works out well for you all this season.
  19. Thanks Badndn, I know Central's DB's can run with any wr's around, but you have to pick your poison. This doesn't mean I think Nederland will win state, just means Nederland's offense will be hard to stop. I was impressed with PNG's pass offense, although a little inconsistant. Needs more imagination but the QB makes good throws and the recievers are pretty good.
  20. PNG is lucky Bellows was a little off Saturday night. He missed several wide open receivers on deep routes and he normally doesn't miss on the deep passes. People don't realize how hard it will be to stop Nederland with the offense they have in place. They come at a defense from every angle, all they needed was some sort of decent running game and they found one in Grogan, a good one, and Bellows great to see him carry the ball also. PNG is still a good team as some of you will find out, and they had no answers. Central has a running game and a sound defense, but Nederland's WR's run great rts, it will be hard for Central to stay with our WR's and help contain Grogan. Central better control the ball with their running game better than PNG did or they won't keep our offense from putting up points either. In Order: 1. Nederland 2. PNG 3. Central 4. Vidor
  21. Anyone know the score of the Lumberton Senior White and WOS Senior White ?
  22.
